I was driving on a city street at about 30mph. There was no one in front of me or behind me. Nothing in the road. The orange rectangular brake light came on for no reason, kept flashing and it felt as if the brakes were automatically being pumped, slowing the car down to a compete stop. In addition, I had no control of the steering. It was very dangerous situation which could have resulted in accident or injury.

While driving on nichols road in selden, NY on Monday, may 19th 2025 @ the speed of approximately 45-50 mph my 2013 Honda Accord sport (sedan) abruptly, unexpectedly and violently lurched to the left on it's own while I was holding the wheel with my fingers. Thank god I was already in the left lane because my vehicle went off the left shoulder and began to go onto the grass in the median but I was able to recover before completely going of the road. Had I been in the right lane I would have ran into a vehicle in the left lane because traffic was heavy at the time. Up until this point, my car drove straight and true without the need for alignment, air pressure adjustments, brakes or balancing. I know this because I have a little over 95,000 miles on the car and I keep my Honda pristine. However, to rule out the obvious possibilities I had an alignment done and all 4 tires checked for balancing and tire pressure issues. My brakes are in excellent condition and the vehicle did not make any unexpected sounds either before or after the incident and no dash board lights came on before or after the incident. I went to my mechanic and he researched the problem and I was told that the eps was malfunctioning so he reset the computer and the problem seemed to be rectified. Unfortunately, the problem occurred again, on Monday, June 2, 2025 except this time the car lurched to the right with the same intensity. I went back to my mechanic on Friday, June 6, 2025 and after diagnosis I was told that the same problem is occurring with the eps but this time it cannot be fixed and the cost of repair is approximately $3200. 00. I did some research on line and found a ton of information on complaints about faulty eps systems in multiple year Honda's and an investigation that is ongoing involving the nhtsb about this defect. I went to baron Honda, in patchogue, NY and one of their service managers, steve, says he hasn't heard anything about any of this. I call bs. I'm angry.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring an increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. The service power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
While driving at about 20 - 30 mph making turns either right or left my steering locks up causing me to almost hit a pedestrian. I was able to stop the car on n time. I shut the car off and restarted raving the engine to build up pressure. It mostly happens in morning or when the car sits a very long period.
Steering is hard to turn to the right and easy to the left. I suspect bad electronic steering rack and pinion. Not safe to drive. No warning lights as of yet, but mechanically has symptoms.
My steering wheel everytime I turn left completely turns my car off or stiffens when in reverse . I was driving to work on 05/03/2025 and my car completely turned off while turning left off the interstate.

Woke up and started my car, all the lights were on including engine light. No adapter cruise, steering light was on. Screen also was saying avoid speeding. Every notification was telling me go to the dealer ship. I took it howdy Honda in texas and they said we will need to do a diagnostic and it was for 255 for to see what the problem was. They looked and said I had code for po172(rich) and misfire on p0301 told me I need to replace fuel injectors. Which cost 1933$. Which is way too much and fuel injectors a labor should be covered under federal emissions warranty but they said no. So I am filing a recall for fuel injectors for my 2022 Honda Accord sports se. I am unable to drive because it’s in limp mode. I also have documentation from howdy for quote.

Stearing column makes a clicking sound when you move the wheel during stearing.
The eps has failed. The steering wheel automatically turns to the left on its own which almost caused an accident and it is difficult to turn the steering wheel.
Power steering goes out during driving. In order for power steering to work again, you must pull over, shut off the car and restart it. It has mostly happen while we have been driving on straight highways and roads and luckily it hasnt happened during any curvy roads or turns. This is one of our main cars we use to drive around town and travel with for adults and children. We took it in to mechanic shop and was told it may be the abs sensor and they are ordering parts to replace it to see if that fixes the problem. The fcw, check engine, and sliding lights have been turning on and off.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 15-20 mph, the contact became aware of an abnormal burning odor, and there smoke coming from under the hood. The contact stated that the smoke increased while at a complete stop in traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle after pulling over to the side of the road and after arriving to the residence. The contact stated that the power steering hose was leaking at the back of the engine, near the firewall, onto the catalytic converter and onto the power steering lines. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 12v222000 (steering); however, the dealer informed the contact that the recall repair could not be performed because the power steering pump was an aftermarket part. The contact stated that the dealer failed to honor the recall repair, which only involved the power steering hose replacement. The vehicle was taken to automotive technology of west islip, where the contact was informed that the vehicle should be repaired under the recall. The mechanic contacted the manufacturer on the contact's behalf; however, the manufacturer confirmed that the recall repair could not be performed because the power steering pump was an aftermarket part. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

While making a left u-turn my car suddenly restarted which caused a loss of power steering and acceleration. This issue occurred 2 more times until I was able to straighten the car out into the intended lane of traffic. During the vehicle restart, I noticed several dash lights appear in the left area of the dashboard, however could not identify the meaning.
While driving, the steering wheel jerks to the left. There is a constant pressure of the wheel turning left. This puts me and others in danger. There have been other experiences from other people on different forums that have experienced this. Warning lamp did come on for electric steering but turned off a few days later.
Steering feels tighter turning left than right. When turning left the wheel centers back up but when turning right it dosnt center. My alignment is fine when my wheel is straight it goes straight. It also likes to center up a little to the right. No one could fix this issue. I took it to a mechanic after multiple Honda visists and they said it might be the steering rack. I took it back to Honda after a clicking noise started happening when I turn at slow speeds or stopped and they said it was the steering rack but there was nothing they could do untill the investogstion for it was done.
I was driving and the lower ball joints on passenger side broke causing the axle to brake the car lot I got car from said they replaced everything well it happened again and the ball jounts were the same ines that were on there before. . Now my rack and opion broke.

If im driving at normal rate of speed while on highway the steering becomes very loose and sticky when adjusting steering. The passenger wheel will feel like it wobbles on its camber axis or will act like a shopping cart wheel. At times changing direction of vehicle entirely. At that time suspension will feel really spongy.

When turning the steering wheel at 25 mph or higher there is sometimes a clicking sound from the steering wheel like something is getting caught in the wheel when it turns, the dealer was unable to find the cause but tightened some loose bolts sating that may be the cause, it wasn't.

Vehicle drives fine but a week ago the steering, traction, abs, & brake lights all lit up on my Accord's dashboard. Took car to our regular mechanic, who then conducted diagnostic testing. This in turn, indicated that the abs control module is the cause. Steering, traction, & braking are quite vital in the safe manuerving of stopping & controlling a vehicle in motion. If unable to manageable do so, I, as well as many others are potentially at risk.
2023 Honda Accord hybrid issue with steering wheel clicking sound when turn. I saw that issue on newer Honda civic recall list.

Turning the wheel causes a popping and crackle type of noise. The sound is continuing to worsen and I can hear it from inside and outside of the car. Local Honda dealer told us there isn’t a replacement part as of now and this is a factory defect that hasn’t been recalled at the present time. I feel it could be a safety issue related to the ability to steer and control the car when it sticks or pulls.
I recently experienced a power steering failure on my 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t sport. When going to pull into a parking spot when turning my wheel to the left the power steering failed leaving me on the road. With all the lights coming onto the dash unable to pinpoint a specific issue. Upon taking it to the dealer I was informed that I needed a new “gearbox, steering”. More specifically the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. They sent me a quote for $6,233. 73. As I was unable to afford this I looked into this issue. As this has been a problem for Hondas my car wasn’t qualified for a recall upon looking at the NHTSA website. I am able to provide proof and documentation of the quote with price parts and labor.

I was driving on 02-03-2025 when suddenly the electric steering warning light came on. Immediately the steering became very difficult to turn. This all happened while I was driving.
Ever since I bought the 2019 Accord hybrid new. There has always been a steering wheel tug or slight sticking. I complained to ocean Honda (at the time, no longer in business, now north hollywood Honda). They said it was normal. Fighting the steering wheel on long drives didn't seem normal. I thought maybe it was lane asset issue. Turned it off and back on. Fixed the problem for a while but starting again. After covid I started working from home. So less driving. Not enough long driving to get it to react. Now there is a recall on the newer model Honda Accords that sound the same as my older Accord. My hope is that owners of older Accords are also speaking up to be included in the new steering wheel recall. These older Accord could be dangerous too. ***I can't add the correct date below. Incident around June 2020, but more than just one***.
Florida recently experienced a lower than average cold front. During this cold weather I started experiencing a problem with my steering. I initially described it as a twitching feeling with my steering but the next day I figured out how to recreate the issue consistently. My car wants to push me to the left into oncoming traffic. When I correct to the right I feel a momentarily resistance then the steering "let's go" and then steers right. I could repeatedly do this again and again. Car drifts left I steer right, steering sticks and then let's go to the right. I call and describe the issue immediately to my local dealership. They said my car isn't included in current recall for similar issue with crv etc. My appointment is in 3 days and now the weather is back in the 70s and I cannot recreate the issue. I'm sure when I drop it off, Honda will also not be able to recreate the issue in warm weather. It is a significant problem and needs to be addressed. My daughter thought she was going to be forced into oncoming traffic or the interstate wall because of it. Accords should be included. There's definitely a problem. I have a video that shows the twitch but I understand that probably doesn't mean much. Honda needs to fix this issue immediately.
The steering wheel sticks in either direction when driving. It makes it difficult to drive straight on the turnpike especially on the tighter sections of the road. Making small corrections becomes difficult when the steering wheel sticks and I end up snapping back and forth on the lanes. I have brought the issue up to the dealer twice a year apart and they won't confirm the issue because the computer didn't flag anything. Previously about a year ago I told the dealer about the steering issue but they didn't know what was wrong and then a few months later the recall for the steering was issued. I assume its the same issue but the Honda Accord model is missing from the recall list.
Traction control/abs/brake lights turn on 122-11 vsa solenoid valve malfunction and 83-11 which causes pcm malfunction. This is a known problem with Honda vehicles and should be a recall. When this error occurs traction/abs/brake, ldw fcw are disabled. The fix for this is over $1000. 00.
When driving at low speeds, for example looking for parking in my work parking lot, my 2014 Honda Accord coupe lost power steering. Steering wheel became heavy and hard to turn. The screens flickered on the radio and the car felt like a manual car when it stalls. With every turn of the wheel the car would try to shut off. No warning light came on the dash. There was a car behind me when it happened. Even though it was a parking lot, the car behind me almost rear ended me since the car started to try to shut off when I was making a turn into the parking spot and he/she did not expect my car to stop before I completed the turn. This just happened an hour ago and since I had to come in to work I haven't taken it for a diagnoses yet.
Clicking/popping noise when turning steering wheel. Was told it could be the steering gear box issue that is associated with the civics but there is not fix yet at the dealer near me. No warning lights, but this is starting to become an issue.
This has happened twice now, seemingly out of the blue and seemingly since the Honda dealership replaced the car’s faulty starter and torque wheel. The electric power steering light comes on, the steering becomes stiff and the car hard to control. Luckily the first time, it was quick and then went away. I was rounding a corner and the car became difficult to control. I was going between 35-40 mph. The second time I was going 15-20 mph. I went over the railroad track which caused a slight bump, the power steering light came on and it became difficult to control the car. I pulled over to the side of the road and into a parking lot best I could. I turned the engine off and on again. I tried to move the steering wheel but it was still stiff. I turned the car off again and it seemed ok. I am lucky I was not traveling at 80 mph on the highway or couldn’t control the car in a different situation.
While driving slow in a parking lot or parked any wheel movement causes a loud popping or clicking. Dealership diagnosed it as needing a new steering rack on a vehicle with 6000 miles. They should be added to the recall of the civic integra and crv‘s as apparently it has the same manufacturer or same problem in the steering rack. I feel very unsafe with my wife in this car, knowing the steering rack (pretty important) could fail at any time.
Steering has failed. Yes available for inspection. Safety of driver and occupants as well as other drivers due to vehicle making an unwanted sharp left turn. Yes the Honda dealer has confirmed. Yes by the Honda dealership. No warnings, just a sudden left turn by the steering wheel.
This problem is more noticeable when you are in a highway, going at highway speeds. The vehicle pulls to the sides on the lane, like it is trying to correct you as if you were moving out of the lane. Sometimes when it moves to the right, and you correct it, then it moves to the left. We purchased this vehicle on [xxx] with 26 miles on it. By the time the vehicle had 90 miles on it, we knew it had to go to the dealer because what we were feeling was not normal. We took the vehicle to the dealer, and drove it with a technician who noticed the problem immediately. The vehicle stayed at the dealer overnight, and the following day the dealer contacted us to pick up the vehicle. They told us that they had checked the vehicle, and sent information to Honda that they asked for. Honda said all the parameters in the car were correct, and there was nothing to fix. We drove the vehicle with the technician again, and he told us that he had driven another new car from their inventory, and felt the same problem, not as bad but he felt it. We drove the car with him a second time us driving, and again he noticed it and pointed out when it was doing it, because he could feel it as a passenger. The technician told Honda that even though the vehicle met all the parameters, there was something wrong because he could feel it. We called Honda directly and started a case on this matter. ( case # [xxx]) the following week a technician from Honda came to town, and the dealer called us to take the car in so he could check it himself. They would not tell us what he found out, but they said that he was going to check with a facility they have in California to see if they had any information on this matter. Even though they did not confirm anything he obviously noticed the problem, if he had not what would be the point of looking further. A week later they asked for the car again, the problem is getting worse the car is unsafe to drive, and we are waiting on Honda. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information.
The steering wheel "sticks" at dead center when on a smooth straight road. When I try to make a micro adjustment due to road crown, wind, etc. , the wheel won't move without considerable force, then will suddenly give way and jump off center the direction I'm pushing. Then I have to correct back.
