The paint is coming off the trunk of the car in circular patches. There are also numerous spots on the front hood where the paint is fading. Back in the day your car would rust before the paint job would go bad! very disappointed in the appearance of my car.

My car is dark pearl blue. The paint began peeling on trunk and rooftop of car around April 2017. It began as white chalky splotches and has grown. Today most of rooftop is exposed along with trunk and now tops of doors starting to peel. The reps at my dealership stated there isn't a recall for this paint. Everything I read states Honda used cheaper paint on certain year vehicles. They should be held accountable and provide owners with paint jobs. I don't understand why they only pulled in odyssey vehicles and not all vehicles with this issue.

The paint is peeling off of my Civic. I contacted Honda and they stated they will do nothing about it. I never heard of paint peeling off a car before.

Several areas of the vehicle have begun to have paint crack and peel, including the hood, roof, trunk and quarter panels. Honda has admitted this was a defect, but you only had 7 yrs from the original date of purchase to file a claim which I was unaware until after this deadline.

Clear coat failed allowing paint to be exposed. Paint is now deteriorating, eventually leading to rust. Extensive failure on roof, trunk and front fender.

Paint clear coat is coming off on doors, was coming off on trunk and top but was taken care of by recall. The rest developed later after the recall rhe car not looking good and I keep it up very good.

The 'check airbag' light comes on all the time when I seat or while driving. When I bought the car the paint was bubbly and had rust spots.

Paint and clear coat peeling.

The paint began to peel away from the car about 1. 5 years ago. The dealer said it was due to normal wear and tear. Refused to fix the problem. Car looks horrible.

I noticed paint was really deteriorating on my wife's Civic on top hood and trunk. I started a web search only to find that there has been a known problem for years. I found out that there was a Honda campaign to correct the issue but it expired last year. I contacted local dealership and told there was nothing they could do. They did take pictures to hold for record. I escalated to Honda America customer service who gave me file # 4452996 to have the issue reviewed. The customer service was horrible. Many phone calls directly to voicemail without response for days. I was told by ron l. To go ahead and schedule the service with local dealership. I said, "does this mean the paint job will be covered, and he said either part or all should be covered. Before I get a chance to schedule an appointment, another cs agent, tony called and left me a message stating that I should call him right away regarding my file number. 2nd agent alled me and stated that his field representative would be at the local dealership to look at the pictures and make a decision. I receive a call from tony yesterday telling me the claim had been denied. I asked him why and he told me he had no information on why it was rejected and to get in contact with the local Honda dealership service manager for more information. The paint is deteriorating exactly how those covered by the campaign were deteriorating. I can send pictures if helpful.

I purchased the car in 2015 and within the first year paint began to coming off the entire body of the vehicle. I asked the business that I had purchased the vehicle from and was told to get a paint job. I just did not know what to do. I was a senior of 65 years old and did not know how to handle the situation.

A few months ago I noticed discoloration of paint on my roof. It could have been there for quite some time and I just never noticed it. Today while getting an oil change, the tech advised me that Honda had had a recall on Honda Civics and other models to cover the repainting of fading and/or peeling paint, clear coat, etc. , on the affected year models. I had never been advised of the recall or I would have brought it in sooner.

I've been noticing that the paint on my car is slowly peeling off of my hood, roof and trunk. The hood is the worst. Is there any way that this can be fixed? this is not normal wear and tear.

Paint on my navy blue Civic is deteriorating on the trunk, hood and roof. Also my passenger sun visor is broke. It looks like it melted and cracked for no apparent reason. There have been many complaints about paint peeling and chipping . You would think that Honda would take responsibility for the problem.

Paint oxidation on roof, hood and trunk of car.

Exterior paint is flaking off and is down past its clear coat. The most concentrated area this is occurring/has occurred is on the outside of the truck lid in addition to the outside roof of the car. I'm not sure if this is only occurring in certain colors or with certain paint Honda used but, fiji blue pearl is the color of my Civic and this has been an ongoing issue since around 2011 and now rust in beginning to appear in areas. Please advise.

Due to Honda's admitted poor paint job, paint began coming off (on roof first). Honda said they extended warranty, without notifying owners. Also say it is not safety risk. If the roof rusts, the sun roof will certainly dismount causing safety issue; if side panels rust, exhaust enters passenger compartment causing safety issue. Furthermore, headlights cloud tremendously regardless of preventative attempts. If driver can't see properly or another car cannot see the Honda, it is a safety risk. Honda America is simply a lame, perhaps once good company now trying to ride on reputation to sell poorly constructed vehicles and deny all liability for faulty work by claiming it is not a safety issue. So far, nothing has happened, and I'd like to keep it that way. However, if Honda America does not own their mistakes and faulty work, correct the problems it is a matter of time before a safety breech occurs.

The paint started to peel at only 65,000 miles, back in 2015. The car, at that point, was 8 years old. It peeled in literally just a few months time. It's now patchy on the hood, roof and trunk.

In July of 2015, the paint on my car slowly started chippingm now its full blown ridiculous and makes Honda cars look not worth the investment. I will stay away from purchasing with Honda from now on, though I love my vehicle. 2009 Honda Civic si.

Paint is peeling on roof. Last week as I was loading a toddler into the vehicle, he managed to grab a piece of chipped paint and put it in mouth. I did some researched and discovered that Honda had issues with this particular paint. However, they are not taking responsibility since I missed their deadline. I am grateful that I was able to intercede and take the piece of paint out of my nephew's mouth and prevent him from going to the emergency room but could you imagine the potential risks out there. Based on my research it is common for this paint to chip on the roof and trunk, and I cannot believe that Honda is simply looking the other way. I guess we only have to wait and see the repercussions of their negligence and hope that drivers are vigilant when loading/unloading unruly toddlers from these questionable vehicles.

Clear coat & paint still fading after it was repainted by cleobay Honda in 2014. Side airbag warning light is on most of the time for no reason. Sun visor's where replaced twice last in 2014 and are broken again. They will not stay up or down.

The paint is wearing off the roof and the trunk. This should not happen and is a well known problem with Honda's. They only offered to pay 15% of a bill of at least $1350.

The paint on the vehicle has been chipping off throughout various sections of the car¿s body, down to the undercoat. I purchased the vehicle new, and it has never been in any accidents, or been repainted for any reasons. The problem started occurring approximately two years ago. The nature of the issue is does not pertain to any of the conditions described in the note section of this vehicle information form. I approached Honda regarding the issue, but was told that this issue is not considered under the company¿s recall policy. Honda vehicles are well known for problems regarding paint, and Honda and several Honda owners are fully aware of such problems. I am looking for assistance to address and resolve this issue. Please help us consumers preserve our rights and get the protection we need against corporations, such as Honda, that profit from us and don¿t adequately stand by us by honoring the quality of their products and services.

I have a 2008 Honda Civic ex and I take really good of my car, the paint on top is fading to the metal, I see this is a problem for a lot of Honda Civic's. Also I am having major electrical problems, awhile ago my horn randomly stopped working and then 5months later started working again, then my passenger window wont roll up or down half the time, the lights where my stero is stopped working and now the buttons on the radio or on my steering wheel are working, when I turn my heat/ac up or down it messes with my headlights. I had all the fuses checked and they are just fine. Wondering if anyone else is having electrical problems and if there is a recall!!! I love Honda but I am to the point where I want to get a different car and not go with Honda.
