1 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

Steering feels sticky at highway speeds. Noticeably different, irregular and inconsistent effort required to begin steering motion. May cause over correction due to inconsistent effort required to steer. Steering does not have the same sticky feeling at residential speeds.

2 Steering problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/31/2025

There wasn’t an accident. My abs module has went out. Which has the traction control light, break light, power steering light, tire light, and abs light all on, on my dash. After a lot of research it is a known issue in models from 2008-2017 so I feel like there should be a recall on this before something happens. I was driving down the hwy going about 50 when I seen a car pull out of a side road. I had to slam on break and my traction control didn’t work at all. I slid all over the road. Luckily I was able to stop before hitting the car, but the traction control made me go all over the road. This is a problem!.

3 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/25/2025

There has been a growing number of people, including myself that are experiencing sticky steering wheels, steering rack issues and clunking when turning the steering wheel in 2023-2025 Honda Accords. A recall has only came out for civics and integras, but none for Honda Accords. I had the issue arise earlier this year in January. It was not as consistent and noticeable until the end of January. I made an appointment, I was told the sound couldn’t be recreated and sent home. I brought it right back and was given a piece of paper noting the issue for civics and that there was nothing to be done and it won’t get worse. It did get worse and I brought it in a few days later just to be told someone from somewhere is coming to fix it. They regreased the gearbox and the noise was gone in February. The noise has since returned as of 12/25/2025, accompanies with a sticky steering wheel when driving at highway speeds. This issue continues to be brushed off and told it is safe to drive when no one should have to drive with a steering concern regardless if it is not bad “yet”. Consumers all over are stating the steering racks are replaced and other things but the issue just returns so it is not just a isolated situation, several people are dealing with this and it’s being ignored. Individuals personal experience can be found all over reddit including videos proof of the noise that is being made. This is my 2nd report!.

4 Steering problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/24/2025

Sticky steering wheel at highway speed 70mph and when you put enough force to make it turn it jerks and you have to over correct it and go the other way to maintain in the middle lane on the highway. Takes about 10-15miles to start doing it but does not go away at all once it starts. Happens everytime on the highway.

5 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/23/2025

Steering wheel sticking at a higher speed (above 60 mile per hrs) causing the vehicle to over correct when turning to the right very dangerous, almost caused me to lose control of the vehicle several times.

6 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/16/2025

The contact owned a 2025 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving and making a left or right turn, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the steering wheel. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500.

7 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/11/2025

The steering is affected, and my vehicle is available for inspection at request. When engaging in longer highway drives (40+ minutes) and going at higher speeds (50mph+), the steering wheel starts to "stick" close to the center/0 degree mark when making small adjustments in lane (+/-1 to +/- 3 degrees from 0 degrees) or when moving between lanes. This means I have to pay special attention after my drive hits a certain distance, especially when making leftward adjustments on longer curves. The issue is more prevalent in freezing temperatures (20-40f) and becomes less prevalent in warmer temps (55f+), but still noticeable after aforementioned longer drives. Since my commute is about an hour/40 miles, I am able to consistently reproduce the issue later in the drive. One very easy scenario to reproduce the issue in, is on longer/smoother highway curves to the right: when the wheel is "right" for a longer period of time at high speeds, the sticking is pretty noticeable when adjusting left to center. The sticking does not make a noise but is noticeable with one or both hands. The issue is not very noticeable at lower speeds when the power steering kicks in. While this is just a nuisance at the moment, I am concerned that the issue could get worse and become a safety issue. I have not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer though, as the issue takes a while to reproduce and I am not confident that most service advisors/techs would be willing to drive my vehicle for an hour to reproduce this issue. I plan to either bring it up at my next oil change, or if the issue gets worse (and thus, easier to reproduce).

8 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/09/2025

The component not functioning properly in the steering gear box. It is available for inspection. The steering sticks. With my hand at 12:00, it takes the width of my hand to unstick while driving. The component has been inspected and was determined the gears inside the gear box are binding. Causing the steering to stick. There was no warning and there is no damage present. I have had the car inspected by a Honda dealer and I have also reported it to Honda USA.

9 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

I am experiencing a knocking/creaking noise at low speeds and when stopped while turning the steering wheel. This seems to be a known and commonly reported issue, though Honda has not formally acknowledged it. I am concerned about the potential long-term impact if the issue is left unaddressed and american Honda declines to authorize a steering rack replacement.

10 Steering problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/05/2025

Describe the safety issue: my 2023 Honda Accord (VIN: 1hgcy1f28pa010141) stalled in traffic due to electrical system failure. A certified Honda technician found undisclosed non-factory wiring, exposed wires, removed aftermarket alarm components, bcm communication failure, and multiple hard codes that cannot be cleared. 11 Steering problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2025

2014 Honda Accord hybrid purchased new, completed all routine and recommended maintenance over its life. - the passenger side drive shaft failed on may 5, 2025, pulling into our driveway, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. - the driver’s side drive shaft failed on December 4, 2025, leaving a shopping center parking lot, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. Attached are photos of both driveshafts, which clearly show the similarities in the failures. I have the parts for the driver’s side in my possession and am happy to furnish them for analysis. These failures are catastrophic in that the vehicle was rendered undrivable with a loss of control without warning. This vehicle is used daily for highway commuting and had this failure occurred on the highway at 65 mph, I believe it would have caused a serious crash of this vehicle and likely caused a multi-vehicle accident given the sudden nature of the failure and the lack of control the vehicle experienced upon failure. Honda service bulletin 20-125 appears to address a very similar concern for Honda Accord “cvt models. ” the photos and inspection area listed in that bulletin seem to indicate that my car experienced a similar failure (bulletin attached); however, I was told by the dealership that my VIN was not subject to the recall. I believe the vehicle is subject to a similar defect as described in the service bulletin for other Honda Accord models and believe it should be investigated and included in the recall. These failures have cost $2,279. 47 in repair fees, approximately $400 in emergency towing and do not seem to be in line with routine maintenance or "wear and tear".

12 Steering problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2025

While driving, the power steering warning came on and the steering wheel became extremely tight, making it very difficult to turn. This has happened more than once, most recently on December 8, 2025. The loss of steering assist occurred while the vehicle was in motion and created a serious safety concern. The dealership retrieved diagnostic code c1250-52, which indicates an internal malfunction of the electric brake booster ecu. The steering issue and warning occurred again after the initial diagnosis. The system appears to fail intermittently and without warning. I have owned multiple Honda Accord vehicles over the years and have never experienced anything like this. Sudden loss of steering assist while driving is a safety defect, and similar issues have been reported by other owners of 2018–2022 Honda Accord models.

13 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/24/2025

Sticky steering. Steering wheel sticks when attempting to make small adjustments at speeds above 45 mph.

14 Steering problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/24/2025

Steering system is stiff and all the warning lights are on in the dashboard. Vehicle pulls hard to the left and you have to hold the wheel steady to keep it from pulling to the left. Appears there is a steering rack issue. I've seen on internet that many 2015 Accords have this issue. There needs to be a recall. Honda dealership quoting $3500 to $5000 to repair. This is not right!!.

15 Steering problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/18/2025

On 11/18/2025, while driving my 2014 Honda Accord 2. 4l (VIN: [xxx] ), I experienced a sudden and dangerous safety failure. Without any warning, the steering became extremely hard and almost locked, making it nearly impossible to turn or control the vehicle. At the same moment, several warning indicators appeared on the dashboard, including: abs warning vsa warning brake system warning because of this failure, the vehicle became unsafe to operate, and I was forced to stop. I could not continue driving due to the risk of losing control of the car. When I checked the recall information online, the system showed that my VIN has an active recall notification, but when I took my vehicle to the dealership (victory Honda of Plymouth), they informed me that my specific issue is not covered under that recall, even though the symptoms match known abs/vsa safety failures. The dealership stated that they will not repair the abs/vsa issue unless I pay out of pocket, despite the steering nearly locking and the vehicle becoming unsafe. Since this involves loss of steering control, it represents a major safety hazard that could lead to a crash. I am requesting an investigation and guidance on whether this failure should be considered a safety-related repair and whether my VIN should be reviewed for inclusion in the recall, given the severity of the incident. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

16 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/14/2025

Frequently when maneuvering at very slow speeds to park in a tight spot, the steering wheel shudders significantly when turning the wheel all the way. This is different from the standard, variable resistance the steering provides at different speeds.

17 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/12/2025

The power steering suddenly doesnt work. Luckily appeared and noticed upon starting the car. The dashboard sensor light appeared as well at that time. Did minor troubleshooting that was suggested by articles read such as tested battery, was fine. Looked for lose connections and corrosion, none seen. Became aware also that this is a known problem.

18 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/11/2025

Steering is now popping while turning. Only has 2000 miles on it. Apparently a very widespread issue According to online with no fixes. The steering racks are replaced and the noise and issue returns.

19 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

The steering sticks and over turns making the car go all over the place. When parked, the steering makes alot of noises when you turn the steering wheel.

20 Steering problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

Driving and without warning steering light came on, display flickered, engine surged, and complete loss of steering in a matter seconds. I was barely able to turn car onto a driveway where the engine shutdown. I restarted engine and noticed considerable knocking, put car in gear and engine shut-off. I had car towed to a garage and am waiting for info. I should note that the previous month there has been some parasitic draw that requires me to jump start the car every few days even with a new battery.

21 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

See attached document for complaint.

22 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/30/2025

My 2025 Honda Accord hybrid (approx. 37,500 miles) has developed a dangerous steering defect identical to the widely known 'sticky steering' issue affecting the 2022-2025 civic and cr-v. The safety incident: while driving at highway speeds (45-70 mph), the steering wheel physically 'sticks' or 'locks' in the center position. To make minor lane corrections, I must apply abnormal force to break the wheel free, causing it to 'snap' or jerk suddenly. This leads to overcorrection and an inability to maintain a safe, straight line in my lane. This 'stiction' worsens after the vehicle warms up (20+ minutes of driving). The component: this exhibits the exact symptoms of a defective worm gear/steering gearbox assembly (swelling of internal components due to heat), which is currently under recall/investigation for other Honda models. Dealer response: the dealer wyler Honda of florence (ky) confirmed the symptoms but refused a warranty repair because the vehicle is 1,500 miles past the 36k limit, despite this being a known manufacturing safety defect. They requested a diagnostic fee to inspect a safety hazard. I am reporting this to force a recall for the 2025 Accord, as it clearly shares the defective steering rack components found in the recalled civic/cr-v/integra models.

23 Steering problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/30/2025

While driving my 2019 Honda Accord, after about five minutes on the road, multiple warning lights suddenly appeared on the dashboard. The emission system, brake system, power steering, tpms, acc, hill start assist, collision mitigation, and vehicle stability assist warnings all came on at the same time. The alerts caused concern for safety, as several major systems such as steering assist, braking, and driver-assist features appeared to malfunction simultaneously. The issue seems related to an electrical or charging system failure (such as the alternator or battery), since all of these systems rely on stable voltage to operate correctly. The incident occurred without warning and could have resulted in loss of steering assist or engine power while driving.

24 Steering problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/25/2025

I was driving and the skid, brake, abs and steering light came on. I was with my kids so I immediately slowed down and contacted my mechanic. We initially thought it would be a sensor. After hooking it up, it was detected to be the abs brake module. After further research this is a “normal” issue. A new module is expensive $2500 with the dealer and is on back order for 3 months. We have shipped the module to CA (I’m in TN) to get it “repaired”. I have been without a car for 3weeks and still waiting. This is insane and should be recalled. I hope the “repair” fixes the issue.

25 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/24/2025

Issue is intermittant, however extremely dangerous. Vehicle steers to the right until it cannot go further without any intervention with the steering wheel. Upon a right turn the vehicle will not return to center steering. If this is occuring vehcile will turn very quickly if your hands come off the steeering wheel for any amount of time.

26 Steering problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/23/2025

These also are warning signals that keep coming on I took it to autozone obd scanner said is was misfire cylinder2got spark plug changed and engine coil still showing same thing on scanner.

27 Steering problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/23/2025

While I was driving down the road with my foot on the gas pedal, without any notice whatsoever, my brakes began to jitter/shake and my steering wheel got stuck/tight and would not move. At this point, my car immediately makes a complete stop in the middle of the road and warning lamps appear such as; brake system problem, engine light, etc. I immediately turned on my hazard lights so cars behind me would go around me. Luckily, I was close to a curb and tugged on my stiff steering wheel and managed to park my car alongside the curb on the street. I called the Honda dealership and they said my car was unsafe to drive and needed to be repaired. I immediately took my car to the Honda dealership to get repaired. This malfunction could have caused an accident putting myself and others safety at risk as my car made an immediate complete stop on it's own and my steering wheel got stiff/hard to move making it hard to steer. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

28 Steering problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/05/2025

All lights have popped up on dash. Stayed on for 2 days back in July and then went off. Came back on 2 days ago (oct 5th) and have not went off yet. Lka, cruise control, parking brake light, tpms, traction control, and engine light.

29 Steering problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/03/2025

The steering sticks and the assisted steering goes on and off without warning making it dangerous driving. Almost caused a collision. Steering light comes on and off. It sounds like the recall of the steering issue found on other Honda Accords for 2014 of other vins.

30 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/02/2025

This is an addendum to complaint number 11700647, and attaches the latest service and repair record of 10/10/25.

31 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The steering is "jerky" and stiff. The lkas is off and so is sport mode. I've had this same issue on a previous Honda and the steering gear box needed to be replaced. It feels very unsafe to drive like this. I have attempted to take it to the dealership already and they state they do not feel it and the vehicle is performing as designed. It's still persistent to the point I almost side swiped someone on the freeway today from the sudden jerk while trying to keep straight. I will be taking it back to the dealership ASAP.

32 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/29/2025

All lights related to tire pressure, sterring control, vehicle stability assist and abs comes up in dash board. The abs control module suddenly fails because of very bad design and manufacturing (just dry solderings!). Search ebay, one can find so many offering services to repair this failed abs control module. For replacement ot costs 3500. This looks like is common failure. Very dangerous to drive with that failed abs control module. Why is this not in a recall yet?.

33 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/28/2025

Steering is very hard to turn. The car is not drivable.

34 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/24/2025

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to complete a left turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to coast into a nearby parking lot, where the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with failures with the driveshaft and steering gearbox. The driveshaft was repaired at that time. The contact stated that while leaving the independent mechanic at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly veered to the left, prompting the contact to immediately return the vehicle to the independent mechanic. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the steering gearbox. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 160,000.

35 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/17/2025

Wiring harness failed randomly at 42,000 with no damage to the harness, engine, or vehicle itself. Without the wiring harness the engine does not run properly and shakes violently, causing the car to lose power. This happened with no prior warnings, problems, or damage. Additionally the steering rack seems “loose” and changes direction quite quickly when hitting a pothole or uneven roads even at lower speeds. I have to make sure I constantly have a firm grip on the wheel so no sudden unexpected direction changes occur due to imperfections in the road.
