36 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

I received an initial Honda recall notice on March 2024 regarding a recall and have been trying to reach out Honda dealership to get updates on the parts but they always say its on backorder and they even do not have an option for us to order the parts or place us in que for the next order. Would like to bring this to NHTSA attention and get some help with it.

37 Seat Belt problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/07/2024

When I am driving alone, the rear seat belt sign goes on and the alarm starts ringing, as if someone took off their seat belt off. No one in back seat. Was confirmed by dealer on 07/01/24. They performed hard reset. Passenger sat on rear seat behind driver and put on seat belt, the sign showed the middle seat passenger didn't have their seat belt on, there was no one there. The problem started after I took the car for a recall about the seatbelt. 02/07/24, safety recall 23-098, seatbelt pretensioner inspection.

38 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/18/2023

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and it was diagnosed that a part of the vehicle's failures did relate to the recall. The dealer was able to repair the seat belt however they had informed the contact that they would not be able to service the vehicle for the recall till parts were available late August of 2024. The contact stated that they have to turn on the emergency lights for the vehicle to function properly however without doing so the vehicle would display a hesitation and jerking sensation when starting and or accelerating. If the vehicle is being driven without these lights activated, after driving for a short amount of time the vehicle's emergency lights would illuminate. The check engine light, abs light, and seat belt failure light are a few of the lights that would illuminate. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 174,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

39 Seat Belt problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/16/2023

The 2023 Honda Accord sport hybrid has 8302 miles and it had complete brake failure. We had just refueled the car and moving away from the pumps, the pedal sank to the floor. I pumped the brakes several times and was able to stop the car. This was at about 3mph. Received a message on the dash that the brakes were compromised and not to drive the car. Shut the car off and restarted. The brake pedal was spongy. We drove home (about 2 miles) very slowly, using the brakes minimally. When I got home, I shut the car off. I decided I wanted a picture of the dash warning, but it didn't return. Went for a very low speed drive to try to duplicate the problem, but it seems normal now. Bringing to original dealer, 12-17-2023. We've had several other issues related to the parking brakes and cruise control on 11-13-23. Brought to dealer on 11-16-23 and they were unable to fix due to part shortage. They failures displayed are: 1 - brake system - parking brake not available. 2 - brake system - brake hold system problem. 3 - adaptive cruise control system problem. The drivers side rear seatbelt will not retract. Brought to dealer waiting for part to repair. We are fortunate this happened in a parking lot with little traffic. If this happened on a roadway at speed I would have no way to slow the car. This is a hybrid so I am not able to downshift, the parking brake is not functioning due to previous problem and the electronic drive doe not provide compression braking if I shut the car off. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have.

40 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/12/2023

Front passenger side seat belt does not lock into place. Nothing is obstructing it, we were told it is not covered under the vehicles warranty and have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. Isn’t this a safety hazard?.

41 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2023

Supplemental restraint system problem.

42 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/08/2023

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at 10 mph and distracted, she crashed into a lamppost on the front driver's side of the vehicle. The air bags deployed. During the impact, the driver's seat belt failed to retract and secure the driver. No warning lights were illuminated. There was cosmetic damage but it was not severe due to the collision being minor and at low speeds. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop and the mechanic did not provide a diagnosis however, the mechanic informed the contact that the part to do the repair was unavailable. No police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

43 Seat Belt problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

The seat belt buckle in the back seat on the right side just easily came right out. If I were to have gotten in an accident whoever was sitting there could have been badly hurt due to the seat belt buckle malfunction. I still have yet to get if fixed because it is such a serious safety issue I’m unsure of who to trust to fix it to where it is as safe as it was supposed to have been.

44 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

I keep intermittently getting a supplemental restraint system error. I have been on forums with other vehicle owners getting the same error. The dealer says it is a bad airbag while others are saying it could be two other less expensive remedies they have encountered such as a faulty cutoff indicator that gets overheated and the solders come loose as well as a faulty seatbelt buckle assembly. This is not a constant issue, it is intermittent and feel if the airbag was faulty it would be a constant error.

45 Seat Belt problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/03/2023

Driver's seat and seatbelt hurt my right hip, and strike the hip socket, because of the unusual position of the bucket seat. It's so bad, I want to get rid of this car! it's hard to walk after driving. It's extremely fatiguing.

46 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/27/2023

The seat belt has been buckled but disconnects once I drive. It has trouble connecting when I get in car. I have to push it in and pull for it to connect. I asked washington Honda about recall and they said none were issued. I've never spilled food in it as I rarely have food in car.

47 Seat Belt problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/04/2023

Traffic bumper to bumper as 5 pm, stop and go near traffic lights. Tapped SUV ahead and despite very very slow speed and not even scratch on my 2009 Honda Accord coupe - the drivers air bag deployed & seatbelt locked up. Contacted Honda corporate where they opened case and promised “taking care of, shouldn’t have happened, and not to worry”. 2 weeks later Honda changed response when I called for update and told me to deal with my insurance company. Very unpleasant & unprofessional. Car evaluated and needed seatbelt & air bag replacement. They too confirmed not even scratch front of car, only has 83k miles! now everyone claiming no seatbelts available.

48 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/12/2023

Seat belt: multiple instances where the seat belth latch does not fully engage causing the seat belt to unlatch while I'm driving. Engine/fuel: car bogs down specially with hotter weather. Stalled twice in the past month. When attempted to restart the car, it would crank but it would not be able to fully start. I had my mechanic check the battery, fuses, and even use a scan tool with no issues to be found. The car would eventually start 30-45 minutes after it has cooled down. There is suspicion it is the fuel pump and there is a recall out for this same year, make, and model car but apparently, my VIN was not included in the recall so my local dealer is not able to honor it. I am concerned that this will turn into a bigger problem or worse, that it will happen when I driving down the highway.

49 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/22/2023

Supplemental restraint system error appears on dash unit, at first intermittently and now at all times. I am wondering if this could be related to a recall on seatbelts which apparently does not apply to my VIN but does to other 2018 Honda Accords.

50 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/19/2023

Lf diver side belt loosens up and has had a rattling noise . The braking system has happened 4 times one almost causing an accident behind me for randomly braking . And suspension has caused me two sets of tires in one year and 3 alignments.

51 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/17/2023

My car keeps indicating a supplemental restraint system issue then goes away I’m not sure what’s going on but I’ve seen several other complaints about this same issue with Honda.

52 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/11/2023

I had a recall on my seatbelt and after I did the recall now my airbag resistant light is coming on and I don’t think they’re going to look at it without charging me when it never came on until they done the seatbelt so I’m not sure if I got a defective part and they need to replace it or what but I don’t think I should have to pay for it since it was just fine till they done the recall.

53 Seat Belt problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/07/2023

Upon removing the driver seat belt after a trip today, I noticed the buckle release button was sticking down. I re-inserted the buckle, and heard the "click" sound indicating the buckle was securely fastened. I applied tension on the belt buckle, which released without pressing the button! I searched the internet for recalls, and found the 2018-2019 Honda Accord was recalled for a seat belt release button repair. However, there was no information about a recall for the 2020 model year, which I experienced this issue with. My safety has been put at risk as I am unsure how long the belt buckle has been able to be removed without pressing the buckle release button. I have not yet contacted Honda about the concern. A video is available and this issue is repeatable. There were no warning messages. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

54 Seat Belt problem of the 2005 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/03/2023

The contact owned a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 35 mph and attempting to pass a vehicle on the right side of the road, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and pulled to the left side of the road and towards the median. The contact did not recall whether a warning light was illuminated. The vehicle crashed into the pole of a traffic sign, and the traffic sign broke the windshield. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts pretensioners failed to engaged, causing the contact to hit her head against the windshield. The shattered pieces of the windshield were propelled to the contact. The contact stated that she was unconscious for an hour. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency units. The contact sustained severe headaches and was advised to follow up with a neurologist. Additionally, the contact sustained minor lacerations on the legs and arms. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

55 Seat Belt problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/21/2023

I have reported that software cannot be updated on my car. Since my first report my rear seatbelts no longer need to be fastened with children in the car or the seat belt notification of not being fastened does not work. My air conditioner will stop if my infotainment system needs to be adjusted through my phone, and today in the rain my brakes locked up twice. The latter occurrence was coming down 1000 foot downhill in the rain with a car in front and an 18 wheeler behind me.

56 Seat Belt problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/07/2023

If using remote start to start the vehicle, and then you get into the vehicle, the seatbelt chime will not chime after you turn the car all the way on. It will only chime once the engine is powered on initially, during remote start where the driver will not hear it.

57 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/03/2023

Srs light went on while driving.

58 Seat Belt problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/03/2023

The seatbelt fabric seems to be wearing/rubbing off. Every time I buckle up, I have a bunch of its fabric all over my shirt. Thinking after a little more uses that the seatbelt will thin itself out a break or pop and won’t be strong enough to protect me.

59 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/15/2023

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v158000 (seat belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Parts distribution disconnect.

60 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/11/2023

Honda issued a recall notice for repairing seat belts that fail on this vehicle, assuring customers the repair would be a quick one hour replacement. I learned from mark anderson at findlay Honda in las vegas in April 2023 that this is an outright lie. Honda requires the repair facility to photograph the seat belt, submit the photos and if it looks like it needs replacement, they will send out the parts. During this time, which can take 2 days According to mr. Anderson, the car is forcefully sequestered and Honda will not provide a loaner car. As this renders the repair process a costly burden for the customer, Honda is assuring their customers remain at risk of death or severe injury due to failing seat belts they will not replace.

61 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/11/2023

The left passenger seatbelt will not retract - supposed to be a lifetime warranty and as a result airbag indicator light is on, so I take it to the dealer and they tell me seatbelts are on back order and they said it could be months or even years before I get a seatbelt and there is no eta for it to arrive. So now, I have to drive the vehicle with no seatbelt and non-working airbags risking tickets or worse loss of life. This is unacceptable. What is the point of a lifetime warranty .

62 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/01/2023

Unknown - I have a 2004 Honda Accord which indicates an airbag issue. The seat belt buckles but the light stays on. Many 2004 Accords were in a recall over srs but my VIN did not show as part of the recall. The dealer says the seat sensor is bad but they are not making the part any longer. What should I do. I guess the maker should replace with a new system.

64 Seat Belt problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/27/2023

I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the srs system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the srs wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.

65 Seat Belt problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/20/2023

The driver's side seat belt does not latch. The problem started 3 months ago. We contacted Honda dealer and was told it is not part of the Honda seat belt recall as the recall relates to Honda models 2018-2020. However please note it is the same exact problem with the seat belt in my car. I have been using the passenger side latch to buckle the seatbelt. I contacted Honda corporation and was told to have the car inspected by local Honda dealer and provide them with a inspection report. Honda corporation is not willing to fix the seatbelt issue. I am informing your agency so you can take appropriate action and include the older models of Honda with the same seat belt problem as the current recall on Honda before someone get injured due to the fact they are using passenger seat belt latch. Also we are unable to use the passenger seat. Please give this matter urgent attention as it is a big safety issue.

66 Seat Belt problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/03/2023

Rear seat passenger seat belt stopped working. Passenger indicated seat belt wouldn't buckle. Dealer inspected the seat belt and ordered the seat belt buckle on 2/3/2023. Part was ordered at highest priority, but estimated release date from Honda's vendor is 5/28. Four months without critical safety part seems excessive. Honda customer service is unable to do anything to expedite availability of part from their vendor.
