I have a 2017 crv 1. 5t. I currently have confirmed fuel dilution and a p219f (emission systems problem) code. Records show TSB 18-114 was performed as Honda tried to fix the fuel dilution problem through an ecm software update but it did not fix the issue. They followed it up with TSB 19-067 which was to further update the ecm software. The problem is this was not applied to all crv 1. 5t including mine. This is known ongoing defect and leads to car going into limp mode in highway driving. That is dangerous and a safety hazard. Honda should update the ecm software fix for all Honda crvs using the 1. 5t and replace faulty fuel injectors.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the fuel delivery system and engine power management. The vehicle suffers from sudden "limp mode" activation and total loss of acceleration. The vehicle is available for inspection. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety was severely compromised when the vehicle suddenly lost power while traveling at highway speeds. This occurred twice in high-speed traffic, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could no longer maintain the flow of traffic or accelerate away from danger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no. The issue was reported to a dealer in 2024, but because the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) turned off after a restart, the dealer was unable to reproduce the failure or find stored error codes at that time. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? yes, it was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer in 2024, but no repairs or actions were taken as they could not replicate the fault. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no. There were no prior symptoms or early warnings. In both incidents (2024 and yesterday), the engine light illuminated simultaneously with a sudden, localized loss of speed and a total inability to power up or accelerate while on the highway.
1. The vehicle accelerated rapidly and uncontrollably without my touching the gas pedal and despite my slamming the breaks. 2 the vehicle jumped a curb and slammed into a parked car. Someone could have been easily killed if they were in front of the vehicle. 3. Not yet. I will have it towed to the dealer tomorrow. 4. No, see #3 above. 5. No. This was the first time this happened.
Woke up at [xxx] [xxx] to neighbor banging on door and yelling your car is on fire. Vehicle is parked in front driveway, front part of the car where engine is ablazed. Neighbor said he heard "pops" like firecrackers/gunshot when he went to look out his window the fire was reflected on the fence across the car. I did google search for possible fire causes and search returned with recall notice for fuel pump, battery and battery cladding on model. Contacted Honda but aileen just promised to send inspector for joint inspection with usaa inspector but hasn't been responsive to call or emails for follow up. Fortuntaely, didn't park in the garage or we would have been burned down with the house also quite fortunate that car was driving on the road. Vehicle is being inspected by insurance usaa and will get report on insurance details with american Honda not responding to report case #[xxx] they keep fobbing me off by asking to call back 1-800-999-1009 x 88146 or email ahmcustomersupport@ahm. My 2018 crv was taken to dick ide Honda for a recall on my fuel pump. The next day I was driving my car and it just stopped running and I drifted off to the side of the road. It would not start up but had power in the car. No warning signs or lights. I had it towed back to dealer that just worked on it and they stated that they did nothing wrong and and now they need to do a system check / diagnosis at $185. 00 an hour to see what is wrong with it. My car worked fine before the dealer had it and now it doesn't work. And they are going to charge me for diagnosing it. I don't feel comfortable or trust that they have checked my car for whatever mistakes or faulty parts they may have used and my safety is in jeopardy.

When driving on the highway at the speed of traffic, the check engine light appeared and was followed by a loss of engine power. Vehicle had to be pulled over to the shoulder. After shutting the vehicle off and turning it back on, engine power was restored. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety is a major concern if unable to move the vehicle out of traffic before coming to a stop with no power. The Honda dealer ran a diagnostic and did not find an issues. They were also unable to reproduce the problem. The vehicle has not been inspected by any other parties. -1st incident: August 15, 2025 -2nd incident: October 31, 2025 -inspected by dealer: November 13, 2025 -3rd and most recent incident: April 2, 2026.

After we had our car serviced for the two recalls on the car, all of the check engine lights came back on again a little over one week later. We took it back to the dealership today and were told the fuel injectors need to be replaced, and they said this is a "common problem. " we have been researching this issue and it is a common problem, so why isn't there a fuel injector recall? our car has less than 54,000 miles on it but Honda is saying we will need to pay over $1700 for new fuel injectors, despite that this is a known problem.
"fuel pump issues directly cause injector system failures". Today Honda assured me than the fuel pump recall could not interfere in the injector system, that's totally false now I have to changed injector system and spark plugs to my own expense. On Monday 6th of April 2026 showrd engine light as well as stalling when driving on Monday 30th of March ac comprrssor smoked, also need to be replaced.
On March 28, 2026, the check engine light illuminated on my 2017 Honda Cr-v ex (VIN [xxx] ) at 59,057 miles. I pulled diagnostic trouble codes with a consumer obd-ii reader and recorded p0301, p0302, and p0303. On March 30, 2026, I contacted american Honda customer service to request goodwill repair assistance. I was told to obtain an authorized dealer diagnostic and resubmit. I did so. On March 31, 2026, I had goudy Honda perform an authorized diagnostic (repair order #315466. Goudy confirmed the stored dtcs were p0300 (random misfire detected), p0301 (cylinder 1 misfire detected), and p0302 (cylinder 2 misfire detected). The dealer recommended replacement of all four fuel injectors at a quoted cost of $1,961. 17 plus tax, and stated the injectors were out of factory, powertrain, and emission warranties. This dtc set (p0300–p0304 and p0172) is the exact set addressed by american Honda motor CO. 's own service bulletin 18-124 and service bulletin 19-037. On April 10, 2026, Honda corporate denied assistance on the ground that the vehicle is "out of warranty. " on April 20, 2026, a Honda corporate representative named desiree called me to say that american Honda will not document in writing the reasoning for the denial and will send only a generic template. This matches the pattern of consumer complaints described in bissell v. American Honda motor CO which catalogs hundreds of similar odi complaints and alleges that american Honda has known of, and concealed, a defect in its 1. 5l I-vtec turbocharged engine since at least 2016. Safety concern: misfire events at freeway speed produce sudden loss of power, limp-mode activation, and the risk of unexpected deceleration in traffic. The class complaint documents multiple incidents of sudden stalls and engine failures in comparable vehicles, including on highways. I am filing this complaint to ensure odi has a record of this incident and to support any existing or future investigation of this engine. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia).
System/component involved: fuel system / fuel injectors / high-pressure fuel joint pipe description of incident and safety risk: my 2017 Honda Cr-v (1. 5t engine) experienced a fuel system failure evidenced by dtc p0172 and a failed af cylinder test, confirmed by an authorized Honda dealer. This failure leads to engine hesitation and power loss, creating a safety hazard during operation. More critically, during the repair (case #16244235), the dealer and manufacturer refused to replace the high-pressure fuel joint pipe. According to Honda’s official service manual and tsbs for the earth dreams 1. 5t engine, this pipe is a mandatory, one-time-use component that must be replaced whenever fuel injectors are serviced. Reusing this component violates Honda’s own safety protocols and poses a severe fire risk due to potential fuel leakage under high pressure ($20\text{ mpa}$+). Safety risk to others: reinstalling a non-reusable high-pressure fuel line creates a high probability of fuel spraying onto hot engine components, leading to an under-hood fire while driving. This endangers the occupants and others on the road. Reproduction and inspection: the injector failure was confirmed by [insert dealer name] in houston, TX. The subsequent safety violation (failure to replace the mandatory fuel joint pipe) is documented on my repair invoice dated April 2026. The vehicle and the old part (if still on the car) are available for inspection. Symptoms and warning lamps: the check engine light (dtc p0172) appeared shortly before the failure, accompanied by a strong gasoline odor and engine stalling symptoms.
Multiple warning lights were turning on then turning off in their own, typically 2-3 days later. However while on, all adas showed errors and did not work. Most recent time, had an elevation changed (over 6000 ft), lights came cascading on parked safely. Next morning, car would not accelerate/was extremely jerky. Turned off waited turned back on, while lights were on car felt to be running fine. Slightly off sounding idle. Dtc showed multiple misfires and error codes with a recommendation to replace fuel injectors. Dealer was surprised given relatively low milage (109000 miles) for this issue to occur.
Started with what sounds like a pump running after car shut down then today whole garage smelled like gasoline.

I was sitting in the car with the car cranked on and then all my warnings lights and messages started flashing and blinking. The car was also idling on it’s on. I was scared because this has never happened before. So after looking for leaks under the hood , looking online to make sense of what was happening, turning it off and back on . I slowly drove to the Honda dealer down the street with my hazards lights on. Also due to it acting as if it wasn’t about to restart when I turned it off, and the car seemed like it wanted to cut off in traffic, this just happened on Saturday 3/14. It was the only incident of this kind, and the following Monday I got a call it was my fuel pump or fuel injection, and I was told gas was in my oil . I don’t know how or why this happened. I believe my car got missed in the recall for the issues the model has. I have done research and it has displayed a few of the issues stated online. I do know I have had other issues with my car screen going completely black in the car and my car throwing on brakes and nothing was there. Just wanted you all to be aware of this since I read this make and model have these issues.
The vehicle displays inaccurate fuel level and miles-to-empty information, creating a safety risk because the driver cannot reliably determine how much fuel is actually available or how far the vehicle can be driven. The infotainment system also freezes and carplay frequently becomes unusable. There was also a key recognition / “key not detected” malfunction. These issues have occurred in a new vehicle and remain unresolved after multiple dealer visits.
While driving, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard and the vehicle immediately began running sluggish with significantly reduced engine power. The vehicle was unable to maintain normal driving speed and was operating below the posted speed limit, creating a potential traffic hazard and increasing the risk of a rear-end collision from faster-moving vehicles. I was able to carefully drive the vehicle home, but the condition persisted. After arriving home, the vehicle required multiple attempts to start, indicating an ongoing issue. I scanned the vehicle using an obd diagnostic tool and retrieved diagnostic trouble code p0087 (fuel rail/system pressure too low), indicating a malfunction in the fuel delivery or fuel pressure system, which may involve the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or related components. There were no prior warning signs before this incident; the warnings and loss of performance occurred suddenly while the vehicle was being driven under normal conditions. The sudden reduction in engine power created a safety concern due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer, police, insurance representatives, or other third parties, but the vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request.
The low pressure fuel pump cannabilized itself and sent debris down the fuel line to the high pressure fuel pump which damaged it. I brought the vehicle to meineke of warner robins and they confirmed the issue with other Honda dealerships in the middle georgia area. Even though there is a safety recall (21v-215) for the model year of my vehicle, my VIN doesn't populate as one of the batches being affected by the recall. To be clear, the issue does match the recall notice description but is not reported as one of the affected vins.

My 2025 Honda crv hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was not pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda dealer service department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. The Honda service rep said sense I have no idea when it is going to happen again he cannot set a appointment for me to come in without having a current issue. Because the acceleration is random and because I cannot recreate it at will, the problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center and the vehicle has not been inspected. The acceleration issue is random and spontaneous with no warning lamps, no messages and no other symptoms prior to. Once it stops it may no happen again for weeks or months. However as mentioned about it has happened at least 4 to 5 times within the past year with the most recent occurrence on March 6th 2026 ----end-----.
Head gasket failure diagnosed by wittmeier Honda in February of 2026 chico CA. Car was initially throwing misfire codes, battery, fuel pump, then fuel injectors were replaced. Took it back to the dealer because car would sputter, dash is blacking out and I'm unable to indicate the speed at which I'm traveling, white smoke from exhaust, misfire, poor gas mileage, car nearly stalling in intersection. Car has been having this issue or possibly other issues contributing to this for nearly 25-30k miles. It is important to note that fuel pump was recalled in this model, car performance has significantly declined over the last 25k miles. This car is well maintained as in; regular oil, changes, transmission flushes, rear differential fluid change, tire rotation every 5-7k miles, brakes and rotors changed nearly every 30k front and back, fixing all issues as they arise. I say all of this so that there is a clear picture of the car maintenance and the issues it is having despite the proper care. This car has had several issues from about 150k miles. In my opinion this is premature for a car this well maintained. Though this car has had several issues over that past year I will put the most pressing and scariest date, the time it almost stalled in an intersection.
I went out to the garage for something and heard what sounded like the fuel pump running. I know there was a recall with the fuel pump relay/module and I'm concerned it was either not repaired correctly or there is still an issue.
Driving at highway speeds in passing lane. Car lost power immediately and all dash lights came on. Very dangerous and almost got hit trying to pull over. Dealer diagnosed high pressure fuel rail pump. Honda dealer charging $1800 to replace high pressure fuel pump.
We are experiencing fule injector issues which causes all the systems to switch off, and has caused issues with the car starting, battery draining and issues in getting the car to accelerate. This car has only 110000 miles and should not be having issues this early.
Fuel injector was replaced part number 06160-5pa-305. It is available to be inspected and I have the failed parts in my possession. This was inspected and identified by an independent service center. Power steering system problem light on main dash alerting with break system alert. The car had been driven immediately prior with no warning signs and no alert lights on the dash and almost a full tank of fuel. Vehicle was parked and running when alerts appeared. Even though the car was in park it rolled forward when foot was taken off the brake and required the emergency break to be used. This put my safety at risk because had this happened 2 minutes prior I would have been driving in a school zone where there was heavy traffic and steering and braking are essential. I plan to take the car to the Honda dealership to have the work inspected. The vehicle has 68,001 miles on it at the time of the issue.
New vehicle with 299 miles, use remote start and heard loud vibration, ticking noise coming from vehicle. Upon entering vehicle ( check engine light ) emissions system problems. Power may be reduced. See your dealer.
My 2018 Honda Cr-v (1. 5l turbo) has a confirmed fuel leak dripping directly onto the starter motor, creating an immediate fire hazard. A Honda dealer (inv #1273851) diagnosed codes p219c and p219d, which are explicitly covered under Honda service bulletin 20-038 for a 150,000-mile warranty extension. Despite the vehicle having 131,528 miles, Honda corporate is refusing to honor the warranty extension, claiming my VIN is not affected, while ignoring the documented failure and the dangerous safety risk.
While highway driving around 60 mph, speed will decrease down to 30. Happened 4 times in the last 3 months. Need to pull over shoulder and shut off the vehicle to reset.
I was pumping gas and during gas started pouring out by the rear tire flap. It was not a whole tank but a large amount. And the next day also noticed a puddle where gas tank lies. This has happened in the past but sporadically and not all of the gas comes out. Also, there is a safety recall on rear fuel feed pipe leaks and fuel pump motor but supposedly not on this particular vehicle year/VIN.
While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2018 Honda Cr-v suddenly lost engine power and rapidly decelerated. At the same time the check engine light began flashing and multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the abs warning light. I was unable to accelerate and the vehicle would not restart after the loss of power. I attempted to guide the vehicle toward the shoulder for safety, but the vehicle was rear-ended shortly after the power loss occurred. The vehicle has since been declared a total loss by my insurance company. Approximately two weeks prior to the incident I experienced intermittent engine sputtering while driving. No repairs had yet been performed at that time. After the accident I discovered that my vehicle VIN is associated with an open fuel pump motor safety recall (exp2) that had not been remedied prior to the incident. The suspected component involved is the fuel/propulsion system related to the fuel pump recall, although this has not yet been confirmed by inspection. The vehicle is currently in the possession of my insurance carrier and may be available for inspection upon request depending on the insurance process. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance representatives following the accident. The sudden loss of power at highway speed created a significant safety risk because the vehicle could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic and could not be restarted.
"while driving my 2018 Honda Cr-v (mileage: 58,800), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/stalling due to a fuel injector failure. This failure caused the vehicle to enter 'limp mode' on a high-speed roadway, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could not maintain flow-of-traffic speeds. My wife and I was just getting on the highway when this occurred. Research indicates this is a recurring manufacturing defect in the 1. 5l turbo engine (referenced in Honda TSB #22-002 and similar internal communications). This is a critical safety issue as the fuel system failure is unpredictable and occurs without prior warning, leaving the driver stranded in dangerous traffic conditions. Honda has not yet issued a safety recall for this VIN despite the widespread nature of the injector defects. ".
When pulling slowly into a parking spot, engaged the brake and the vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing a collision into a brick pillar. Injury to driver occurred.

Problem with emissions system on my 2019 Honda crv. Car was diagnosed and recommended to replace fuel injectors. This is a pervasive problem with Honda vehicles with a previous recall for odyssey, pilot and ridgeline. Honda needs to recall any of their vehicles with this problem and fix it. In addition pervasive issues with their infotainment system which includes navigation. I have had the system go out when using the navigation option while in heavy traffic. Again both of these problems are well documented online with other owners but nothing being done by Honda to remedy either situation.
Vehicle cycled through all of the warnings on the dashboard and lost power when trying to accelerate and engine light came on. Stalled on the side of the highway and had to be towed. Mechanic said the code for the issue was the catalytic converter and O2 sensor.
The vehicle began experiencing repeated engine misfires, hesitation, and loss of power during normal driving. The issue was diagnosed as failing fuel injectors, which is a known issue on this generation of Honda Cr-v. The failure causes sudden hesitation and reduced engine power, particularly during acceleration and at intersections, creating a safety hazard in traffic. In some instances there was a strong fuel odor, raising concern for a potential fuel leak and fire risk. The injectors failed well before normal service life and required replacement. Honda has not issued a recall for many affected vehicles despite widespread reports of similar failures across multiple model years. This defect presents a safety risk due to possible engine stalling, loss of power, and potential fuel leakage.
When driving on the interstate, the car speed went from 75 mph to 10-20 mph over 20 miles. The engine light came on, and the car would not go any faster than 10-20 mph. It was extremely nerve racking trying to get off the interstate and attempt to limp in to topeka KS. It was very cold that day as well.
Vehicle was purchased new on 5/17/2024. On January 16, 2026 the vehicle was brought into a Honda dealership because of 2 lingering issues. 1) it had low power while driving uphill on the freeway. When driving the vehicle from the bay area to reno, the vehicle was unable to keep up with the flow of traffic travelling at the speed limit. Vehicles behind us were agitated. We did not know if this was normal or not and we wanted to have the car checked out. 2) the engine sounded different after the trip to reno. Youtube videos, including some by Honda dealers had advised that the crv hybrid made noises which were considered normal. We wanted to know if the noise that we we're hearing was normal. The vehicle was in the shop for 26 days. The dealer confirmed the low power but had difficulty diagnosing the engine noise, except that it was not normal. The dealer brought in resources from Honda techline on multiple occasions to assist in diagnosis. During the course of the 26 days in the shop, the dealer ultimately found it necessary to rebuild the entire engine, including replacing the block, cylinder heads, lifters, fuel injector, etc. . . . We feel fortunate that we did not experience the more extreme loss of power and limp home mode that has been reported. We are very concerned about the future reliability of the vehicle. From the research that we have done, it appears that the primary cause of many of the engine failures experienced by this year/model are due to failure of the fuel injector system. What is really odd, is that the fuel injector system on our vehicle was inspected by the dealer on February 22, 2025, I. E. , a year before we brought the vehicle in for the current issues.
