Oil levels in car are above the dipstick and smell like petroleum has leaked into the oil. The fix that Honda introduced for the oil dilution issue has clearly not worked. Inside of car has a petroleum smell. Makes me lightheaded/dizzy. I had to pull over on the side of the highway - stop the car and air it out. There was not accident, but this continue issue can cause a major problem while driving including accident, injury and death.

Engine oil levels are high due excessive dilution by petroleum. As a result the oil pan is high causing oil leaks. There are new oil drips in my garage every day. I'm sure the engine oil is leaking intermittently when I drive; I also notice oil drips on the ground at work. The oil level continues to be high even with the leaks. Honda dealership confirmed the oil has petroleum in it. Honda also accepts dilution is normal in their cars with this engine, yet the dealership denied any safety concerns with the leak. The dealership simply added a dye and asked that I continue driving and come back for an oil change which will be due in about 3000 miles. The oil mixed with petrol caught on fire when I was smoking in the garage. This is a serious safety concern for everyone that works in their garage, smokes, cooks or has a heat source near it. It can cause fire and death. High chances of engine stalls due to excessive pressure.
The issue was discovered when doing an oil level check. After seeing a problem I changed the oil and filter. The dealer had put 3. 8 qts. In, but 5. 0 qts. Came out. The old oil was very dirty and very thin. The issue = fuel leaking into the engine oil of Honda's 1. 5 turbo engine, installed into the 2019 Honda Cr-v. This appears to be the same problem as with the 2017 & 2018 models. Honda reported that their fix (apparently a software change) would be applied to the 2019 model. The fix does not seem to have worked. I do have a case number from american Honda motor CO.

When starting the vehicle, a strong gasoline smell is present in the cabin. After checking online, checked the engine oil and there was a gasoline smell on the dipstick. The engine oil was above the full line due to the gasoline leaking into the oil compartment.
Oil level rises to above height mark on dipstick. Engine power loss. Smell of gas in cabin. Oil leak because of rising oil level in engine.
Fuel leaking into oil. When checking oil that is not overdue for changing, oil level is well over full and had strong gasoline odor.
Engine oil leaks and stores on the undercarriage, then leaks altogether and on floor- slip and falls in garage.
When I go to Honda dealership, they tell me I have no recalls on my car, although im reading everywhere else, and im getting notices in the mail on a few of them. I feel like im being lied to about my car and im afraid that my car is going to fall apart the longer I keep it. I would like to see if I can get someone to advocate for me on the issies that I am having with the Honda dealership/corporation. I was on my way home from work three days ago, and I could not get my car to shift into reverse, I released the shift button and it popped out onto my floorboard. Honda now says they will not cover the full cost of repair. My recall that I was supposed to have done about my motor leaking gas into the oil was never repaired and they are telling me that even though I got the notice in the mail, my vehicle shows does not need repaired. Please help me. I have never felt so helpless and they tell me I was never sent a recall notice, when I have it in my hand.
Gasoline leaking into the engine lubricating oil. When I bought the car the dealer assured me that Honda had taken care of the problem. I feel that a recall is justified since this will certainly lead to shorter engine life and could possibly lead to an engine fire. I noticed the problem after checking the oil after a trip of 500 miles.
Oil usage is extremely high with no visible leaks, and engine is dry. I am at the point of my oil needing to be changed, and my oil was nearly empty. I have put in 3 qt's in the last 3 weeks. Also, I live in nys, and on cooler days to freezing days, there is a loud grinding rattle that happens when I start my car. I had a 2010 that did the same thing.

Gas leaks into the engine while I'm driving, which will inevitably engine failure and the car will stall while driving, this poses a risk for motor vehicle collision. . The Honda dealer where I purchased the vehicle is aware of this and recommended an oil change. 48 hours later my oil is completely diluted with gasoline again. There is a strong gas odor in the cabin of my car which is a health hazard to myself and my 2 small children, one with asthma. I've contacted Honda of America several times regarding this issue with no solution.

Gasoline is leaking into the engine oil. A warranty repair was done Jan 2019 to resolve the problem but in sept 2019 the engine oil was noted to be above full and smell of gasoline. The car was brought in for further repair but no further repair is available and because Honda claims this to be "a normal characteristic" of the car, no oil change was done either. However, the Honda 2018 Cr-v manual clearly points out that over filling the oil may lead to leaks or engine damage. Copies of the repair receipt and Honda oil overfill warning are attached.
My vehicle was stalled in the early morning of July 17, 2019 in a parking lot and towed to a Honda dealership nearby. The mechanic's diagnosis was that the vehicle stall was caused by the shortage of all fuses in the primary fuse box due to leaking oil from the timing chain cover of the engine. The mechanic mentioned that the oil leak occurred for a while so it shorted out the fuses through the incased electrical wires. I think that it definitely is a safety issue because my life could be in a danger if the shortage occurred when I drove this vehicle on the highway. Therefore, I wanted your agency to raise this safety issue related to Honda crv to Honda manufacturer and consumers who are currently driving a similar type of the vehicle. I am currently cooperating with a representative from Honda customer service for an investigation of this serious safety issue. Sincerely, (xxxx) p. S. This is about my 2018 Honda Cr-v ex with around 14,700 miles at present. My whole family and a friend went to yakima,wa for cherry picking. On our way there from seattle,wa while driving using adaptive cruise control (acc) and lane keeping assist system (lakas) suddenly a warning from the screen appeared that says. . . "power reduced - power grille problem" and then we can not accelerate the speed. Luckily we made it to the shoulder of the highway for emergency park and wait for 5 to 10 minutes until the warning goes out from the screen. When it goes out we start the engine and start driving again and after 7 to 10 minutes the warning goes on again ,stop and goes again for the third time and we decided to turn off the acc and lkas and drive in a lower speed 60 to 65 mph in a 70 mph speed limit zone. The next morning I checked the engine oil fill compartment and the engine oil dipstick and found out they have a strong gasoline smell. Gasoline leaks to the engine oil compartment. When I checked the dipstick , the oil is dripping like water with blackish color because of the gasoline mixed to the oil. I reported it to the dealership for service and told me not to drive the car going to them instead the towing company (aaa) do the job to take it to the dealership. And the day when I picked up the car they told me that the gasoline I smell from the compartment is normal due to combustion. I asked them to check the engine oil dipstick to prove to them that it smells gasoline and dripping like water with blackish color (this is a newly changed pure synthetic engine oil /90% remaining). They did not check the dipstick and told me they can do nothing about it and told me to it's normal. They said it's safe to drive my car. I'm just hoping this problem be resolved very soon.
The car started to leak oil at about 55000 miles. The oil leaks between engine and transmission. The Honda dealer checked and said it may be caused by the gallery bolt and seal, the part numbers are 12208-p8c-a01 and 90401-pr4-000 and the transmission has to be removed to replace them, it's 16 hours' work. It's so unreliable and costly to fix.

Tl the contact's friend owns a 2017 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that fuel was leaking into the engine oil without warning. When the contact's friend checked the oil, the oil tank had overflowed and a fuel odor was detected on the oil dipstick. The contact's friend took the vehicle to don ayres Honda (4740 lima rd, fort wayne, in 46808, 260-484-0551) and was informed that they could replace the oil. The manufacturer was notified and provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 36,000.
Gas is leaking into oil. Disolution of oil impacts lubrication of engine. The vehicle is parked and engine cold. More fluid is in the crank case than was added at the last oil change. The oil smelss of gas.
Gasoline leaking into oil. Checking dipstick gives very strong smell of gas. As yet no stalls. 5000 miles on oil and the oil level is at or above full. Car is driven in moderate climate and for typical mixture of trips.
Fuel is leaking into the oil system. Oil has very strong smell of gasoline. Oil dilution is doing untold damage to engine.
Gas in oil after recall. Had the recall that was supposed to fix the issue. A few weeks later and, now my oil is dark, overfilled and smells like gasoline. Check engine light is on and my car started leaking oil after the recall. Less than 15k miles.
My 2018 Honda Cr-v is have a problem with overfilled oil levels with a gas mixed with engine oil and gas smell, this is due to gas leak into oil reservoirs. This is a cause for concern of longevity of the engine and health risk cause from gas smell in the cabin of vehicle. Nhtsa to required Honda to recall this vehicle to get it fix . My vehicle only have 6100 miles on it.
Fuel is leaking down into the oil pan raising the oil levels on the dip stick as mileage increases, which will result in premature potential engine failure. This is also going to hurt the resale value of the vehicle. For example, 2k miles after last oil change, oil levels have increased to a quarter inch above recommended "full level" displayed on the dipstick.
Gas and oil smell in passenger compartment. Gas is leaking into the engine oil causing overfill level. Oil leak on floor of garage. Fear gas in oil will cause premature wear of engine. Just found this was a known problem by Honda in 2017 and 2018 models but still sold me the car. Taking car in. Bought new has 2100 miles now.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that that gasoline leaked into the engine oil and caused engine oil dilution. The contact stated that there was evidence of gasoline on the dipstick. The vehicle was taken to Honda motor work (1475 south barrington road, barrington, IL 60010, (847)-381-8900), where the contact was informed to monitor the oil level and to have the vehicle inspected every 1,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.
Gas improperly leaking into the oil. My original engine failed with no root cause analysis confirming the problem. The dealership installed a different used engine and after 2,500 miles on oil installed in December 2018, sent the oil to a blackstone labs for testing on Feb 1, 2019. They confirmed high levels of gas in the oil. My original engine had a catastrophic failure and it will be repeated again if we cant get Honda to own this problem. Their response so far is there is no problem. This problem seems to happen during the winter months in the midwest. The first sign is the oil dipstick showing oil levels rising over weeks. The final result from the lowered combustion temperature of the oil is an event which converts the remaining oil to sludge which causes engine failure within a short time frame after the car cools down. It's not clear how the high levels of gas in the oil causes the engine failure or how the oil converts to sludge within weeks.

Takata recall the oil level in my Honda extremely raised higher the max. Bar, and it smells gas. I'm scared to drive my car on highway becaus I don't know what can happen if the oil will leak or the car will just suddenly stope. Please address this issues to Honda. Thank you.
On multiple occasions, while getting an oil change on my 2017 Honda crv, the maintenance tech told me that my oil smelled very much like gasoline. Gasoline must be leaking into oil somewhere in engine. This can be a safety and maintenance issue.
After buying this new car I noticed twice gas smell while driving I checked the engine oil it smells gas I took it to the dealer he said the oil has gas in it and advised me to watch the level and the smell, bring it back if engine light turn on or smell strong smell of gas again. The is unsafe to drive since gas leaks to the oil that can cause car to install when oil level gets too high. Also gas smell makes driver and passengers dizzy and increases chance of accident Honda is very lazy to act since this is 3rd generation of crv ex with turbo engine. Honda said that this can happen in very cold weather and with frequent short driving I'm living in georgia , no extreme cold and I drive mostly about 15 miles trips this car is defected as many crv cars with turbo engine.
Gas leaking into the engines oil, causing oil level to rise, strong smell of gas around car concern about the possibility of fire.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact suspected that fuel and oil were in the oil tank, leaking past the cylinders and entering the oil tank. The vehicle was taken to lithia Honda (4095 crater lake hwy, medford, or 97504, (541) 930-3021) where an oil dilution for the fuel odor was performed, but no failure was found. The contact stated that the dipstick showed that the oil was above the full mark. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to call the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 10,864.
Oil dilution, over full oil mark, engine oil leak noticed when stationary. Gas smell inside vehicle.
Checked my oil level it was above the max level. The oil indicator says we have 10% oil life. And the oil smells like gasoline. Went to the dealer they said it's not a problem. They gave us a speech that it's normal to have gas that leaks to the oil and it will evaporate. Our other cars doesnt. It hasn't affected the car yet but just concern that something will happen while I'm driving.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that fuel was leaking into the oil and the check engine indicator kept randomly illuminating. Bosak Honda michigan city (710 hwy 20, michigan city, in 46360, 1-219-874-4293) was notified and stated that the manufacturer sent notification of campaign number: 1245a2 for a product and software update. The dealer serviced the manufacturer campaign, which was not a manufacturer recall, but the remedy failed to provide a permanent repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided a case number. The manufacturer had not issued any fuel system or engine recalls. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 11,800.
The car was not in motion. It is winter in michigan. When checking the oil dipstick the level of oil on the stick was high and smelled strongly of gasoline. Having heard often of this issue with the 2017 turbo crv, I now understand it to be that gasoline is leaking into my oil and could cause stalling while driving. I hope that Honda will address this issue soon and recall its us crv's for repair quickly.
Gas is leaking into the oil system thus overfilling it. I have checked my vehicles oil (less than 500 miles on my car) and the oil line was way passed full. This overfilling can cause premature damage to the engine, which according to experts can cause stalling at random times which poses an immediate threat to the driver and other vehicles on the road. The dealership from which I bought my vehicle did not inform me of this issue even though they know that it is a pressing issue. Hence the reason the 2019 Cr-v's have not yet been released.
