I bought a new 2013 Honda Accord 2dr ex-l v6 off the floor of the dealership on April 1, 2014. The dealer had changed the standard 18 in wheels to 19's and the standard good year tires to brivery dgestone turanza el 400 02's. After I had put about 3,500 miles on the car, a small staple (1/16 in deep) punctured one tire just between the wall and the tread, and the wall failed and it ran flat. I took it back to the dealer and they said there was no warranty on these tires. There was a good year tire warranty booklet in the glove box but no bridgestone booklet for the turanza's. When I put the spare tire on to take the car back to the dealer, I learned that the spare was mounted on a 17 in rim and was not a low profile tire like the turanza's. My complaints are (1) the 17 inch standard tire for a spare when it is 2 inches smaller than the other tires and is not a low profile. I am worried that if I drive very far on the spare I will damage running gear or break an axle due to these differences. (2) all the turanza's on the Honda say they were made in japan and when I tried to register the tires on line with bridgestone, it asked for a city and dot. The dot is ejn1jhe3612 but there is no city on the tire so can't register it. The bridgestone website lists locations of manufacturing plants but none are listed in japan. Am I running knock-off bridgestone tires? and (3) the tire failed at the intersection between the wall and the tread from a very small staple that barely stuck to the rubber and it should not have were it made to industry standards. Thank you.

Purchased a set of four new hankook ventus v12 evo tires back in June 2013. I drive very little- have only 30k in my '08 vehicle. I was planning a road trip this month & of course did all that was necessary including a vehicle checkup. After driving about 2 hours on the highway (w/ a break after an hour, which included another vehicle checkup), the steering wheel starting shaking violently & I saw smoke coming from the side of my car through my side view mirror. Pulled over to find that one of my tires was completely blown out & the side wall was torn. I was in complete shock. These were new tires- only a year old, with considerable tread on them. There was no reason for it to get blown out like this. Called aaa for roadside assistance & they had to put a spare tire on. I was hundreds of miles away from home & from my destination & there were no tire shops open in the area. Had to drive close to 100 miles, in the middle of the night with the emergency lights on at 50 mph to get to a 24 hr tire shop. First shop didn't have my tire size, but second one did. Tire was inspected & there was no other damage or adverse objects found with the tire other than the sidewall being torn & the tire blown out. Had no choice but to pay for a new tire (they had no used tire), since I was still hundreds of miles away from home & my destination, & I couldn't keep driving with a spare tire on. I ended up paying a hefty fee for the new tire & other charges. I initially paid a very high amount, for what I thought were quality tires from hankook, apparently I was very wrong. After this experience I will never buy hankook tires again.

On July 17th, 2010, I had 4 brand new falken zeix ze 912 installed on my car. Approximately 5 miles from the dealership, while driving on the freeway, the front right tire blew out. See odi number 10344123)
today, August 14th, 2010, while driving down the freeway, the left front tire blew out. I had the spare tire put onto the car and drove to the dick hanna Acura of portland, oregon; the dealership that installed the new tires on July 17th. The dealership reported that they could tell from observation that the car ran over a pot hole which caused the blow out. I explained that I was on the freeway and there were no pot holes. I also stated that it seems bizarre that a tire would not be able to hold up even if there were pot holes on the freeway. I reminded them that it was only one month ago that the right front tire blew out. At this point, the tire will obviously have to be replaced. The dealership did not have the appropriate tire in stock thus still has by car until at least Monday. This appears to be a huge red flag with these tires. I requested that the dealership review the tires and give me a written confirmation that all the tires are safe prior to me picking up my car.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact drove over something in the road and the tire blew out. Aaa was called to replace the tire; however, there was no spare tire in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then to a tire repair shop. The dealer stated that her model year was the only year that did not have a spare supplied in the vehicle. The manufacturer offered no assistance in replacing the tire. The current mileage was approximately 71,600 and failure mileage was approximately 71,550.
The trunk lid is not stable when lifted up and will fall down easily. For many times, when we are loading stuff into the trunk, the trunk lid will fall down unexpected. The action of puting a luggage or grocery bag into the trunk will shake the car a little bit, which is normal for most cars, but the unusual thing for this Honda Accord is that the trunk lid will fall down by this shaking. I was hit by the trunk lid several times and I would expect some serious injury could happen to someone. Another complaint about the trunk lid is the sealing. I live in southen California so rain is rare. But a heavy rain caused the trunk became a pool and the trunk mat is fully soaked. Although at that time, the car was still under the Honda certified warranty, Honda told me the trunk sealing is not covered. What even angered me about Honda's service is they put an unmatched spare tire into my trunk. I found that out after having this car for more than 2 years and had a flat tire.

The manufacture did not include a spare tire in the vehicle. Instead they included a can of sealant in place of the spare. The owner's manual stated that the sealant may not work if the puncture was located outside the tread, the puncture was wider than about 3/16 of an inch, if the wheel rim was damaged, or if the tire sealant has expired. Also, owner's manual on page 230 indicated that if the consumer used the sealant it may make the tire warranty invalid the consumer was concerned because he felt that this was an inadequate way of repairing the tire. The consumer has not had the problem as of yet. The consumer contacted the manufacturer to try to get them to purchase a spare tire, and they would not. This was on 8-12-05, case number n032005081200173. The vehicle was a hybrid electric that ran on gasoline or electricity.
Spare tire provided with car is wrong size. Car is equipped with 16 inch tires with alloy rims. Spare tire is size 15 inch. When I called to ask why spare tire does not match permanent tires, I was told the 15 inch spare tire is for emergency use only. When I asked why a 16 inch spare is not provided, I was told that if Honda gave me a 16 inch tire then they would have to give everyone 16 inch spare tires.
