Sudden acceleration due to gas pedal getting "stuck". Once a red light turned green vehicle was put into motion from completely stopped position. After a few yards driver had to brake not to hit the truck in front of it, which was going slower than vehicle in question. Instead of reducing speed, driver faced a sudden acceleration that made the vehicle crash into the truck. Even with the impact, the acceleration continued and vehicle crashed again into the same truck. Driver realized the vehicle was not reducing its speed by applying the brake pedal and therefore vehicle was put into parking and turned off. In an attempt to turn the vehicle on again the vehicle made a very loud accelerated noise but driver could not take vehicle from parking position and noticed brake and gas pedals were stiff. Vehicle had to be towed. Honda was contacted and requested to go see the vehicle before it is taken apart (in order to find evidence), but its representative said the only thing they can do is take the vehicle for a test drive to try to reproduce the problem once the vehicle is repaired and safe to be driven again. Basically, Honda doesn't show interest in investigating further and will wash its hands if problem cannot be reproduced, which will likely be the case, or else the vehicle won't even be able to leave the repair center where it currently is and taken for such "test drive". Sadly, Honda just lost a loyal customer.

After accelerating the 2007 Honda crv, the auto continued to accelerate rapidly on its own. Applying the brakes did little to stop the acceleration. After 4/10th of a mile the driver was able to get the car into neutral, stopped, and at the side of the road. When the engine was restarted it raced at full speed. It was also impossible to get the car out of "park" and into neutral. (4 attempts were made over a 30 min period). Vehicle was towed to mechanic. Mechanic reported than when he received the car he need to jump start the 1 year old battery and was able to start the car normally. He does not know what happened and will continue to run tests.

Three times dangerous and unwanted acceleration when braking at stop light. Engine severely revved up, had to put vehicle into neutral. Took it into Honda dealership where we purchased the vehicle. They had their mechanic check it out and could find nothing wrong. The next day we had a meeting with the district service manager and he had it rechecked and he took it for a test drive. He could not recreate the problem and therefore couldn't do anything more. Since they couldn't diagnose a problem, he said to continue driving it to see if the situation recurred. I am now afraid to drive my new six month old car and have lost faith in its reliability.
As the driver was pulling into a parking space under 10 mph, the vehicle had a sudden acceleration. The driver had just removed his foot from the accelerator. At the time of the acceleration there was no contact with the brake or accelerator. The car did not respond as the brakes were applied and the vehicle struck a cement barrier. (there is a police report filed for inspection) the damage to the vehicle was $ 2,500. There was no other vehicle involved and no injuries reported.
The engine suddenly accelerated in a parking garage. The brakes slowed the car on the first acceleration, but almost immediately the engine again revved-- to a shrill, loud sound like that of a jet engine. Result : car rammed into a support pillar in the garage; airbag deployed, and I was wearing my seat belt. Car may be totaled, still awaiting estimate from insurance. I spent 4 days in the hospital for surgery on my broken arm, multiple bruises and swollen face, and will not be able to drive for 3-4 months.
Tl- the contact owned a 2011 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light to make a left turn, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward about 20 mph while the contact was pressing down the brake pedal. The contact stated that there were no warning lights illuminated at the time. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into a nearby fence and proceeded forward into a cluster of bushes which is where the vehicle came to a stop. The airbags deployed. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. A police report was filed. The contact stated they sprained their right hand and medical attention was needed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, however, a case was not opened regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000. Gl.
2010 Honda crv. Consumer states unintended acceleration
the consumer stated as he/she slowed down with his/her foot on the brake to park, the vehicle continued in motion. Before the consumer realized what was happening, she/he had already hit a fence, which ripped the bumper from the vehicle. The consumer received a recall notice and believed the recall was the reason he/she experienced the failure.

Original owner of 2006 Honda Cr-v with 43,500 miles and automatic transmission. Upon entering garage at residence, experienced sudden acceleration resulting in vehicle lurching forward into garage striking partially closed garage door and hitting rear concrete block wall of garage with sufficient force to dislodge wall and activate driver's side air bag. Driver suffered moderate burns to right arm from air bag deployment. Vehicle sustained severe front end damage. Am concerned that even if vehicle can be repaired, possibility of another similar event is troubling. I hope Honda will investigate this accident and report its findings.
2003 Honda Cr-v sudden acceleration due to gas pedal getting stuck. While making left turn from completely stopped position, cars picked up sudden acceleration and would barely stop after using both normal and emergency brakes. After incident, car gear was put into parking and car was turned off. While turning on car in parking gear, rpm line jumped to 4500 rpm and car continued to make acceleration noise. This continued for sometime. Problem disappeared on in its own after 30 minutes and repeated attempts to start car. Car drove normally after problem disappeared. Exact rootcause of problem is unknown and there is uncertainty that it may come back and could result in injuries if car does not stop.
Problem: sudden acceleration due to defective throttle body. The idle rpms are excessive upon startup and lead to sudden acceleration during braking to a stop. Background: malfunction lamp light was constantly turning on and off. Took the car to a Honda dealership and they only found the error code for the O2 sensor. Later took it to a local mechanic to fix the O2 sensor and they found a defective throttle body (error code p0122). There are several forums which address this exact issue on 2002-2004 Honda crv.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. She stated that while pressing on the gas pedal onto the ramp the vehicle started to accelerate rapidly and pressed on the brake pedal and it did not slow down. She then pulled over and tried to shift into neutral and when it passed the park position the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test and it could not be duplicated. No repairs were made to the vehicle and is at the dealership. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 50,000.
We experience sudden acceleration with our Honda crv 2006. It is an intermittent problem and can happen at varying speeds on highway or streets. We have no floor mats by the way. When we drive to the dealership they keep telling us there is nothing they can do to help us. "since everything is computerized the car must be doing the actual sudden acceleration when you bring it in," we were told. We find this unacceptable and felt it wise to report to you. How can we get help? national Honda customer center said the same thing to us.
My Honda crv 2007 vehicle did a sudden acceleration of half the vehicle length when attempting to park the car. If anyone would have been in front of my vehicle, they would be dead. In light of all the Toyota press, I decided to report this. I did have a floor mat in place, was it caught in the gas pedal? have their been any report of trouble with the Honda crv? this occurred once only and I did remove floor mats. This occurred on November 23, 2009. I would appreciate any information on this as it was very frightening and still concerns me. .
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Cr-v. While the contact was attempting to back out of a parking space the contact noticed that the vehicle suddenly accelerated in reverse. Instantly the contact switch the gear selector to drive where the vehicle again accelerated causing the vehicle to crash into a nearby store. Also the contact noticed that the brake was depressed during the entire incident. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealership where the contact was informed that there were no problems in the vehicle. There is a police report for the accident and no one was injured. There were no prior warnings and the current and failure mileage were 26900.
Sudden acceleration also occurred with my 2003 Honda crv on at least two occasions in 2007. Both times I took the car to the dealer ship and was told they were unable to find any problem. The second incident almost caused me to hit some one even though I applied the brakes with both feet and damaged the brakes in the process. I was terrified to drive the car, not knowing when the sudden acceleration and lunging would happen. I returned to the dealership and demanded to find the cause or I would refuse to drive a car that is possessed. I was never given a satisfactory explanation of the cause and was just told it was something with the computer. I had no problem since, but it is always in the back of my mind, especially sine the Toyota issues with sudden acceleration. I do not believe I am the only person who had this problem .
When breaking to a stop the car suddenly accelerates. It has happened to me three times in 20,000 miles. Only to me, not my wife who drives it 99% of the time. The last time it happened I clearly was aware my foot was in no way touching the accelerator pedal . The engine speed only jumped up to approx. 2000rpm the dealer checked it over @ no charge to me with no findings.

April 5, 2003 it was about 9:00 pm. I had just paid my toll on the new jersey side of the river. I was traveling westbound on the ben franklin bridge towards philadelphia. I was traveling about 35 mph and was in the right-hand lane in order to take the exit off to the right to get onto south I-95. This exit ramp is at the bottom of the bridge on the pennsylvania side of the delaware river. As I was nearing the bottom of the bridge, my 1999 Honda crv suddenly accelerated with such high rpms that it surged forward at an extremely rapid rate. It took off on its own so fast that not even the brakes would or could slow it down. I actively applied my brakes but to my horror, my brakes would not work and could not slow down the car. The car kept accelerating uncontrollably. I even pulled up on my emergency brake and tried to maneuver my car as I was traveling at a rapid pace through the traffic and could not stop my car until it crashed into another. This horrific accident totaled my car and resulted in the death of a woman in another car. My injuries kept me in the hospital for a week. A taxi driver had some injuries. He was treated and released. The Honda crv was totalled and the car is being kept in storage, pending further investigation.
