Last night my dashboard lost electricity for about 2 seconds and my engine stalled. I also lost power steering control. After 2 seconds, electrical components of the dashboard returned to normal, as did the power steering and engine, and everything was fine. This morning, I drove on a street & smoke entered the cabin area of the car & I pulled over immediately to a nearby gas station. I opened the hood and the battery (positive terminal) was fully engulfed in flames. A gentleman put out the fire with water from the gas station. My battery is 1/4 melted, due to the fire. Other plastic parts of the engine are also slightly melted. I called gardena Honda (in los angeles CA) and they told me my 2016 Honda Accord was not part of the battery sensor recall but the service person told me that she had seen my email and forwarded it to her supervisor, and that she would speak to him to see what they could do (given the car is apparently not part of the recall). She called me back and told me that her supervisor said to immediately bring it into the gardena, CA Honda dealership, which I did. Upon arrival (with a CO-worker who took time to help me drop off the car) the service people told me they would definitely be charging me at least $160 for a diagnosis. I then explained to them that I was misled, as when I initially called I was told that she would check to see what they could do and that she would call me back. At no time did she say I would be charged for anything. Instead, she mislead me by saying she had spoken to her supervisor and that he said to bring it in immediately. They mislead me, wasted my time, and are putting people's lives in danger as although my vehicle (2016 Honda Accord with VIN is apparently not part of the recall, my car's battery caught fire and I am sure other people's car's will also catch fire. The recall should be expanded beyond the current list.

While on a trip driving on an interstate at 72 mph, in busy traffic, with cruise control on, the engine stalled. I rolled to a stop on the shoulder, and the car didn't restart. Engine lights came on, but all electronics (radio, computer screens) were working. Honda towed (under warranty) to their nearest dealership. After checking out the car, and telling me it restarted and displayed no diagnostic codes, I was sent on my way. I was told it was safe to drive as there was no problem. Still on a trip, and about 500 miles later, I was again on the interstate passing a group of semi's on about a 5% grade, with cars in front of and behind me, when the engine stalled again. This time was much scarier as I was in the passing lane, and the right shoulder was blocked by a long string of semi's. It was dangerous trying to get to the right shoulder as there were cars in front of and behind me also. I was traveling at 78 mph with cruise control on when this happened. The car restarted this time, and with it being a weekend and the service department closed, I continued home the final 550 miles (in the right lane) without incident. This was the 3rd time the engine has stalled. The first was when I was in heavy traffic on the interstate, in stop and go traffic. The temperature was 109, and at the time (car had about 10,000 miles on it) I attributed it to the temperature even though the car didn't overheat. It restarted immediately this car is the 6 speed (manual), 6 cylinder, coupe model.

My 2014 Honda Accord coupe has 33,900+ miles and for the past year, I have had it in to fox Honda in grand rapids four times for the same problem. The problem is, that it stutters often when accelerating and twice, the engine has stalled out and had to be restarted. Fox motors plugs a computer into the car and they tell me that there are no reports of any problems and they can't fix what they can't detect. Two days ago, while driving to the va hospital in battle creek, I pulled out into traffic on anderson rd/street and the car stalled and a fedex semi had to drive onto shoulder and onto a yard to keep from hitting us and if he hadn't, we might have been killed. I took the car into fox motors and they are standing pat, refusing to help us. They did offer to buy the car back from me, but for a terrible price and I asked them what they would do with it and they dealership manager said that they would resell it with confidence and I refused to sell it to them if they were going to resell it with a service certification. How dare them do that! I don't know what to do next.
Upon trying to accelerate, the engine hesitated then stalled. Upon restarting and attempting to accelerate, the engine surged forward. Driving on the freeway the engine lost power momentarily then reengaged. The a. C. /climate control is again not functioning properly, and the hands-free phone function disconnected multiple times. The car was taken the car to a Honda dealership approximately one week ago to have the air conditioning defect repairs completed. At that time they were unable to repair the trunk lid that has been falling down since I took possession of the vehicle in July 2014. The trunk lid falls at will.
Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently and the engine stalled. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the stater need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the contact was informed the pressure was down and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown. Ak.

In January, three weeks after driving 1000 miles to florida the engine started to miss and with in a mile I could not go 10 miles a hour. I had the car towed to the fort myers, florida Honda dealer. I was told one of the rear spark plugs was loose and the blow-by over-heated the spark plug causing the inside of the plug to come loose fall inside the head thus causing damage to the engine. The coil mounted to the spark plug was charred indicating very high temperature from the blow-by. The plug was loose in the socket indicating it was not tighten securely. The top of the plug is still in-place on the spark plug. I have the parts. The engine had the fluids check and oil changed every 4000 miles and normal maintenance performed. I do most of my own maintenance and had no reason to check the spark plugs. I keep track of gasoline usage and the car had no change in gas consumption, an indication of bad sparkplugs. Over all usage of 22 m/g. The suggestion of the service manager was that the lease expensive way to get back to my home in ohio was to have a used engine installed. It took over a week. I now have almost $5000 more invested in the car because of faulty manufacturing.

While driving on the highway the engine stalled/failed, windshield wipers stopped working and it felt like the ignition switch was the cause of the failure. Headlights were working along with the dash lights. During the stalling period - I pulled over and came to a stop on the highway. Soon there after, the engine came on and I began to drive again. This happened twice during a 30 minute ride while it was raining. Very dangerous.

The contact did not seek medical attention. The contact mentioned that the vehicle moved after being shifted into park and the engine warning indicator was illuminated. I purchased a new Honda Accord ex, 4 door sedan on may 26, 2014. On June 1, 2014, I was at red traffic light (zero mile speed) and car was in drive position. I tried to adjust the temperature, but by mistake I pressed the start engine switch button instead of controlling the temperature switch, which is just next to engine switch. Surprisingly the result was that my car turned off. On June 2, 2014, I contacted Honda directly and the representative informed me that even if you are at street or highway speed and if you press the start switch for 2 seconds, the car engine will turn off at whatever the speed of car is, resulting in your car speed change, if you press the power switch and it will turn off your engine to 0 mph in a matter of a second. I am very scared about this safety feature and now have many concerns, as listed below: 1. Why is the start switch so close to the air-condition control switch? 2. The engine should not be able to turn off while the car is in driving mode. 3. Since all of the controls are by right hand, the engine switch should be installed on the left hand side, so it cannot turn off, even by mistake, and no one in the car can reach this switch except the driver. I hope you understand that a very important safety feature is needed please reply to me at your convenience, thank you.

Engine stalls without warning. Engine stalls immediately after starting despite multiple attempts to start. Problems are random and occur both in traffic and when parked. Problem started mid-2007 with momentary loss of engine power (<1 sec) combined with loss of power to instrument cluster. Problem is much worse now. Engine now stalls and does not restart for 2-3 minutes which is very dangerous in traffic. Incident date is the latest date.
