When car turned on, rpm needle zoomed up to 4 and would not go down. Towed car and fixed transmission for $2000. Just a little over a year later, delay in shifting. Electronics of transmission were fixed. One month later, rpm needle jerking and hopping, car not responding well to gas input. Thank goodness all these incidents were on local roads and lots by my home. Imagine on the freeway or busy roads with my 6 year old in the back. Time for a recall!.

I have had my transmission go out twice in my 2000 Honda Accord. Each time, the gears start clunking while shifting and shortly after the transmission fails and is completely useless. Currently, my car will rev up like it's in neutral and then spontaneously slam into gear and slip back into neutral again which has, again, ruined the transmission. This is a recurrent problem and nothing has been done to make the issue better.

My 2009 Honda Accord ex with only 32k miles on it started to consume oil very quickly. While the % oil life remaining indicator said I have 30% life remaining, the dipstick did not register any oil on it. I'm glad that I checked, because I shudder at the possibility of a car crash due to the engine dying on the highway. When I took the car to the dealership, they handed my a printed out sheet that stated that a loss of 1 qt per 1000miles is considered normal. How is that possible??? this is a serious defect that Honda does not want to admit to.
Engine starts shacking and makes wheezing noises , whenever I drive it.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the engine was burning excessive amounts of engine oil and fouled the spark plugs. In addition, the engine oil was entering into the cylinder causing the spark plugs to be changed more frequently than normal. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer several times. The contact stated that the engine needed replacing. The dealer and manufacturer would not replace the engine. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 59,000.
Car engine raced while sitting in neutral. Unintended acceleration.
I have 34,000 miles on my 2008 Honda Accord ex, the engine has been revving when I reach approx 2,000 rpm and the dealer tells me this is normal. The car began making this sound only a few months ago, so it is not normal. I am also told that my rear brakes are already worn and need replaced ASAP. The cost of the brakes to be replaced is over $500, which seems a little steep, especially with Honda already having settled the lawsuit over this models brake issues.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle seemed as if it would suddenly turn off so the contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The contact then restarted the vehicle but the issue continued to occur once on the road. The contact called an authorized dealership and was informed that the valves did not feed properly and slipped causing misfires. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,800. The current mileage was approximately 57,000.
Variable cylinder management transmission unexpectedly surges in traffic. In heavy traffic, or slippery road conditions, a sudden unexpected surge in the car could result in hitting the car in front.
Honda 2001 Accord v6 has stuttering start problem , occasionally engine stops after starting. I contacted Honda USA who said that there was an advisory about it but refused to compensate me for replacing the engine control module (ecm). I went ahead and had the ecm fixed as I was concerned that the car would "die" on the road while driving. I now read that other manufacturers are replacing the ecm as part of a recall because of the safety implication of this issue. The date of the incident is an approximate date inserted for your advisory completion. I have had the car for several years and the problem occurs in spring and fall due to gas formulation changes.
Engine stops running at idle or while driving, is difficult to restart. Dealer could not reproduce. No engine error codes found. Occurred on more than one occasion.
I own a 2009 Honda Accord ex-l. I am having problems with the engine not accelerating when needed to in emergency. I have come close to accidents twice so far on the highway since the car would not give me pick up when I needed to steer clear of trucks and cars. I have complained to two dealers, one in new jersey and the other in mass. Both dealers told me that the car is fine when it isn't. At full throttle going from 1000rpm upto 6000rpm there is no pick up what so ever. It is the same as going normal speed and pick up. This is a family car and I drive with my two kids in there less then 5 yrs of age. I've had this issue since I purchased the car and it was my mistake that I did not test drive it prior to purchase. I've owned several Honda Accords since 96 and none of them have had this serious dangerous problem. Please look into this issue. I am stuck with an expensive lemon.

My husband and I purchased a 2004 Honda Accord. Before bringing the car back to autofair Honda in manchester, new hampshire; we reported numerous times of a burning smell coming from the car. The smell was so bad that we called our city's fire department. The firefighters could see and smell the smoke coming from the engine. We made the owner of the dealership aware of the problems with the car and never once did the dealership put the car up on the lift or do a computer test to find the cause of the problem. However, with knowledge of the problem they resold the car to another party without fixing the problem.

My "malfunction indicator lamp' on my 6 cylinder 2000 Honda Accord came on. The dealer let me know that their diagnostics pointed to a problem with cylinder #4. He had me authorize a $1000 "tear down the engine" estimate in case my extended warranty didn't cover the repair. American Honda corp sent their adjuster to determine that it was excessive carbon build up in the engine which is not covered by my extended warranty. The dealer had the parts sent to a machinist to determine if there is a damaged part in the cylinder that would be covered under warranty. I have been given a $2300 approximate repair bill to pay on my own if no damage is found. Not that long ago, I spent $300 at the dealership cleaning a carbon build up problem that was causing my accelerator to stick.
: the contact stated the check engine lamp illuminated. The problems persisted for over a year. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection numerous times. The dealer replaced a valve in the engine; however, the problem still existed.
The contact stated the balance shaft seal popped out of the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop. They stated the engine seal failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted. They offered no free remedy. No repairs have been made.

2005 Honda Accord accelerates unexpectedly every time at cold engine start. The rpm is 1,500 when cold. With foot on brake the rpm drops to 1,000. When the brake is released the car will start to roll for about 2 seconds and then suddenly the rpm jumps back to 1500 and the vehicle accelerates to almost 10 mph.

A fire started underneath the vehicle while driving 40 mph. The location of the fire was a little behind the right front tire area. Other passing by motorists were flagging down the consumer to make her aware of a fire. Vehicle was pulled over, and the consumer got out of the vehicle. Local fire department arrived to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire had not been determined. Prior to the fire the brakes function was reduced while the consumer was trying to stop in an intersection. This was immediately followed by the abs light illuminating on the dash.
I purchased my 2005 Honda Accord in February. It started missing out a few days later. When it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear it feels like I am running over washboards. This happens a few times. I have taken my car to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle, four times and they can not diagnose the problem. A few of the excuses that they have given me are my abs are not working correctly, I have a heated garage which is causing condensation- (I do not have a heated garage), or I keep buying bad fuel. A service technician felt the miss, but Honda dismissed it because they said that she was not a certified technician, and they could not go by her word. They have documented that my car does have a miss, but they can not locate the problem. Too say the least my car has been somewhat of a headache, and no one seems to know what the problem is, or even care to help.
Car hesitates on start up, takes two times to start car on numerous occasions. Dealer states that can not duplicate the problem and system checks fine.
While driving vehcile caught fire. Deadlership found that the sound deadening material came too close to the heat of the engine.
Honda replaced the transmission and engine for a 2002 Honda Accord. The transmission went out again. They will not fix it. I found out that there was no recall for this problem, but Honda would fix it if questioned the cost. They put in the same transmission that was bad in the first place. I had to buy a new car. A friend of mine has the same problem and they are replacing the transmission. Why is there no recall for this?.
