The 2016 Honda Accord purchased brand new by my mom had the steering fail within two months of purchase and was towed to dealer. In September of 2019 the steering failed again. The extended warranty company approved non Honda parts per the Honda dealer. Mom picked up drove to the bank and it failed again. They put Honda parts in and it failed yesterday but once turned off and on the steering reset. The dealer said nothing was wrong but regardless it happened again. The dealer said the computer showed nothing wrong so they released the car. We have documentation on all of this.

4 Steering Failed problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/21/2019

While cornering, the vehicle suddenly became very difficult to steer and did not right itself coming out of the corner. Over the next several days, the steering occasionally failed. No warning lights came on and when Honda tested the car, no torque sensor failures were noted. On that basis, Honda declined to apply their extended warranty covering the failed steering. Honda was not interested in pursuing the failure to see if it might improve their knowledge of a known problem with this model's steering. Honda claimed that the failure was rare and that there was no information out there to determine whether the vehicle would be safely drivable without repair. They could not assure me that the failure was just a loss of power steering, of something more dangerous. It wasn't until after I paid for the repair, that I found numerous similar complaints online.

5 Steering Failed problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

Right side sub-frame, rear beam, k frame is completely rusted through from a/c drain line installed to drain directly onto the subframe. This causes the steering to flex substantially and According to my mechanic could cause the car steering to fail catastrophically or could allow the motor and transmission to fall out of the car. Anti-sway bar is completely broken away from the frame. Found by mechanic checking my car to determine what was wrong with the steering and cornering.

14 Steering Failed problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

The steering wheel was unable to turn when backing up for parallel parking after a few times, when practicing right before my daughter's driving test. Then I tried myself a couple time without luck that I had to pull it off. I was unable to tell anything was wrong since there are no any error lights on the instrument panel. I was able to turn it while driving forward, though. After being parked in the parking lot for some time, it began to work ok again, and it did not fail my daughter's driving test - a good thing. It really raised a big concern for me that a hidden issue of the steering wheel failure exists with my car. I really need Honda to recall it and fix it before it is too late with horrible consequences. Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

17 Steering Failed problem of the 2002 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/23/2009

A steering stuck incident which could have become a major accident if it had happened on a busy road! while driving normally around 20mph in a 30 mph speed zone and trying to turn right, the steering was stuck and could not turn right. After proceeding straight, turned right with a great manual effort in steering by making a very wide right turn at the next signal (almost endangering cars in the other lane waiting at the signal) then moved into a parking lot where I found the steering could be neither turned right or left. An emergency roadside assistance was summoned and he tightened some loose nut (which had resulted in the belt becoming loose). Reported the incident to american Honda motor CO (1-800-999-1009) on 12/28/09 after the christmas holidays. Had the vehicle serviced at mcdavid Honda of irving. If this incident had happened on the major highway, it could have led to an accident. Do not understand why a car being regularly serviced at an authorized dealer could have a steering failure?.

18 Steering Failed problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/10/2008

I purchased a new 2008 Honda Accord from what is now known as bel air Honda. I had less than 50,000 miles when I had two sets of rear brake pads replaced. The 2nd set was replaced with a 3rd. At approx. 37,000 miles and the replacement was at my expense. The 1st 2 times I was reimbursed for the install, but the 3rd time the dealer and Honda said sorry this ones on you. I feel this expenditure should not have been mine to pay. In less thgan 50,000miles I had 2 power steering pumps replaced. The 4th time the steering box also was damaged and it too replaced. This last time I was told this again was my expense so again their problem became mine. This time the dealer, bel air Honda said lucky I bought the extended warranty or the cost to me would have been approximately $1,600. 00. My worry is I am concerned that I could have a steering or brake failure while on the interstate causing an injury to me or someone else. I have voiced my cocerns to both american Honda and bel air Honda. They blame one another regarding the mechanical failures to my car. The dealer said Honda sent them defective parts and Honda said its a install problem. I have sent and spoke to many representatives of Honda motors and there response to me amounted to them suggesting things will be getting better and hang in there. So I have a car that I feel unsafe driving that no one seems to be concerned with. Their philosophy seems to be, get it repaired and maybe you'll have better luck next tyime. My Honda is true and its been a total sad experience fof me. Their the goliath and I'm david with no recourse to the total diregard to my on problem. Honda probably has a good track record, but if you are having a serious problem with their car like I have, you get no satisfactory help from the automobile giant. There is a lot more to this sorry situation, but I am or will go over the limit I am allowed in this complaint memo. Your help in getting my story told will be appreciated.
