17 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/05/2008

Bought a brand new Honda Accord 2009 ex from bryan auto in fayetteville, nc on 11/5/08. . . Upon leaving the lot (11 miles on car) the tmps indicator came on and has stayed on permanently since then. We have been advised by my auto insurance CO (usaa) not to drive the vehicle under any circumstances--the vehicle may be replaceable, but our lives our not. We took the car back to bran Honda on 11/7/08 and complained, yet were told only that the tire pressure "may or may not" have been checked--they will not provide us with documentation of any service from this date. We have a car that we fear to drive--they have suggested putting nitrogen in the tires, but I am not willing to go against my warranty or Honda specifications which may void my warranty. The car and the dealership are a disaster--they are rude, uncaring and insensitive, and we have a useless, dangerous car-the light stays on steady, so is not related to any temperature changes. We desperately need assistance. Thanks so very much for your time & consideration in this matter.

18 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/08/2008

We purchased 4 new tires from merchant tires in thomasville, nc on 7/7/07. On 9/8/08 we had to replace a tire because of a valve stem failure which the company didn't tell us. The tire had a bulge on the side wall because they were low profile tires and my wife didn't notice the tire was low because of the valve stem. From her driving on the tire it caused the side wall damage. My wife tried fix a flat but she said the valve stem was barley hanging on so she could use fix a flat. After that incident a week later on 9/14/08 I had to take another tire to merchants to get fixed and this time it wasn't damaged and I was told by merchants it was a valve stem and that was all it needed. Today 10/10/08 I noticed a warning issue on merchants website issued because of dill valve stems. I asked them how do I get a refund for the tire I had to replace because of the tire. He informed all complaints need to go to dill air controlled products. So I found this form on another internet site with people having the same issues. So now I want someone to refund my money for the purchase of my new tire that I had to buy which was caused by the faulty valve stems.

Then the very next day while driving to work another tire on my vehicle went flat while on the freeway causing me to swerve into the other lane and almost lose complete control. I returned to the tire repair shop where they inspected my tire valves and explained that they were leaking and replaced all 4 of them. This incident happen on the rainy morning of Feb 2003 at the discount tire store at 407 west bell road, phoenix, az 85023. Thousand of consumers have been wronged by this company's failure to comply with 49cfr574. 8. For questions or comments please contact me.

21 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2001 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/24/2002

I purchased a michelin tire for a Honda Accord in December 2001. I did not realize at the time of purchase that the tire was 34 months old. Tire failed 4 weeks ago (5/24/02) with less than 10,000 miles on it. Dealer claims it was due to road hazard. The tire failed in a parking lot at less than 10 mph. There were no road hazards in sight. The dealer would not replace the tire. I had to buy another michelin tire to match the other tires. The replacement tire they sold to me was manufactured at the same time as the original tire--making it 40 months old at time of purchase. I think it is highly unusual that michelin can sell tires that are 3 1/2 years old as new tires. Are there any regulations in place that prevent tire manufacturers from selling stock as "new" when it was actually manufactured 2. 5 - 3. 5 years earlier? this appears to be a gross misrepresentation of a "new" product. Would appreciate your comments. Thank-you. Don bintz 702-656-8074 h. P.
