On Friday, April 2nd, I was driving home on the 710 fwy on the far left lane. I was driving around 75mph and there was an object on the ground which looked like an empty potato chip bag, it wasn't anything that would have done any damage to my car but my Honda sense's collision mitigation braking system activated for no reason and alerted me to brake and started applying pressure. I had no reason to stop so I had to swerve into the shoulder lane to prevent my car from braking unexpectedly which could have resulted into a deadly collision if there was a car close behind me. I have footage of the video and requested this to be looked into because if this is a faulty sensory issue, I would like it corrected immediately to prevent further issues. I do not want this to happen again because this incident was very dangerous when I did not have control of my own vehicle and it tried to override my command to keep driving straight.

Complaint to NHTSA ref. 2015 Honda Civic-ex (VIN: 19xfb2f85fe251724) please note that our referenced vehicle contains a design flaw and product defect. The car was not starting due to a major electrical problem. The technicians at a Honda certified dealer diagnosed the problem as a product defect associated with the right front door handle touch sensor. According to an advisor at Honda of escondido (California), the door handle sensor failure constituted both a hardware and software malfunction. The advisor indicated that this is a safety issue and that he has not seen this phenomenon occur with respect to a Honda Civic during his many years at Honda of escondido. It appears that the amount of current (amp) draw was the main culprit in depleting the battery?s power capacity and degrading it to a point that the car would not start as a result of the product defect. It also caused the vsa (I. E. , the vehicle stability assist) system to malfunction and behave erratically as well. In our assessment, this situation constitutes a public interest consideration as the safety, well-being and welfare of every owner is at risk when driving the same 2015 Honda Civic model. In our judgement, a recall is required to prevent severe accidents from happening and to preclude this highly risky and dangerous safety situation from recurring. Thank you for taking the necessary correction action.

Takata inflators, while driving or sitting still, engine light comes on & stays on, brakes faulty while driving loud noise, and I have to press down hard on the brakes for it to slow down, driving/stabilized low visibility due to lights, it's very hard to tell if the lights are on our not inside & outside the vehicle, while driving noticed the brakes are unstable. Air bag sensor is always on, open door indicators don't work, drove car and door wasn't fully closed although I knew I closed the door fully, driving on the highway, and driver side door opened unexpectedly. Trunk door opens unexpectedly, trouble keeping it closed, gas door doesn't open/close properly. Loud noise in motion, trouble picking up speed.

On Saturday January 10 2015 I was driving I was coming to a intersection when the stop light change I press on my brakes and my car did not stop even after I was pumping it it did nothing my steering became locked the only recourse I had was to pull the emergency brakes to prevent my car from hitting anyone. I ending up in the middle of the intersection. Even after I was able to stop and move my car away the brakes and steering did not work. This is now preventing me from driving since I don't know if and when it might happen again. Also I have notice any one that is sitting in the passenger seat and is seat belted the sensor is not able to recognized that it giving alert that the person need to put on the seat belt this is a safety concern that Honda refuse to acknowledge.

Vehicle has grinding noise. Brought to Honda (norm reeves Honda/huntington beach) dealership. Found that left front sensor broke off . Issue: why would a brake pad early warning device (sensor break off). Left side broke completely, the right side was half broke. Is this a safety issue? my daughter was driving this vehicle and there was no indication that brakes are compromised. It also caused extra cost by causing rotors to be replaced.

Brakes making screeching noise, rotors had to be resurfaced at 34,000 highway miles and now 20,000 miles later brakes are not braking properly , screeching and caliper leaking and brake sensor has broken off. I've been a Honda owner all my life and never had this problem. Dont expect any customer service help from corporate I was brushed off.
We had the Honda Civic almost 6 months, all the driving like 99% has been fwy driving-anyway,happened to be in la for an appt and had a good 40 ft between me and the car infront of me. . Car infront applied brake so did I , I just kept going- brake went to floor. . I was totally stunned. - happened so fast, I had no other option but to hit car infront. . It kind of felt like sliding- it was a sunny day, dry outside, nothing to slide on but that is the only way to describe nothing to stop me but the other car. . If I went left to avoid car, I would ve been hit by oncoming traffic so stunned the brakes were not there. . So I rear ended the car that stopped us. . She had a laredo cherokee- after the impact we wondered why the air bags didn't come out, it was pretty direct. . I can only guess that her car was higher so the sensors didn't go off?? car is at body shop for last two weeks. . I told our insurance, I told the body shop, I told the hubby and everyone else that asked that I pushed the brake in and not a damn thing happened. . I talked to the service guys at the Honda that it has seen for regular maintenance going by computer menu thingy. . I ve been early or on time getting it serviced. . They said "the brakes are suppose to work that way" really? I'd be devastated if there was an animal, a person, infront of me I would have hit them and gone over them. . I ve never ever had a car respond that way. . After the hit, I moved to the side. . Automatically used e brake. I then drove it a mile further at a crawl to a parking garage to make calls. . I drove at a snails pace. . You could've walked next to us. . 2 hrs later, I drove it two more miles at the same speed to body shop. . I have asked them to look at it. . They haven't yet. . The car is in pieces as they fix but they promised too. The guy was surprised we weren't injured. . I don't want to drive it again. .
I bought my 2006 Honda Civic lx in November 2005. In August 2008 the wear sensor on the front brakes were squealing and I had to have the brake pads replaced and the rotors machined at 8976 miles. I was told that because I live in a geographically hilly area that my brakes would wear sooner than other areas. I find this unusual, other cars that I have driven in the same area did not have this problem. Since then I have had the front pads replaced and the rotors machined on 8/13/07 at 19,093 miles, on 6/2/08 at 27,878 miles and on 12/8/08 at 33,831 miles the pads had to be replaced again and I needed new rotors. I went to a different mechanic this time and they put on different pads which are still doing fine. I wrote to Honda and spoke to a manager there and was told that this is a wear issue and there would be nothing they could do about it. I also feel that Honda is not standing by the quality they used to. My sister has a 2001 Honda Civic and had her brake pads changed for the 1st time in 2008.

: the consumer stated the check maintenance light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealership to determine the problem. The dealership discovered the battery needed to be replaced. After the battery replacement, the check maintenance light went off. The vehicle was driven for a few days and the check maintenance light illuminated once again. Later, the consumer was involved in a rear end collision while traveling at 35 mph on a wet road. The brakes were applied, but the vehicle failed to stop before striking another vehicle in the rear end. The seat belts were in use and no injuries were sustained. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was inspected and diagnostics were performed to determine why the air bags did not deploy. The codes showed faulty sensors in the air bags. The dealer determined further testing would be required before a final decision could be made on the air bag failure. Update 2/24/2006 -.
Automibile accident occurred on December 27, 2004 for failure of brakes, on impact excessive force of deployed airbag caused hand injury. Brake pedal fade when car was in idle, clicking sound of brake line when stepping on brake pedal. Car was serviced for a faulty gear positioning sensor as well.

I have a 2000 Honda Civic ex. From the first day of ownership, the car's antiskid brakes sometimes kick in when not needed. For example, riding over bumps such as a railroad sometimes sets the antiskid off and it continues for some time after the railroad has passed, thus unnecessarily increasing stopping distance. Sometimes just on plain road it does the same. It seems to occur more in cold weather. We have a 2000 accord and it doesn't act this way. I have driven many other Honda's and none ever acted this way. I am afraid this major safety defect may someday lead to a very serious accident. I have complained long and hard to Honda corporation, but they insist the described problem is impossible to occur. They maintain that the brakes are a 'black box', and either work perfect or not, all the time. They have looked at the car, and said since they claim they cannot duplicate the problem and since it can't possibly occur anyway in their opinion, I am out of luck. Surely my Honda is not the only car this ever occurred in. It is almost like something is loose, like a sensor or a right front suspension component(s). Please help before Honda corporation kills someone. I have told Honda that I personally hold them accountable for any accident. Thanks. J ricky simmons.
