Tire Problems of Honda Accord - part 2

On two of our tires the rubber cracked and completely split from the radial around 1/3 to 2/3 around the tire about 0. 25" from the wheel rim. This happened on 2 of the 4 tires (all the same dot and installed at the same time. ) the rear tires show the initial signs of the same defect but the rubber hasn't separated yet from the radial. The tires have about 45,000 miles on them installed and service by firestone. Luckilly there was not an accident, breakdown, fire, etc; however, it is very suspicious that all four tires have nearly the same defect. I have pictures of the tires. Dot y9bc clhx 3315. I have had three cooper tires fail all cs4 models. The complaint is all the same, the tire develops a side wall leak and cracks leading to low pressure and tire failure. Each one failed at 17k,15k & 22k miles. In each instance the tire was replaced with the same model cs4 cooper tire and repeats the same problem. Each one was on the front of the car and the other tires which are non cooper tires do not have this problem. The tires are defective and I will no longer buy cooper tires.

While driving on freeway, a low rumbling sound suddenly heard and in a blink saw a tire rolling in rear view mirror. A few second later flat tire warning sign came up. This all happened with 10 seconds time. I took immediate exit and park on side and found a rear tire was ripped off with about 2,3 inches left on wheel. The car was purchased new 7 months ago and was about 7500 miles at time of accident. Before the incident, all tires and car have not have any issue. At incident, traffic is light, clear weather 2 pm, road condition is great. I took wheel with rim of remnant of tire to nearby goodyear dealer and was told I could not claim warranty without the whole tire with me. The tire is goodyear eagle ls2 235/45/r18.

Hit a small pothole at less than 10 mph approaching interstate highway and then tire massive failure almost immediately when speeding up to 70 mph nearly causing fire. Have driven 50 yeras and hit mnay potholes without this type of catastrophic failure.

I have had 2 blowouts within a 3 month period of my front drivers' side goodyear weatherhandler fuel max tires. I was fortunate that it was a smooth stop but I'm concerned that I had two in such a short period of time with the tires only being 2 years old. I had my car checked out, front end checked and no problems there. The inside rim of both tires were "dry rotted" per one tire guy and unexplainable on how it would wear like it did.

Don't really know!!! firestone affinity junk tire losing air? tms light came on pulled over majority of the tire ruptured. There wasn't any magical glass or nails on the highway. Woman at the dealership lying about tire, road hazard is these generic tires, I've had better luck with junk yard tires. Only 526 miles on my 2013 Honda civic!!!.

2012 Honda Accord. Consumer states vehicle is a lemon the consumer stated since taking delivery of the vehicle, he has returned to the dealer eight times to correct a defect related to a shaking/vibration in the steering wheel which occurred at highway speeds between 60-80 mph. The vehicle was road tested by Honda service repair managers at two different dealerships for a total of over 126 miles and each time it was acknowledged and documented that a vibration in the steering wheel existed. The tires were balanced and rotated several times, but the vibration continued.

Dry rot affecting all 4 oe tires caused major danger to occupants -discovered at service verified by 4 independent retailers. Replacement of all 4 tires with approx 65% of tread life remaining.

The contact owned a 2011 Honda Accord. While driving at an unknown speed, the rear passenger side tires failed and caused the driver to enter into oncoming traffic. A head on collision occurred and the driver and passenger side frontal air bags deployed. The pressure from the deployment caused major injuries to the driver and passenger for which medical attention was received. The driver suffered injuries to the brain, a broken nose, a broken arm, and a laceration to the knee. The passenger was in a coma and sustained massive facial cuts, lacerations to the head, and the right eye was moved out of place. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact owns a 2007 Honda Accord equipped with bridgestone turanza el41 tires, tire size p195/65r15. The dot number was unknown. While the contact was driving approximately between 65 -70 mph, the front passenger side tire exploded unexpectedly. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and towed to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced with a new tire. The identical failure occurred with the rear passenger tire which was replaced. The contact stated prior to the failures the tires were inspected by a certified mechanic who informed that the tires exhibited good tire tread. The contact had concern of the potential safety risk involved with the other two tires installed on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 19,700.

The vehicle experienced a catastrophic failure of the right rear tire. The tire pressure monitering system did not indicate a problem. Tire pressure was checked at a recent oil change and was acceptable. The dot no. For the failed tire is not available. On Saturday, July 17th, 2006, I had routine maintenance completed on my 2006 Honda Accord. The dealership told me that I needed 4 new tires. They installed 4 falken ziex ze 912 tires along with a front end alignment. I left the dealership, got onto to the freeway and my brand new right front tire exploded when I was traveling at 55 miles per hour. I immediately contacted the dealership and they requested that I have my car towed to them and they would investigate the situation. I spoke with the dealership today (Monday) and they stated that the new tire was defective. They replaced the tire at no charge and reported that they would be sending the tired back to the factory to investigate the defect issue.

Tread on left front tire separated while vehicle was in motion at about 60 mph. Tread did not come completely off and it damaged tire well and bumper.

March of 2009, I bought a set of prime well ps830 tires from firestone for my 98 Honda Accord v6 sedan. Since the first day of purchase, I noticed unusual shakes from my car at highway speed. The matter gets worse in recent months as I noticed loud road noise and vibration from the tires. It is very difficult to drive my car at highway speed now. I have balanced the wheels at the time of purchase and many alignments since then. I had firestone checked my tires recently, instead of replacing the tires, they suggested expensive repairs which I don't believe are the causes of the road noise and tire vibration.

I was driving the car when the tire was punctured and the puncture went through the aluminum rim. I took the tire and rim to sears and they advised that this was not normal; they thought that the rim was defective. It is one thing for a nail to go through a tire, but it should not go through the rim.

Bought a new 2009 Honda Accord lxp , when I am driving on concrete highway road with grooved or parallel line formations, the car gets pulled from side to side,resulting in loosing vehicle control. This does not happen on normal/plain tar roads. When I approached the Honda dealer, they said that it is normal behavior, I think t his is a very big security risk.

Yokohama avid trz 205/65r15 tires for my 2002 Honda Accord: I purchased a set of these tires 3 years ago as they were 80,000 mile tires (as in long-lasting). At 32,000 miles, they were almost completely bald. The mechanic called and got a $30 discount on the tires for replacement, however, considering the initial cost this is unacceptable. Yokohama should not be allowed to list tires as 80,000 miles of wear when, in fact, they are bald at 32,000 miles (and I am an older experienced driver, not a hot-rodder or excessive speeder. ).

I have had 3 (or 4) false low tire pressure warnings. The first 3 times the dealer refused to do anything other than check the pressure and reset the light. The last time I had an alarm I drove another 25 miles and then looked at the tires. I could see nothing wrong so I assumed it was another false alarm. This incident occurred on a Saturday so the dealer was closed and I continued the trip we had planned. When I finally went to the dealer, it was 5 days and 300 miles later, the dealer did find a nail and the pressure was 24 psi. Now the dealer is telling me that he has researched the Honda data base and/or talked to Honda and there is nothing else they can do until I bring it in again with a false alarm. They will then connect the computer and begin a procedure.

I purchased bridgestone tires (4) April 2009 - replacing the same brand/type. They started out noisy and became progressively noisy. The prior set did not exhibit this problem. I have rotated the tires, but the problem continues and is far worse. This is an ongoing problem with the incident occurring upon purchase.

Tire had a 1/16 inch wide by 1/2 inch length slit near the rim. Went to the tire manufacturer and I was told it was not a defect. When I first saw the slit, it was like a pulled tissue paper. Now it is two inches long. I got it replaced at a cost.
