On August 12, 2019 I purchased 4 ohtsu fp7000 205/6016 tires from eastern state tire & automotive center in west nyack NY 10994. I drove my car about 104 miles on the new tires, and on August 15, 2019, while driving on the nys thruway, 3 of the tires went flat. As per instructions from eastern state tire, I had my car towed to prestige tire & auto service center in kingston NY 12401. And there, prestige advised me that on all 4 tires the valve stems were leaking. Thus, as 2 of the tires were damaged beyond repair, they replaced them, and replaced the valve stems on the 2 remaining tires that they salvaged. I do not know if the fault of these tire failures is in the manufacturers design/production or that of eastern tire of west nyack. I leave that determination up to you. I have the original tires for your inspection. I fear that if it is a defect in the tires, others may now be at risk. Please advise?.

2004 Honda Accord ex 5-speed manual: Dec. 2009 with 1st use of original equipment goodyear (t135/90d15 part # 818216253) donut spare tire noticed rough ride to tire shop. Ask employee to repair my flat and look over the donut spare plus rotate tires. Nothing unusual noted on donut spare. Jan. 2010 hit pothole with repaired tire which causes it to go flat. Installed goodyear donut spare. Next morning noticed spare was flat. Valve stem broken; added air twice in order to limp to tire shop. They wouldn't touch the spare and referred me to Honda. Left car at tire store. Next morning went to my Honda parts and service dealer location with spare. We noticed a hard bulge in spare sidewall. Said they don't warranty any tires only tire stores do. Only help they could give me was to send me to a local tire shop. Discount tire tried in vain to locate a new goodyear donut spare and could only find a used (manufactured week 31 of 1996) after convincing goodyear that spare was defective (air bubble formed inside spare tire then tore). How is it that goodyear doesn't make a widely used product? or have these donut spares been fraught with such problems that the product is being outlawed?.

Bridgestone weatherforce plus tires size p185/65r15 installed on 1996 Honda Accord. Tire mileage only 14,368. I was driving approx. 64mph on the freeway when the back end of my car began to wiggle and pull to the left. Next, I heard loud "flub-buddy" sounds. I immediately eased off the accelerator, punched the emergency blinking lights and made my way over to the freeway shoulder. The sidewall of the left rear tire was shredded and the stem valve was partially torn from the tire. People who helped me following the incident mentioned that the tire may have been defective. The next day I took up the matter with sears where I had purchased the tires, but the manager there put it down to "road hazard", and since I did not purchase "rh" insurance when I got the tires, he couldn't/wouldn't help me and suggested I take up the matter with bridgestone. If the incident was caused by road hazard, why weren't other cars around me affected? since then, I have researched the internet and discovered other drivers who have had problems with either this brand name and/or this tire line. I was lucky there was no one in the lane to my left when the tire malfunctioned. I hit no one nor was I hit by either the cars behind me or in the lane to my right as I made my way over to the freeway shoulder. It is to be hoped that other people with the same tires be as fortunate.

I bought 4 bridgestone weatherforce plus tires for my 2001 Honda Accord, size p19565r15. They performed well until the past month when, as of today, 3 of them went flat within a month of each other. In each case, the problem was the valve stem that broke. And it wasn't a small leak. Every time, the valve stem was practically torn from the rest of the tire. I was lucky that two of them went flat as I was parking the car, but the last one went flat while I was driving on a highway. It seems a little strange that all 3 would go flat in the exact same way in such a short time span, so I believe it is a defect with the tires. The tires have about 30,000 miles on them, but they are supposed to go for longer than this. Now, I'm just wondering when the fourth one will go and I hope it's not when I'm not close to home.

Had 4 tires and valve stems on a 1998 Honda Accord replaced in April of 2007 at gold coast auto center. In September of 2008 the first valve stem failed. Luckily I noticed the tire was continuously getting low only when the car was driven at highway speeds and was able to get the stem replaced before it caused a crash. The second stem failed in December of 2008, again while driving at highway speeds. In a water bath, the stem only leaked when it was flexed toward the outside diameter of the wheel. This is the flexing that might be expected as a result of the centrifugal force that is applied to the stem at highway speeds. In the case of the second failure, the leakage was so slow that the tire deflated and was run at highway speed for an hour or more. The tire eventually began vibrating badly, causing the vehicle to swerve. I was able to drive off the road onto the shoulder. The tires sidewall exhibited numerous bulges and was ruined. Although no one was injured while the vehicle was moving, as a result of changing the tire, I slashed my hand on the lug wrench. I took the issue back to gold coast tire and the manager said there was no rash of valve stem failures. That is a lie, as indicated by numerous reports of valve stem failures reported by consumerreports. Org. Its time for a letter writing project to our legislators.

Two tires have gone flat, one in November 2008, the second January 30, 2009 due to failure of the rubber valve stems. In both cases the valve stem was split apart near the base at the entrance to the metal wheel rim. The split appeared to be separation of rubber parts, possibly at a seam, rather than a gross tear due to some kind of physical force. The split in the rubber was not visible until the plastic wheel cover was removed. The car was parked in a locked garage when tires lost pressure and there was no evidence of any vandalism or tampering. The valve stems were replaced with new tires purchased at national tire and battery store # 603, 2435 maryland road, willow grove, PA on March 3, 2007.
Three faulty valve stems from tires plus. Three of the valve stems failed about one year after installation. Condition was similar to a blow out.
I have had two valve stem failures in as many months.
About two months ago, had tire rapidly deflate while driving at highway speeds. Using spare tire, took car to tire kingdom where they determined cause of flat tire was cracked valve stem. Tire had to be replaced as the sidewall got crushed and integrity of tire rendered it unusable. A month ago as I exited my car, I heard a hissing sound and noticed another tire had air leaking from the valve stem. I was able to inflate the tire at a nearby gas station and bring it to tire kingdom where they replaced that valve. No tire damage was caused, and the tire was still usable. Three weeks ago I drove about 30 feet off the driveway and realized another tire (completely different than the first two) had gone completely flat. Using spare tire, I returned to tire kingdom where they determined the cause of the flat was another cracked valve stem. Because the tire had a crushed sidewall, it could not be repaired and had to be replaced. I asked the mechanic to replace all 4 valve stems, and he indicated that all four of them, including the two that were replaced within the past 2 months, showed signs of dryness and slight cracking.
I bought set of yokohama tires in December 06 from tire kingdom. Soon after installation I had a "flat tire" on trip from florida to new jersey (my home). I found a tire kingdom store in the carolinas, luckily. They replaced the tire valve. In 2 year+ since then I have had at least 4-5-6 flat tires, always the valve, rather than a puncture. I don't know why it took me so long to put 2 and 2 together, but when most recent failure occurred (last week, again valve failure) I did some research and discovered the re-call of dill valves. I called dill to see what kind of compensation I can get. Not much ($ 4. 00/per incident !!! ) I don't know what I'm hoping to get. I am upset and disappointed about this, but I guess I'm lucky I didn't have serious accident during these many tire failures. Does NHTSA have any comment or recommendations?.
Tires all failed 2/2004. No apparent reason. P195/65r15. Dot ej9ncal2502 and ej9ncal2402 purchased 9/2002 aprox 20,000 miles of use.
