1 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/26/2026

The steering has been 'sticky' or 'notchy' since the vehicle was a few months old. With lane keeping off, driving in a straight line, when I perform a small steering input, it feels like the steering wheel is locked. . . When I push harder, it begins to act normally again. Nhtsa recall 24v744 actually describes the symptom much better than I can. I have had the vehicle now 9 months and every time this happens, my heart skips a beat. I have complained to the dealer once, they burned half tank of fuel and told me 'its fine'. Next time I brought it for service, I complained again. . . Because it is a safety issue. . . They said they would have to charge me to look at it. . . On a 9mo old vehicle. I'm scared to drive this vehicle because when will the steering completely fail and the car will crash?.

2 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/21/2026

Around 20,000 miles my car began having faint metallic clanking/clicking sounds turning left and recoiling back to the left under 15 miles an hour and while parked. My lane mitigation, see dealer light turned on for 5 minutes while backing in to a spot then turned off. No issues steering just noise. Glad I am not deaf and I know better because it was a very easy and quiet noise to ignore or miss. My steering is fine now but does not steer as thin and smoothly as before— not like any Honda steering I’ve encountered or when I first bough the car. Feels more stiff now but very drivable on the highway although repaired under warranty, there are hundreds of facebook, reddit, and even nhsta complaints of steering rack issues for 11th gen Accords that have fallen on deaf ears. I am fortunate to have my problem fixed in a relatively quick manner and helpful Honda staff. I am concerned because I hear people complaining this problem coming back after 4-10k miles later. This is a major safety issue in the principle of it all. It is ridiculous that type rs and acuras can get recalled steering racks but not Accord hybrid owners, some waiting 0-5 years for a steering rack recall while owners having to change them out like clockwork on their own dime outside of 36/36k. This is costing people money in tire degradation that Honda doesn't cover, mental stress, and it tarnishes the name of Honda if they don’t actively work to fix their mistake. Nhtsa should have a duty to put pressure on Honda to stop producing Accords, pilots, type rs, acuras, odysseys, etc with steering racks that don't work. Email me if you want service records, its not letting me load them. Steering rack and gear replaced recheck fine. Clock reel was making noise, cable reel was replaced and no more noise. Front tires are at 4/32nds, backs are at 6/32nds— bought at same time with car. 4 wheel total alignment was done. I have video of the clicking sound.

3 Steering problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/18/2026

When steering there is noise coming out. When parking or turning wheel all the way to one side it makes weird noise. I see so many complaints about this.

4 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/19/2026

While the vehicle is in motion. The steering wheel will turn by itself without input from the driver. As of right now, the steering is stiff while making a left turn, and will free wheel back to right turn without input from driver. This will occur on and off while driving. If you are not attentive, it will easily cause an accident. This first happened 19feb2026. No warning lights present in the dashboard. Took it to the local Honda dealership and was told to have the whole steering rack and pinion assembly replaced without any explanation or diagnosis. The dealership also mentioned that there are no dtc code present or stored.

5 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/17/2026

My safety is currently being put at risk by Honda due to my eps motor/rack assembly being faulty. I have taken it into the local Honda dealership who has confirmed this in their paperwork. I have reported it to Honda and have been told no fix will be performed at this time. While my steering rack is becoming louder each day and thudding under my driver side floor panel. A failed steering rack can affect steering causing an accident or worse.

8 Steering problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/02/2026

Everytime I try to turn my wheel it’ll get stiff and the notification will pop up saying “electric power steering system” but then it’ll go back to normal and when I start the car it sounds like it doesn’t want to start at all and like the cords are trying to connect because they start making a ticking sound. I’ve had issues with electrical before to where the airbags and lane assist had to be fixed but the issues seems to keep circling back around. Something going on with the electrical in the car and I have only had it for about a year and a half.

9 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/30/2026

Yesterday, January 30, 2026 as I was driving (approximately 30mph) my car seized, came to a stop, dashboard lit up with multitude of words/symbols. After approximately 15 seconds I was able to use the gas pedal and the car drove. My safety was at risk, this sudden stop jolted me hard. If there was another vehicle behind me I would have been hit. The warning messages were so quick and cleared away with seconds that I cannot recall. I drove to my local dealer and the battery cables were checked and ok. I scheduled an appt for Monday Feb. 2nd as this was Friday. On January 21st this local dealer replaced my battery, after months of "computer glitches" that were never resolved with two dealers and 4 dead batteries.

10 Steering problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/28/2026

Had a light come on about the electric power steering, steering assist reduced see your dealer I know the hybrid had this problem but mine is just a gas model.

11 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/27/2026

I am submitting this complaint to report an ongoing steering system issue that I believe may involve the electric power steering (eps) motor and could affect safe vehicle operation. The primary symptoms are (1) a clicking sound associated with steering while driving, and (2) a loud creaking sound when turning the steering wheel while stopped or at very low speed. The condition has persisted and has not been resolved after I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer. The dealer acknowledged the problem, identified the eps motor area as the source, and indicated Honda is aware of the issue but currently does not have an available fix. Because this issue is related to the steering system, I feel unsafe driving the vehicle and I am concerned that continued operation could lead to a loss of steering assist or another steering-related malfunction.

12 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/26/2026

I was turning into my parking space after work. The car suddenly showed every single alarm possible it started driving incredibly poorly at low speeds. I turned the car off. I let it rest for a minute. I turned it off and it was horribly slow, but it was able to pull it into the parking space. I did not call a tow truck at this time because the last time they towed into an impound lot and it took days to get it to the dealership. They tried to hold my car for ransom for thousands of dollars. This is a brand new vehicle has broken down multiple times. Honda is trying to externalize flame. The dealership takes no ownership of their faulty merchandise.

13 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/22/2026

Problem started when leaving parking lot. The car started pulling to right. Hard to turn to left. Then the problem stop car will drive normal for a little ways then all of a sudden it will pull to right. Just took it to Honda did the recall on battery and steering to day. Car still has steering issues. It will drive normal for a little ways then all sudden pull to the right. Have to make sure to have a good grip on the steering wheel at all the time. I know if I hit a bump or turn to the right the steering issue will start most of the time. So time turn left problem goes away. But know when it will come and go. Driving 20 minutes may come and go 5 times or may stay pulling to right the hold time. I would not drive the car on interstate or high speed with this issue not safe. It probably not safe to drive at all because you never know when the car going to pull hard to the right.

14 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/20/2026

The vehicle wanders down the road side to side. It’s constantly wandering you have to keep correcting it. It also feels like the steering has a gap in it when you go to correct it. It has been at Honda several times. We were told the last time it may need an alignment so Honda did an alignment and it just made it worse. Vehicle has 11000 miles or so.

15 Steering problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after taking the vehicle in for a check, the instrument panel was inoperative. The contact attempted to reboot the system, but the issue persisted. The contact stated that the steering gear box was failing, and that the steering wheel was firm, and the contact temporarily lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not repaired because of the cost of the diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,853.

17 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/14/2026

Car parked for 6 days while on vacation. Came back it started fine but 30 mins into travel, I lost power steering while on the highway next to a tractor trailer and the warning lights were shifting through a cycle of warnings of things not working. It told me to go to the dealership which I brought on my way home. They looked and said it was because I didn't drive it. The car is 1 year old and that battery should be working. I travel at least 120 miles a day5 days a week so there isn't a deficit of charging. Regardless, this should not be normalized by Honda. There should be something I can do to check this situation prior to driving. I do have a video of the cycle of warnings but I can't upload it here. Contact me for it if you would like it.

18 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

When driving on the freeway for an extended amount of time I started to notice the steering wheel feeling "sticky" during minor adjustments. It almost feels like I'm moving the wheel off of the backside of a post-it note. It's subtle enough to be annoying but not significant enough to be dangerous unless it becomes worse.

19 Steering problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/09/2026

While driving, steering looses power, so steering is very difficult. Car needs to be restarted to gain control of steering. Took it to a mechanic and he explained that Honda Accords have this problem. He scanned the vehicle and received a dtc code 53-02 and advised to visit Honda dealer for repairs or possible recall fix. The car VIN number search does not list any outstanding recalls.

20 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/06/2026

Steering feels sticky at highway speeds. Noticeably different, irregular and inconsistent effort required to begin steering motion. May cause over correction due to inconsistent effort required to steer. Steering does not have the same sticky feeling at residential speeds.

21 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/03/2026

Steering is sticking. Difficult to keep straight and keep the vehicle tracking straight; difficult to add steering input from center. Sticks to move left and right to keep the vehicle centered in the lane.

22 Steering problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/31/2025

There wasn’t an accident. My abs module has went out. Which has the traction control light, break light, power steering light, tire light, and abs light all on, on my dash. After a lot of research it is a known issue in models from 2008-2017 so I feel like there should be a recall on this before something happens. I was driving down the hwy going about 50 when I seen a car pull out of a side road. I had to slam on break and my traction control didn’t work at all. I slid all over the road. Luckily I was able to stop before hitting the car, but the traction control made me go all over the road. This is a problem!.

23 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/26/2025

When I’m driving at highway speeds my steering wheel gets stuck and when this happens I’m over correcting my steering which is causing my car to swerve . I since took the vehicle to the dealership and had the steering rack and pinion replaced. They told me there has been several complaints of this happening and for now they do not have a updated parts as of yet . So they gave me a 12000 or 1 year warranty if this replacement part fails again.

24 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/25/2025

There has been a growing number of people, including myself that are experiencing sticky steering wheels, steering rack issues and clunking when turning the steering wheel in 2023-2025 Honda Accords. A recall has only came out for civics and integras, but none for Honda Accords. I had the issue arise earlier this year in January. It was not as consistent and noticeable until the end of January. I made an appointment, I was told the sound couldn’t be recreated and sent home. I brought it right back and was given a piece of paper noting the issue for civics and that there was nothing to be done and it won’t get worse. It did get worse and I brought it in a few days later just to be told someone from somewhere is coming to fix it. They regreased the gearbox and the noise was gone in February. The noise has since returned as of 12/25/2025, accompanies with a sticky steering wheel when driving at highway speeds. This issue continues to be brushed off and told it is safe to drive when no one should have to drive with a steering concern regardless if it is not bad “yet”. Consumers all over are stating the steering racks are replaced and other things but the issue just returns so it is not just a isolated situation, several people are dealing with this and it’s being ignored. Individuals personal experience can be found all over reddit including videos proof of the noise that is being made. This is my 2nd report!.

25 Steering problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/24/2025

Sticky steering wheel at highway speed 70mph and when you put enough force to make it turn it jerks and you have to over correct it and go the other way to maintain in the middle lane on the highway. Takes about 10-15miles to start doing it but does not go away at all once it starts. Happens everytime on the highway.

26 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/23/2025

Steering wheel sticking at a higher speed (above 60 mile per hrs) causing the vehicle to over correct when turning to the right very dangerous, almost caused me to lose control of the vehicle several times.

27 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/16/2025

The contact owned a 2025 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving and making a left or right turn, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the steering wheel. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500.

28 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/15/2025

Around 6,000 miles I started noticing a weird sticking sensation in the steering wheel when making small corrections at highway speeds. It feels like the wheel catches on a point near center and needs a little extra force to push through. It's subtle but it's happened enough times to startle me while driving at highway speeds, which is genuinely scary. My dealer looked at it but said they couldn't reproduce the issue and wouldn't take action. On top of that, the lane keeping assist (lkas) has been really erratic. Instead of making smooth corrections to keep me in my lane, it jerks back and forth in a ping-pong pattern. I think it might be connected to the steering issue, but either way it makes highway driving feel unpredictable and unsafe. I'm filing this because both issues together make me uncomfortable driving this car at speed. A steering system that sticks and a lane assist that overcorrects is a bad combination, and I don't think it should be on a car with 6,000 miles on it.

29 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/11/2025

The steering is affected, and my vehicle is available for inspection at request. When engaging in longer highway drives (40+ minutes) and going at higher speeds (50mph+), the steering wheel starts to "stick" close to the center/0 degree mark when making small adjustments in lane (+/-1 to +/- 3 degrees from 0 degrees) or when moving between lanes. This means I have to pay special attention after my drive hits a certain distance, especially when making leftward adjustments on longer curves. The issue is more prevalent in freezing temperatures (20-40f) and becomes less prevalent in warmer temps (55f+), but still noticeable after aforementioned longer drives. Since my commute is about an hour/40 miles, I am able to consistently reproduce the issue later in the drive. One very easy scenario to reproduce the issue in, is on longer/smoother highway curves to the right: when the wheel is "right" for a longer period of time at high speeds, the sticking is pretty noticeable when adjusting left to center. The sticking does not make a noise but is noticeable with one or both hands. The issue is not very noticeable at lower speeds when the power steering kicks in. While this is just a nuisance at the moment, I am concerned that the issue could get worse and become a safety issue. I have not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer though, as the issue takes a while to reproduce and I am not confident that most service advisors/techs would be willing to drive my vehicle for an hour to reproduce this issue. I plan to either bring it up at my next oil change, or if the issue gets worse (and thus, easier to reproduce).

30 Steering problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/09/2025

The component not functioning properly in the steering gear box. It is available for inspection. The steering sticks. With my hand at 12:00, it takes the width of my hand to unstick while driving. The component has been inspected and was determined the gears inside the gear box are binding. Causing the steering to stick. There was no warning and there is no damage present. I have had the car inspected by a Honda dealer and I have also reported it to Honda USA.

31 Steering problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

No accident occurred. I just believe that the symptoms our car has are the exact same issues that caused a recall. I’m just relaying information to help set the parameters of the recall. Secondly I am curious why the service manager didn’t mention about a recall possibly concerning our car. Even though it isn’t in the window of the recall ( but shows all symptoms). Guess I’m feeling a little jaded with the way the service manager conveniently left out they didn’t have any parts for our car and they would have to order them. Anyway they knew I was driving the car home and they only had 6 hours to mess with it.

32 Steering problem of the 2025 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

I am experiencing a knocking/creaking noise at low speeds and when stopped while turning the steering wheel. This seems to be a known and commonly reported issue, though Honda has not formally acknowledged it. I am concerned about the potential long-term impact if the issue is left unaddressed and american Honda declines to authorize a steering rack replacement.

34 Steering problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2025

2014 Honda Accord hybrid purchased new, completed all routine and recommended maintenance over its life. - the passenger side drive shaft failed on may 5, 2025, pulling into our driveway, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. - the driver’s side drive shaft failed on December 4, 2025, leaving a shopping center parking lot, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. Attached are photos of both driveshafts, which clearly show the similarities in the failures. I have the parts for the driver’s side in my possession and am happy to furnish them for analysis. These failures are catastrophic in that the vehicle was rendered undrivable with a loss of control without warning. This vehicle is used daily for highway commuting and had this failure occurred on the highway at 65 mph, I believe it would have caused a serious crash of this vehicle and likely caused a multi-vehicle accident given the sudden nature of the failure and the lack of control the vehicle experienced upon failure. Honda service bulletin 20-125 appears to address a very similar concern for Honda Accord “cvt models. ” the photos and inspection area listed in that bulletin seem to indicate that my car experienced a similar failure (bulletin attached); however, I was told by the dealership that my VIN was not subject to the recall. I believe the vehicle is subject to a similar defect as described in the service bulletin for other Honda Accord models and believe it should be investigated and included in the recall. These failures have cost $2,279. 47 in repair fees, approximately $400 in emergency towing and do not seem to be in line with routine maintenance or "wear and tear".

35 Steering problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/04/2025

While driving, the power steering warning came on and the steering wheel became extremely tight, making it very difficult to turn. This has happened more than once, most recently on December 8, 2025. The loss of steering assist occurred while the vehicle was in motion and created a serious safety concern. The dealership retrieved diagnostic code c1250-52, which indicates an internal malfunction of the electric brake booster ecu. The steering issue and warning occurred again after the initial diagnosis. The system appears to fail intermittently and without warning. I have owned multiple Honda Accord vehicles over the years and have never experienced anything like this. Sudden loss of steering assist while driving is a safety defect, and similar issues have been reported by other owners of 2018–2022 Honda Accord models.
