While traveling on the interstate at 70-74mph without warning, the tire suddenly blew out, causing the car to shake and forcing me to the shoulder, which almost led to an accident. The car was recently serviced at a Honda dealership, which noted my tire tread was in good condition. The problem appears to be with the sidewall of the tire, which blew, causing the issue.

My new car Honda Accord purchased less than a month ago, had a front passenger sidewall fail while driving about 40 mph. No potholes, smooth road. The interior sidewall failed, leading to a flat tire, damaged rim and my low tire pressure gauge never went off. I replaced the damaged tire with the spare and after driving home, the tire gauge finally went off (8 miles later).
It's wearing the tires down to the the wires on the back and the front.

Low tire pressure issues keep recurring. I noticed this since the day I bought the car. They told me that they had fixed it and this issue keep recurring. So far I have had to bring my car back for service at least 4 times since I bought it in 2022. This is a new car! I don't expect to keep having the same issue. I am not satisfied with the service at hersons Honda service. Bad business. Please help me investigate the problem. Thank you very much. Best regards, thanh d. Hoang 240-705-3001.

235/45r18 94s m+s I originally purchased these tires because they were rated #2 on top 10 anti-hydroplaning lists. After receiving the tires I realized the anti-hydroplaning characteristics are due to an unusually deep tire tread. After driving them a bit I realized that the tire compound had excessive lack of grip on lightly wet surfaces and often on dry surfaces. So they may be good for anti-hydroplaning as long as the tree depth is deep, but the worst traction for dry or slightly wet surfaces for any tire I have ever driven. Going down slight downhills with a turn is extremely dangerous even at slow speeds. This morning I was going down a short street with a slight grade and a turn at the bottom when the car failed to turn and continued straight (like on ice). These tires (same on my wife's Mazda) have had traction problems since we bought and installed them. My wife's Mazda won't go up hills with turns on dry pavement and at slow speeds without losing traction. All tires on both vehicles have decent tread depth. This is a dangerous driving condition on uphill/w turns and especially on downhill/w turns. I believe the ntsb should do an investigation into car accident deaths occurring on graded hills with turns at the top or bottom of the inclinations. The tire in suspect is the firestone winterforce 2 tire. Please investigate this to possibly save lives. And if a high accident rate is found please have these tires recalled.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord equipped with general tires, tire line: g-max as-05, tire size: 215/50/r17, dot number: cn6awd8r4020. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65-70 mph, the vehicle was vibrating and making an abnormal sound. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear passenger's side tire had an inch of tread remaining on the sidewall. The contact replaced the tire with the spare tire. The tire retailer was made aware of the failure. The tire manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire failure mileage was approximately 15,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 139,000. The VIN was unavailable.
While driving home from work at highway speeds in less than 1 minute I went from total normal driving experience to feeling like I had a vibration likely a flat. Luckily it was the back tire so I was able to safely steer off the highway. Upon inspecting the tire it was completely gone! only minimal sidewall attached to the rim on both inside and outside of the wheel. The sidewall failed approximately 1 in above the rim lip. All the way around on both sides. This is on a general gmax as-05 215/50/ zr 17 purchased in 2021 from tirerack. Com. These tires are used seasonally in addition to winter tires so they have minimal miles for being a little over 2 years old. I also recently had the car new york state inspected in the last 30 days. Upon reaching out to tire rack I learned there was a substantial recall of almost 100,000 continental and general brand tires that were " over cured". This tire is not on the list but did exactly what the description of the recalled tires had done. I do not feel safe traveling on the remaining tires and I feel other people could be in danger of this happening to this model tire. I just want to keep myself and other safe and feel like I'm going to get stonewalled with a retailer on warranty. Also want to keep others from potential harm as this had happened on my front wheel in the middle of rush hour traffic it could have been disastrous and deadly! up until this I loved these tires they were sporty, great handling, quiet and wearing very evenly and seem to be long-lasting so far. I hope continental/general does the right thing by adding this tire to the recall list. Also this car was recently new york state inspected less than 30 days ago there is ample tread and the tires have been diligently rotated and they are only on the car for 7 months at a time as I have a set of general winter tires that I switch between seasonally.
Was driving and tire system went off pulled over and tire was cut all they way around like someone cut it off the rim.
Bfg advantage control p235/40r19 tire sidewall has a bulge as well as a crack in the bulge. Noticed while I was walking past tire. If this wasn’t seen before hand the possibility of an accident could’ve occurred.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord equipped with michelin tires , tire line :lion promac mx4. Tire size 235/40/r19/ the contact stated that while driving at highway speed the driver's rear tire separated from the inside out. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called the local dealer but the tire was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed him about a replacement tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated there was a complete failure of tire separation and cap. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200.
235/40r19 is the tire size. All 4 tires were purchased in October of 2021 and at that time the vehicle had 34,014 miles on it. I purchased the firestone firehawk tires model 004349 firehawk as bl xl 96v, with a 50k limited thread life warranty. Now, on 02/03/2023, I went in for my routine scheduled tire rotation and oil change and was advised I need all new 4 tires. The technician brought me to the vehicle and showed me that the sidewall in the side facing under the vehicle has major separation, cracking, and metal showing through along the time and bead/sidewalk of the tire. This damage was on all four tires and at multiple areas along the rim base. The technician said he never seen tires do this on all four at the same time but offered no explanation as to how or why this happened. All they could do was prorate the existing thread life warranty but nothing else. I explained to the technician that this wasn’t a thread life issue and it was a major defect in these tires to separate and crack like they did on all four tires. I told him this could have caused a 4 tire blowout and was a huge safety concern that needed to be addressed with firestone corporation. Nonetheless, they brushed it off and offered new tires or I could take the car like it was and go elsewhere. I again told them these tires were only 16 months old and 38k miles on them and that they should not have failed like they did, especially not all 4 at the same time. One tire I could understand, but all four of the same brand tire installed at the same time failed. So with no real other options to go elsewhere, as it was already past 5pm on a Friday and I lived an hour away, I had no choice but to purchase tires there, as my safety and the safety of others around me could be seriously injured or killed if I left driving on those damaged tires. I’ve included pictures of two of the tires as they had already lowered the car down so I couldn’t take the other 2. Both invoices are attached as well.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle drove over a manhole cover, causing the passenger's side front rim to cut the tire and cause a blowout. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the passenger's side front tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

My tires were purchased new on 11/6/21 from les scab in portland, or. And are continental extremecontact dws06plus, size 235/40zr-19. A few weeks after purchase the tpms came on so I had the tires checked at les schwab. I was told all the tire were low, likely due to weather. Within a couple weeks the tpms came on again, I returned to les schwab on 12/18/21. I was told all the tires were a little low again but that the rear drives tire was at 19 psi. I was told again it was likely weather but that the rear drivers tire was a little lower than the rest and if the tpms came on again to return. On the evening of 12/23/21 the tpms came on again. I took my car to les schwab again and about 11am and was told they could fill the tires, but they could try to find and fix the problem because they would close at 1pm and they did not have time but to bring it back on Monday. Despite my pleas, they refused. I tried calling the regional manager at his store but every time I called someone answered and either hung up or put the call on hold but did not answer. On 12/25/21 at about 6:50pm while driving about 55 mph on the I-5 freeway in portland, or. , I was in the center lane and heard a loud pop. My stirring wheel pulled right and as I held tight, I heard another loud, dull, grinding noise from the front passenger side of the car. I slowed, turned on my hazard lights and waited for traffic to stop so I could pull to the side of the freeway. I looked and saw that the front passenger side tire tread had completely detached from the sidewall. I then called to have to car towed back to my home.

[235/40r19 96v xl] **I am in canada, not new york, but since you are the foremost authority on recalls, canada usually follows*** tires came with car, brand new, September 2017. In year 2, I noticed a repeated noise coming from the tires and assumed it was the brakes and had them serviced. During my research, I found many articles and complaints from Honda Accord drivers with the similar model and tire set-up as me complaining about this persistent noise from the tires and it was determined that the steel belt inside the tire has loosened or something and is free within the tire, causing this noise. I stumbled upon a NHTSA recall notice on continental tires for this exact reason, however the year of my car is not included within this recall. This is my request, to have the 2017 model year, where Honda mixed between michelin tires and continental tires - and for owners like me to be reimbursed with a new set of tires, free of cost. Per the NHTSA recall, this overheating during the manufacturing process causes the steel belt to become free and could cause a blow out. I would like my car and model of tire and the yom to be included within this recall notice. . Read more...

Very unusual pattern of tread breakdown on federal formoza fd1 passenger car tires noted. Note this is not the "super steel" model indicated in the database entry. The dialogue did not provide "formoza" models for selection. Tread wear indicated over 3/4 of tread life remaining (car was rarely used), but car was parked outdoors in texas, and tires were 9 years old. Breakdown of tread not likely caused by wear, but rather more likely rubber compound deterioration or manufacturing problem. The tread developed fissures laterally across the entire width of the tread (not extending into the tread shoulder), evenly spaced with a fissure every 3/8ths of an inch around the entire circumference of the tires. Depth of fissures unknown. No event in the history of the tires or car can account for this bizarre pattern. The tires were judged unsafe and replaced. Photographs were taken of the pattern of damage to the tires, as well as their identification numbers.

On 11/25/15, I purchased two goodyear 225/50r17, 94v sl assur comtfd touring tires (m740kh1r1815). The tires were installed on a 2011 Honda Accord with 54556 miles. On 8/9/17 both tires were replaced at a discounted price because of defects. Mileage on the car is now 78445. Significant cracks had developed in the side wall of one of the tires and minor cracks were showing on the other suggestive of the same problem. The worst cracks were 4 to 5 inches in length and posed a danger of sudden highway failure. This is the first time I've seen such defects in tires in 50 plus years of driving. The fact both tires showed similar defects raises questions as to the possibility of a manufacturing defect that may involve an entire production batch or something larger. While our detection and correction of the problem may have prevented a life-threatening issue for our family, other families may be riding on defective tires of this type and not be aware of it.
Goodyear assurance fuel max tires with 41,000 miles on a 2014 Honda Accord have pieces of rubber coming out of them. The balancing and alignment are fine and air pressure is at 33 psi. Tires are rotated at every service, approximately 5,000 miles. I have tried to send pictures to goodyear headquarters and they refuse to allow me to do so. They only accept the word of the authorized dealer who stated it is a result of driving on gravel roads, which has never taken place. They were willing to do a partial wear adjustment, but they will not go the 50% as stated in the written warranty.
