The vehicle has good compression, but a strange noise is coming from the engine. It is also losing oil while leaving no oil markings. The vehicle has never missed an oil change, and was getting one when the mechanics said that the noise meant that the engine had problems. Multiple mechanics have told us to replace the v6 engine. The tire rods also need to be replaced, and the tsm light never goes off.

Engine grinds during cold startup. Engine noise progressively louder during driving and idling. Honda was aware of the problem and finally issued a fix but my car is out of the warranty period that they've advertised. I feel cheated because Honda seems to have waited until enough cars were out of warranty before issuing a costly fix that they've known of for close to a decade.

This car has started to show signs of bad build quality. 1st 2 days after buying the car all the lights on the dash came on so I had to take it in for a module replacement. 2nd the car is very loud ( the road noise and engine noise) worse noise I've ever heard from a new car and sound like it's has exhaust leaks. T|e vehicles ride is very hard like the struts are worn or bottoming out and it's not the 17 inch tires as my fusion has 17's. The vehicle is difficult to keep in its lane even with all of the lane keep technology I have a hard time staying straight especially when I hit bumps the car hops around like it has worn struts. The transmission shifts into 1st gear hard on pulling away from a stop.

Oil life at 40%. Car was making noise. While driving and pressed on brakes . . . Oil pressure light would turn on and off. Checked oil on car. No drop of oil in the engine. Excessive oil consumption. No leaks. . Carbon found on cylinders, inside engine and on pinston rings. This is not normal especially when consistent oil changes, fuel injection was cleaned, and cvt transmission is also replaced consistently. I just bought the car 6months ago. Engine is currently dismantled and warranty does not cover! completely upsetting!.

Car sporadically dying (electrically and all) while in drive or in motion of forward driving (while going 30 + mph) and then just as sporadically turning itself back on. Makes chain dragging sound similar to worn brake pads but the sound will change pitches while driving between 0-43mph. After 43 mph it no longer makes odd sounds but as soon as deceleration begins it is at risk to either temporarily "die' or slightly jerk and almost "die". This has happened while driving up to 20 times within 3 miles and the first time it "died" was while pulling into a parking spot and fully stopping. It has not done it for the last couple days and local mechanic could not diagnose it as the battery was in great condition and everything appeared to be plugged where it should be.
High oil consumption and engine cold making noise. Honda repaired this issue 2 times in the past under warranty, issue a extended warranty that expires and the issued has happended a third time. Honda knows the issue is happening to the cars and all Honda does it fix it until the car is out of warranty.
I purchased this Honda Accord from automaxx of summerville in good faith from dealer stating that vehicle passed all their inspections (including brake system). I found out within 2 weeks later by taking it to a Honda dealership, that the brakes, brake lines, caliper, exhaust system are all affected by severe, damaging rust. During inspection, inclusive were sticking caliper. I had front brakes replaced; but due to rust, technician had to bam & force brakes lose. I was informed of the risks with severe rusting causing parts to brake and fail. New brakes would not install properly after old, seated brakes came off. When vehicle is in motion and stopping, the brake system makes noise, and seems like something coming apart due to the insecure fitting of brakes/rotors/calipers, which all have a great build up of rust. This vehicle was purchased approximately 1 month ago in these conditions. It should be illegal to sell such vehicles that pose safety risk in brake system. Honda inspection suggested that rust was so severe that car could have possibly been damaged by salt water/snow/ice or flood. Car originated from up north. Re-sale should not be allowed.
Vtc actuator making noise and cold startup. . Started at about 60,000 miles.
My 2011 Honda Accord makes noise on cold starts. On 10/20/15, I picked up my car from Honda service and they explained it as noise from the vtc actuator and stated in writing there is no repair yet available from Honda. I find this unacceptable and I won't buy a Honda again unless they repair this at no charge to avoid any further damage to my vehicle. . . I have only owned Honda Accords since 1989.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with my 2008 Honda Accord ex-l (4cyl). Besides being recalled for the automatic transmission control module software update, premature brake/rotor wear (more than I care to count, honestly), battery/electrical issues, srs module failure that Honda refused to fix/address/recall (I had to pay $600 out of pocket on that one), I am now battling with high oil consumption. . . . Consistently. Although, this has recently been voluntarily recalled for the issue, I am outside the 125k mile warranty term. I am currently at 172k miles. I religiously get an oil change every 3k miles. Every 2k miles I need to add a quart of oil. This has been an ongoing issue since around 60k miles. Honda and multiple mechanics confirmed there is no oil leak and Honda insisted the car is not burning it. . . . . Despite what other mechanics have told me. Yet, here I am "burning" a quart of oil every 2k miles. Just recently, after a few minutes of driving and after about 1500 miles after an oil change, my engine started making a "pinging sound. " then the oil pressure light started flashing. I immediately pulled over and turned the engine off to find that the oil (per the dipstick) was low again! I understand the car is getting up there in mileage but the thing looks brand new and I have always kept up on the maintenance. There is no reason it should be "burning" the oil as quickly as it is for as long as it has. Very disappointed in Honda not addressing the issue when I brought it to their attention several times in the past. Now they issue a recall and cut the mileage off at 125k? like I said, love/hate. I will not be purchasing another one.
I bought my car new in 2010 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. I had been taking my car to get the oil changed on a regular basis to the Honda dealership. Since beginning of this year, my car started making noise so it took it to dealer to check the reason. He told that me that my car is out of oil even though indicator say oil level is 70% and that is the reason for it's making sound. He told me that he could not detect the issue and bring it one more time. He temporarily fixed the issue by filling the oil. It again happened after a month and he again filled in oil but he charged me this time for filling the oil. He said that we will need to do "oil consumption" test as he doesn't see any leakage either. This is really scary to me when I see that there is already class suit against Honda for the same reason but that's applicable for 6 cylinders engine and not for 4 cylinders. When I asked the dealer about it, he simply denied any lawsuit or class action or recall for Accord 2010. It's defect in a car but neither Honda accept it or dealer agrees to it. However, I'm spending my money and time to fill in the oil every month after only 1000 miles. It's ridiculous and frustrating as well.

When starting the engine a loud squealing noise happens and it can go away or remain for multiple attempts. The starter light is on during this entire process. It may not happen for weeks then mult times a day.
Brought a car from milenium Honda in hempstead. Less then 4 months need a new transmission service manager refuse to give me a loaner car when I went to get it fixed. Still having problems with my car. Sold me a lemon. Making a sound like the engine is going to fall out.
Upon accelerating from a stop, the car has no power making it unsafe to move out of the way of approaching traffic. There is a considerable amount of hesitation between shifting gears until the vehicle reaches a level driving speed. There is a hard downshift when slowing the vehicle to a stop or even just decreasing the speed. There is a significant amount engine noise during acceleration until the transmission changes gears. Driving up a hill from a stop or slow roll causes the vehicle to barely respond and the rpms reach very high levels before the gears change and acceleration is achieved.
Driving approximately10-15 mph on a local round-about and the engine appeared to stop running. I coasted to an intersection and stopped along the road. Engine turned over initially then only buzzing sound. Shifter locked in park after stopping. Door locks and windows were functional as well as the fan motor. Limited lights on the panel, tire pressure system, and red passenger seat icons were lighted. I would consider this a dangerous occurrence. Fortunately I was not in a bad location for stopping.
A noise was coming from the engine. I had it checked twice by an outside mechanic then twice by Honda. They all agreed that there are 2 issues. One is per Honda's service bulletin 08-017, the rocker shaft bridge has excessive clearance which causes the rocker to rotate and make noise. The second, and most important, is an oil consumption issue, of which Honda is well aware of a problem. I currently get 755 miles per quart. I contacted american Honda and they will not pay for the repair.
When I start up the car it wouldn't start. The light, acc, radio everything turns on but the engine wont start. I try several times but it will not start, I got out the car lock it, them I decide to try again and them it started. I bought the car in may 2013 this is the 3rd time it happen same exact way. Also a buzzing noise coming from the radio or bluetooth. I took it to the dealer they could not found anything wrong with it. The battery was fine According to the dealer.
Engine makes noise when starting up that goes away after around 5 seconds. Was told atc actuator was bad.
I was traveling at 60 mph on us 30 when my Honda Accord suddenly jerked and slipped into low gear. I was nearly rearended and was definitely in shock. I continued homeward and it did the same thing 3 more times. I had slowed my speed to 40 mph but the engine sounded like I was going too fast for the gear I was in so slowed down even more. . . . Put my flashers on and crept home. Since it is after hours I must wait until tomorrow to contact the dealership. However I have found that many people have had the same problem with Honda Accords.

I noticed my car was making a strange noise when I first started it up. I took it to the Honda dealership in roanoke virginia, and they told me I was running the car without oil. They filled it up for me, and change the oil filter. Not even 3000 miles later, the car was making the same noise. I looked up on the internet forums and found the oil consumption concerns. I brought this up to the service manager at the roanoke dealership, and he dismissed it. He said it is common to put a quart of oil in the Accord about every 1000 miles. I am in sales, and I drive about 900 miles a week. When this was first brought to the dealerships attention, I was just over 40,000 miles, and I was still under the factory warranty. I repeatedly brought this up to the same service manager, and he said he can do a consumption test, but it will take many miles to complete. He reassured me there was no problem. I bought this car based on its reputation of being a long-lasting vehicle with very few problems. Now knowing the Honda/the roanoke dealership is lying, my trust in Honda has been shaken.
Engine noise on cold start. Honda states a defective vtc actuator. TSB 09-010.
Incident date: 12/05/2011, 5:45pm weather/road condition: good, no rain/snow, normal traffic pattern summary: accord 2012 lx had a sudden engine rev for about a couple of seconds and went back to normal without driver intervention. Minor gas pedal vibration noticed for first 500 miles during break-in. Details: I was driving Accord 2012 lx on a local main street at about 20 to 25 mph, entering a normal small slope. I suddenly heard louder engine noise, and noticed tachometer going up from below 2k to 3k rpm quickly. At the same time, I felt gas pedal was moving away from my right foot. Eventually the gas pedal came back and tachometer reading went back to normal as well. This lasted for a couple of seconds. I did not move my right foot away from gas pedal and did not intervene while this was happening. Since this sudden engine rev went away in a couple of seconds by itself, I didn't feel that the Accord accelerated a lot during the period. During first 500 miles on the Accord, I also felt minor gas pedal vibration frequently on roads that are not perfectly paved and have some minor bumps. I have never noticed any such gas pedal vibration on other cars when driving down on the same roads. The vibration became less pronounced after 500 miles, and I didn't notice it lately. I am not sure if there is any relationship between initial gas pedal vibration during break-in and recent engine rev incident. I am concerned about highway safety of the car.
Since I purchased this car, the engine vibrates, power steering makes noise (and the pump was replaced by dealer), now it also vibrates when riding (wheel) and brakes make a "clamping" noise that Honda assures me is normal. At 7k miles, the brakes were "adjusted". The car is now 14. 5k miles and still vibrates in idle and when riding. I have filed a lemon law claim with the state of florida already, though Honda is working on proving I am wrong. Do I just get rid of the car? is this car safe? lemon law arbitration case #[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Honda Accord ex-v6, 2003, purchased new. Developed engine noise at just over 60,000 kilometers that has increased in volume over the winter. Honda dealer has diagnosed piston slap. Honda canada states that piston slap is acceptable in a cold Honda engine for up to 5 minutes and ". . . That although piston slap is present, there are no operational issues with your vehicle. . . . ". The desk man at the Honda dealer states that his Honda also has piston slap.
The vehicles automatic transmission would slip between first and second gear. The interior lights were intermittent, the alternator was found faulty and made noises, and there was moaning coming from the engine area at times. The consumer requested reimbursement.

I purchased a 2003 Honda Accord in October 2002 - I have had the brakes/rotors replaced twice. I'm concerned over safety. What recourse is available once the car is no longer under warranty and I am going through brakes and rotors approximately every 8000 miles? in addition, I noticed very soon after purchase that at initial start up, and until car had been driven for awhile there is a "chatter" noise. I thought at first it was my imagination, as this was something had heard in older cars - such as a lifter chatter. It has become increasingly noticeable and at some start up times sounds like a diesel. At apprx 23,000 I requested the dealer to check for the noise, but by the time the car gets to the dealer there is no longer the cold start, and it no longer makes the noise.
Engine compartment makes noise, unable to identify source. Mjs.
