At around 7:25am this morning I was driving to work in traffic and I was needing to stop, but my brakes were not working properly. They went all the way to the floor, no pressure, and I rear ended another person going 35mph. My entire front-end of my vehicle is totalled and my airbags did not even deploy. After the wreck I pumped my breaks to try to move it off the freeway and the breaks started to work again. This is a serious problem because had I been going any faster and even had my other family in the car we all could have been seriously injured or died!!.

-the front subframe on the passenger side completely rusted through and broke. The driver side is perfectly fine and still has factory paint on it, but the passenger side is completely rusted out. Yes the vehicle and issue are available for inspection. -the front subframe is the frame component that holds and supports your front suspension, steering, engine and transmission. With the failure of the subframe the front passenger side of the car dropped down and the steering and suspension were compromised. Very unsafe for the driver and passengers to lose control of the vehicle. Loss of control is also very dangerous for others on the road. -the problem is very prominent for this year and model of car. It is an engineering flaw from the factory for years 1998-2002. The air conditioning evaporator drain hose is routed right onto the passenger side sub frame. The moisture from the drain is what accelerates the rust. The car only has 55,000 miles on it and it has failed this soon. -the car has been inspected by a shop previously and the shop welded a new support piece to “patch” the frame to make back home. -there were no symptoms, there was just a loud clunk on the front end and it dropped down.

Rear sub frame allowed for rear suspension arms to be bolted to. One of the locations where those arms have ways to be attached to is no longer safe to do so because of corrosion and rust. I noticed there was a recent safety concern for a generation of Honda crv having a similar, or indeed the same complaint.

The driver side air bag did not deploy, however, the passenger side air bag ceployed when we hit a deer at 70 mph! both air bags should have deployed since we hit the deer in the center of the car! my wife an I are very lucky to be alive! the insurance company inspected the car and considered it to be totaled. The sheriffs department also made an accident report! no warning lights were on at all, I just had the car tuned up and it was in good working condition! air bags not deploying could be a hugh issue for Honda in the future! send me an email and I will scan the information in and send it to you!.
An issue with the black accessory grille that started to bubble up with no reason and this is an issue with Honda Accord sport because of the black accessory grille.
The rf and lr door locks won't unlock or lock with the switch or the key fob. By not being able to lock or unlock those doors, if I had an accident my passengers would not be able to exit the car. I have tested this several times and the only way to unlock or lock is manually by pushing the switch on the door itself. It has not been inspected by anyone other than me. And the problem started with the lr door lock not working, now has also started on the rf door, the lr started about 2 months ago and the rf started 3 days ago.
The trunk release mechanisms of my Honda Accord exl coupe failed, both manual cable and electrical trunk release. My trunk does not open and when I need to access my spare tire in the trunk - I will not be able to. A real danger since I live in canyon country and often phone reception is poor. The only Honda model that does not have any external nor internal emergency trunk release option. There is no "valet" button, no decklid access, no external hidden key lock nothing that can release my trunk so I can gain access to my spare tire. Federal law 49cfr571. 401 mandates an emergency internal trunk release. In this Honda model the only way to get into the trunk from inside is by unlocking and pulling down back seats to access the trunk. But the only way to unlock back seats is by pulling a cable that unlocks them which is inside the trunk! so the safety design flaws in the Honda Accord exl coupe are: there is no emergency access to release the trunk to gain access to the spare tire and there is no emergency way to unlock back seats to gain access to the trunk since the only way to unlock back seats is in the trunk. A mechanical engineer needed to dismantled the seats to get into the trunk and he tried to release the truck with the emergency trunk release but it is obvious that the latch has failed. If there was ever a person stuck in the trunk that person would not be able to free themselves. I do have a video showing the emergency trunk release not working if you like to see it but I can not upload it. I lost my job during the pandemic and my house has major damage from the massive amount of rain los angeles received. I am unable to afford to have a Honda dealership tell me what I already have on video showing that the emergency trunk release has failed and I am in potential danger every time I drive. I asked Honda to fix trunk release latch and expressed the dangerous coupe design flaws but they will not fix the safety problem unless Honda dealership gets involved.

Honda Accord paint completely fades after 10-15 years of owning the car, very embarrassing to drive the car. This did not happen to Ford mustang and Cadillac escalade I own that are at same age. I would like this issue be resolved during recall.

Paint chipping on both sides of roof edges.
I noticed today that paint was peeling from the upper groove between the roof and back window panel of the car. I’m very concerned that overtime this will lead to corrosion that may possibly affect the integrity and safety of the back window leading to potential injury. Per my research, a “service bulletin” was realeased by Honda on Aug 29, 2019 extending the warranty for 2014-2015 Honda Accords to resolve this same issue but, unfortunately it was limited to fanthom blue pearls or obsidian blue pearl. In addition, this is not an isolated case as many Honda owners have voiced the same complaint in forums and different websites.
The paint is peeling off 6 months after I bought the car. South shore Honda and american Honda are not doing anything. I spoke with the manager at south shore Honda,,willie mejia who referred me to american Honda and american Honda referred me back to the dealer.

Subframe on passenger side is rusted through creating a safety hazard. I was unaware of this issue on 1999-2002 Honda Accords but when researching for the cause of a noise coming from the front end found plenty of articles but no corrective action from Honda.

My vehicle trunk randomly unlatches and opens. The trunk does both while driving and when parked. The key fob button to open the trunk is not pressed or in range during these incidents. This is a safety concern in that if can block my rearward view. It is also an inconvenience since it can lead to theft of contents and the car.
Unknown my brother had a car accident and was deceased in it. Very disappointed in Honda's safety/crash ratings.
Report is for a potential incident. Should the hood not be fully closed and only be held by the hood release lever at the front of the hood, the vehicle will not notify the driver of the potential danger even though the vehicle utilizes a sensor for the hood. Driving around with the hood not fully closed could result in an accident should the hood lever fail. This is on at least two different Honda models both the Accord and the crv.
The black parts of the front grill is melting.
Paint chipping on the body, the paint has chipped down to bare metal.
2/24/22 - drove to work in the morning. Front driver door will not open from outside or inside. Had to climb over the center console and exit thru the passenger door. The driver's door will unlock, but will not open. Problem disappeared when getting back to the car after work (4pm est). 3/1/22 - rear driver door would not open from outside or inside. This was going on most of the day. Took the car to great lakes Honda west (elyria, ohio) at about 6:30pm est. The rear driver door opened when at the dealership. The service tech mentioned possible bcm issue, but said I would have to bring it back when the door was stuck closed again.
While driving this Honda Accord the sunroof suddenly exploded into thousands of little pieces. It rained down pieces of glass all over me and the interior of the car. Nothing hit the glass and I had never heard of this occurring until I began researching to see if it had happened to others. There are many instances where people have talked of this happening to them on the Honda forum and other places online. This is definitely a safety concern. Glass shattering and pouring down on people while they are driving is potentially a fatal flaw. Cars with sunroofs should be required to use laminated glass like for windshields,.
Passenger door well not unlock from key fob (keyless unlock a door) or inside unlock switch. This is an intermittent problem and Honda dealer cannot resolve it. I believe this imposes a safety hazard. I cannot get in unless I use the key or go round to the passenger side and crawl over to the inside door latch.
Paint peeling where roof meets rear window in rain/water track.

Purchased a brand new 2018 Honda Accord I’ve only had it for 3 years and the paint is chipping. I’ve contacted the dealer where purchased and they stated it’s out of the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty and won’t do anything about it. Opened a case with american Honda motor corp and still haven’t heard anything back from the regarding my vehicle paint issue.
I just happened to be outside today, and noticed and discovered body rust on the rocker panels (both sides) near the rear doors (below doors and in front of rear tires). This would have had to begun a while ago, for me to be just now noticing visible rust and rust-bubbles today. I have also discovered this is a habitual rust issue specific to Honda and the Accord going back several generations, and apparently also habitual front-end frame and/or sub-frame rust issues. For the times I have had it at a Honda dealership service department, and their supposedly "vehicle inspection" to have been included with each service, no person at a Honda dealership service department ever mentioned any rust whatsoever. I purchased my Accord new in 2014, and has approximately 47,000 miles on it today (which of course, factory warranty has expired). It would seem obvious to me that Honda themselves had to always be aware of this type of issue. As I also discovered today via internet searching, that rust has been a Honda Accord issue for over 20 years. Their dealerships ought to be recommending, suggesting, or offering rust protection/rust preventative be applied when buying a new Honda (for a cost to the consumer of course). "paint protection" that come with new Hondas, isn't going to take care of nor prevent rust issues. I can't say I've ever been happy nor impressed with my Accord, and all the times I've had it at a dealership service department and mentioned the door wind/door window noise (and finding a "service bulletin" today specific to this on the NHTSA website, but no one at any Honda dealership service department (at least not in the central ohio area) has any concern nor interest in investigating anything at all mentioned by a consumer; they only want to change the oil, replace tires, replace filters, and replace wiper blade inserts.
The clip that holds the door closed gets loose and the door opens while driving. Can tighten with screwdriver, but will get loose again.

Paint peeling. Large half dollar coin sized peeling paint on the hood. Paint is peeling off and the paint is very thin. Normal highway driving will cause paint to chip off to the primer and metal level.
