Fuel injector failure. Causing spark plug and emission problems. Vehicle 5100 miles.
I was traveling on the highway when suddenly my car started shuddering and slowing down. It was heavy traffic and difficult to navigate to the right shoulder, and my car was nearly hit by a semi-truck. The engine was misfiring and the engine light blinking yellow. I was able to turn off and restart my car and make it home. The mechanic initially thought the issue was old spark plugs and ignition coils. Replacing them didn’t help. I was again on a highway when the issue happened again. I brought the car to the dealership and they said the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. I spent over $2k to replace them on 7/7/25. The problem hasn’t happened since.

As I was driving it felt as if the car was running a bit rough, hesitating/sputtering a bit when I pressed on or let up on the gas. As I pulled into the grocery store parking lot and slowed to go over a speed bump I noticed what looked like the battery indicator show up next to the speedometer & completely lost power. I put it in neutral and tried to restart it. It was as if the battery had run down and then it finally caught but sputtered. I revved the engine and was finally able to pull into a parking spot. I shut the car down for a couple minutes then restart it to drive back home. It still did the hesitation/sputtering thing on the way home. It continued the next day on my 20 mile commute into work but has been driving fine for a couple days now.
My 2024 Honda Cr-v hybrid began experiencing a noticeable loss of engine power and severe shaking while idling. The problem first appeared when I was parked with the engine running, and the car suddenly started vibrating strongly. Shortly after, the “emissions system problem” warning message appeared on the dashboard. A local Honda dealer suspected a malfunction in the fuel injector system, which may have led to improper fuel combustion, reduced acceleration, and overall unstable engine behavior. This issue could increase the risk of an accident, particularly when merging or accelerating in traffic, due to delayed throttle response. Many other Cr-v hybrid owners have reported similar symptoms online, pointing to a potential widespread defect in the fuel delivery system. Despite this, there is currently no official recall for the fuel injectors in this model. I am concerned that this issue, if left unresolved, could lead to engine damage or even pose a fire risk due to unregulated or incomplete fuel combustion. Given the number of reports and the potential danger, I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and consider initiating a recall to protect driver safety.

The fuel injectors got totally clogged and did not run correctly after. They could not be unclogged and had to get new ones. I needed to get the fuel injectors replaced. Every warning you could get on your car came up so that everything was flashing and I could not figure out what the problem was without going to the mechanic.

Car went from regular driving to very rough running engine, multiple warning lights activated and limp mode activated. Drove 25mph to get home. Car was towed to dealership and after inspection, fuel injectors and spark plug # 3 had to be replaced. Many many crv owners seen to be having this problem and this could cause an accident should it happen on a freeway.
2017 Honda Cr-v with 132118 miles has intermittently been experiencing all dash display alarms activating at the same time for past 25k miles. (ie) hill start assist, brake system problem, power steering system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, etc. . . This also disabled the lane keep assist and cruise control features on the car. Dealership ran diagnostic and found code p0172 indicating fuel system too rich and confirmed with a failed air/fuel ratio test. This indicated the car needs complete fuel injector replacement.
The vehicle's all safety warning lights are turning on. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealer for diagnostic testing, who reported that it requires new fuel injectors at a cost of $1,700. 00. In researching the issue, it appears that this is an ongoing problem with multiple 2017 and 2018 Honda crvs.
Vehicle threw codes p0172 and p219e. Vehicle was sluggish and idled rough. All lights on the dash flashed and showed that most safety systems were disabled. Vehicle was taken to Honda service center and confirmed by the dealer. Dealer replaced the fuel injectors. Vehicle was less than a year out of warranty for this specific issue. This seems to be a common issue with this model of vehicle as the service center had the same model with the same issue that day.
When I went to turn on my car, on may 15, 2025, all my warning lights started flashing. It stated multiple system failures and my car started sputtering a bit. I attempted to drive it that way because I really needed to get to work. I was able to get to work but was driving very slow because I had my son with me. When school let out I started my car and all the system failure lights started flashing again. The car started sputtering and shaking again. When I went to leave my school’s parking lot I pressed on the gas pedal and my car barely moved. This happened on a busy street causing the cars behind me to brake quickly since I had no power to get out of their way. I thought I was going to get rear ended with my son in the backseat. I was able to get back into my school’s parking lot and shut off the car. I had to have the car towed to my nearest Honda dealer where it sat overnight since it was towed there right before closing. They diagnosed the vehicle as having a failed fuel injector spill gas into my oil tank and cause a complete mess in my engine. Spark plugs got burnt out as well. Turns out this is a recurring issue with 2019 Honda crvs. This failure cost me a lot of money that has caused me financial difficulties. This problem needs to be addressed and all 2019 crvs should be included in this recall. I’m so scared to drive my car but can’t afford to get another car. I should also get reimbursed for the cost of having the fuel injectors replaced. I’m terrified that I’ll get into an accident next time and that my son could possibly get hurt or die. Please help.
Fuel pump recall completed at mcgrath Honda, st. Charles IL. , on Monday 2/3/2025. Never had any issues with car since purchase in 2019. Since fuel pump recall I have had an additional 3 visits. Car has a rumble and shaking when starting. Revisit on 4/1 shop found no problems all inspections checkout out. Once again car still rubles and shakes when starting. On [xxx] my 17 year old was driving, all emergency lights came on, gas pedal stopped working, (this is a vital safety concern for a gas pedal to stop working) and car overheated. Car required another shopping and upon inspection again no issues identified. On [xxx] again all warning lights activated, car rumbles/ shakes upon starting. Car returned to shop where faulty oring on fuel pump was identified and changed. All warning lights cleared and car returned. On [xxx] car rumbles when starting, all warning lights active and car speed is limited. Car will be shopped for 5th service in 3. 5 months since Honda fuel pump recall. No other major shop events in car since prior since 2018. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
On startup all safety warning lights flashed on and disabled all safety driving aids. This persisted and took to Honda dealer. Their diagnostics revealed faulty fuel injectors with code p0304 failed number 4 cylinder. Recommend replacing fuel injector go for $2000.
While driving at highway speeds with the moonroof open, unburnt fuel can be smelled in the cabin. Dealer was able to confirm fuel smell.
A fuel pump installed in my car on April 25 2025 due to the recall. The new fuel pump has rattled loose.
Driving at approx 45mph local road and suddenly the all warning lights (brake, check engine, hill descent, etc) started flashing. The car started to slow down and I immediately pulled over and turned the car off. Drove to local Honda dealership and they stated it was faulty fuel injector. 2020 Honda crv @96k miles.

Started car to leave from work and as I drove out of parking lot, every warning light came flashing on and car would not accelerate over 20mph and kept fluctuating the speed up to 20. . Luckily not too far from dealer and drove straight there. They say it looks like throttle body needs to be replaces. Have had issues with this car making noise between 30-35mpg since I have had and it still not diagnosed. . . Now this.

A fuel injector issue disables key safety features of our Cr-v's when it occurs. (ex. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, tps, hill start assist, braking, etc. . . ) check engine light comes on. All warning lights are turned on randomly (electronic brake system, tpms, hill climb assist, etc) remain on for some time (a few minutes, hours, days), and then all of these warnings vanishes after some time and driving a few miles (this also varies, sometimes warning stays for multiple days. I don't know if the car is dangerous to drive or not with everything flashing and beeping.
Fuel injectors have failed on this car 2x before it has hit 120k miles. First was at 50k ish. Honda will not acknowledge this as an issue, even though it is an extremely common issue with all of the 1. 5l engines on civics, accords and their other cars in this engine type. My mechanic has checked the service records and the most common issue with these cars, and this is a super common issue, always requiring fuel injectors to repair it. Car idles very very badly when started, and should not be having all of these issues on a well-maintained 8 year old car. It causes a check engine light to appear and an “emissions system issue” warning to appear on the car. It’s only been 3/4 years with the 2nd set of injectors (which were replaced under my optional extended warranty on the car, purchased through Honda). But I was not warned that this was a common issue until going to an independent service technician when my check engine light came on. I.
I received a recall notice for this vehicle. When I called my nearest Honda, leadcar Honda, in yorkville, NY, they stated that they could not get my vehicle in for recall repairs until August of 2025. I called in March of 2025.
All the dashboard warning lights come on. They will turn off at short intervals, but then come back on. I took the car to the dealer in 2024 and they diagnosed it as rear tire sensor problem. Paid over $800 to have this replaced and all the dashboard warning lights came back on the next day. Went back to the dealer and they then diagnosed it as bad fuel injector and quoted repair at over $1,200. We did not have the injector replaced as they could not guarantee fixing the fuel injector would turn the lights off as this seems to be a common reported problem in 2017 Honda crvs. Over the past year the dashboard warning lights would come on and off at random intervals. Over the past two months, along with all warning lights remaining on, the car has now started to stall within the first 5 minutes of driving it. Due to the stalling, we took the car to an independent mechanic who followed the Honda service bulletin and did a full tune up on the car but all dashboard warning lights remain on and the car continues to stall at times.
Honda is not completing this recall in a reasonable manner, and despite claiming parts are available they are not. After two years of delays, and now threats that our registration will be not renewed if we do not perform the recall, Honda still does not have the parts. Furthermore, they want you to bring in the car, have it inspected, after which they will decide if they want to replace the part. The inspection is being done because the fuel pump may crack due to poor manufacturing practices; however, after an inspection they will not actually fix the defective part if they do not find a crack. This will surely result in failures later when the defective part eventually fails. In their process, some time after the inspection and after some time ordering it and receiving it, they will replace it, at their discretion. This is wholly absurd, and I encourage you to actually force Honda to perform this recall and replace these parts in a timely manner. Two years is more than enough time to produce 700,000 fuel pumps.
My 2019 Honda crv has been in and out of shops since April 1st. On April 1st lights popped on on my dashboard the lights were break system lights. All wheel drive system lights, and then the lane keep assist adaptive cruise ect were on and not operational. I looked up what could cause that to happen and it stated rear differential fluid could pop lights on. I took it to the dealership and stated it felt like it was running funny but the lights all went off before I got there but if they could do the rear diff fluid and run diagnostic just to be safe that'd be great. Diagnostic found nothing wrong g with my vehicle. A few days later the same lights came on and then multiple other lights came on, my boyfriend stated it could be electrical maybe spark plugs so we bought them and replaced them. Restarted the car and drove it they went off but then came back on next morning. Next solution was maybe my battery has gone bad. Bought a new battery in hopes it'd work and no luck. We pull out our code reader and it pulls a code for cam shaft position sensors so we purchase those and replace them and still no luck. I finally take it to a repair shop since there's nothing else we can do on our own to fix the issue and the repair shop has a hard time trying to diagnose the issue. They ran codes and tests trying to figure this out they checked the mechanical side of things since the dealership only checked electrical side of things and found that my car had debris in the oil. They began researching and finding the Hondas in my year and make and model with the 1. 5 turbo engines have a class action lawsuit due to oil dilution and after more digging they found that I did indeed suffer from this and would need an engine replacement due to the damage that has been done and that would be around 10k. Honda knowing sold me a vehicle that could have an issue like this. I bought the car used and kept up on all maintenance and now am having my car repossessed because I cant afford the repa.
The fuel injectors on my vehicle at 99000 seemed to turn all warning lights on my dashboard. There was no issues with my vehicle, I got an emissions test done, then 5 minutes later driving away all warning lights came on my dashboard. I brought to orielys autoparts and had the computer scanned, and it turned out the fuel was too rich in bank one. This is the second vehicle I had that had fo have fuel injectors replaced under 100k miles. My first was a Honda civic lx with 88k miles and now this one. The vehicle is currently at a shop about to be repaired. The danger is that all dashlights came on while driving. The vehicle was inspected at schaumburg Honda. My vehicle has recently had the fuel pump recall fix, and then it was installed incorrectly. I have read several Honda forums where the same thing is happening to other Honda owners at low mileage. Seems that this is pretty frequently happening.
The 1. 5l turbo engine in my 2018 Honda Cr-v is experiencing oil dilution. Raw fuel mixes with the engine oil, lowering flashpoint and thinning viscosity. This creates a fire risk, loss of lubrication, accelerated engine wear, and potential stalling. Honda issued tsbs, but the problem persists. This is a serious safety defect.
Fuel injector malfunction in 2017 Honda crv ex. Getting all the warning lights. Mostly it shows emission system problems.
While driving my 2020 Honda crv hybrid the check engine light came on and my speed reduced to 30mph on the highway. This first happened 5/31/2024 and I had it towed to Honda and Honda could not find the problem. I was told to bring it back in if it happened again. I asked Honda to report to their corporate representative because it was a dangerous issue, and was told we should not at this time. Then on 3/21/2025 less than a year later this occurred again and I bought it back to Honda and I am waiting for Honda to tell me what the issue is. This is a safety issue that has happened to other Honda hybrids not just to mine. Please help me on this matter they don’t seem to be able to know what the problem is and this is quite a safety concern.
-the fuel injection system failed on my brand new Honda crv and the engine light came on at around ~3,000 miles. Since the fuel injectors were replaced, the same problems and noises occur, but the Honda service repair cannot find a problem. The fuel injectors continue to fail, erratically using too much or too little gas during -trips with mpg well below the reported 38-40 mpg. - the car malfunctioned while I was out running errands. - the problem was confirmed by a dealer who replaced the fuel injectors, but the same problems persist and the dealer hasn't fixed it. - the manufacturer representative at Honda corporate office customer care refused to address concerns and it has not been inspected by anyone except a Honda dealer. -the engine warning light came on ~3,000 miles during the first fuel injection failure.
I started vehicle and all warning lights on dash popped up and began scrolling through/flashing. As a vehicle owner, I was startled as it was unsettling to see all the warnings pop up. It appeared every safety feature/component on the vehicle was compromised. I immediately contacted the local Honda dealership as they suggested diagnostics were needed. Dealership invoice states "diagnose check engine light - pull codes, diagnose to failure". Dealership invoice further states "tech verified concern. Tech scanned system for codes and found code p0301 stored for misfire cylinder. Tech ran air fuel test and failures came back on cylinders 1 and 3. Tech diagnosed to failing injectors, recommend replacing". After doing some research, it appears this particular vehicle has a history with similar problems. I have a product update letter from December 2018 which refers to the p0301 code. In addition, I have a warranty extension letter dated July 2019, which refers to the same issue and the p0301 code. The letter states that to ensure confidence in the product, the powertrain warranty was extended from the original 5 year/60,000 miles to 6 years with unlimited mileage from the original sale date. Unfortunately, my vehicle is a 2017, so although I qualify under the mileage I do not qualify under the 6 year time frame. The current mileage on my vehicle is 56,000 miles.
Engine rpm surged while nose- in parking with foot on brake, causing vehicle to unexpectedly jump the parking barrier and hit a steel sign post, incurring $3,300 cosmetic damage to left front of vehicle. Pressed harder on brake to stop. Cost estimate obtained, complaint filed with american Honda.
I applied my brake pedal to slow for traffic just before entering a roundabout. I came nearly to a full stop, but then with my foot still on the brake pedal, the car surged forward as if I had floored the gas pedal. I kept pressing very hard on the brake pedal, but the car kept speeding forward. I was able to steer in between 2 oncoming cars without hitting them. My left front tire then hit the curb and the car bounced off a metal traffic sign post. I then went down a steep dirt embankment and crashed into a swale with some large rocks. My car finally came to a stop, rim deep in soft dirt just off the shoulder of the road. I did not notice any warning lights come on. I don't know what system malfunctioned, but it had something to do with fuel delivery and possibly the cruise control and automatic braking functions. I was very lucky I was not injured. This malfunction could have caused a serious and possibly a fatal crash. This malfunction put me and nearby motorists at risk of being hit by an out of control vehicle. I checked the floor mat and it was not displaced. There were no loose objects that could have affected the gas or brake pedals. The police officer accused me of stepping on the gas instead of the brake, but that was definitely not the case, regardless of what he may write in his report. The car is currently at a local collision repair shop. They will be checking with the code reader to see if any codes come up involving the fuel and braking systems. My insurance adjuster has inspected the car through photos taken by the repair shop. The shop is currently taking the car apart to assess further damage underneath. I am expecting a progress report tomorrow or Tuesday, March 25. This malfunction exactly fits the description of "sudden unexpected acceleration". I have found 62 similar cases after a cursory internet search, so this is nothing new.
Fuel pump issue, my model and year is in recall batch for this issue, but my VIN is not being recalled.

Failed fuel injectors. This is a common issue in many 2017-18 crvs with numerous complaints. This is a safety risk as it has caused a forced shutdown of numerous safety features including: all anti-collision systems, lane departure sensing, traction control, etc the problem has been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? yes were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no.
It happened twice so far, while driving on the highway, suddenly the car would no longer respond to the accelerator pedal and the car started losing speed meanwhile the warning lights flashes on the dashboard. , in a panic we had to cruise to park on the highways shoulder. Shut the car off thinking the car may have overheated or something, then restarted the engine and the dashboard was very normal, we proceeded to drive cautiously to mechanic, the mechanic found no error code to lead him to any diagnoses. The car drives normally after each incident. We are very concerned that this event could happen in critical situation and cause accident or the faulty component may causing this issue may lead to other more serious power train trouble that will not be covered by warranty in the future. By searching online, we found too many owners have had the same experience but we solution was offered by Honda. We urge you to investigate and help owners to be safe on the roads.

Good afternoon, my 2019 Honda Cr-v suddenly displayed all warnings on the dashboard while operating the vehicle. The warnings remained but would sometimes disappear. However, while driving the vehicle on [xxx], the vehicle suddenly decelerated and was unable to accelerate while driving in traffic. Given any other situation or position of my car on the road, an accident would have occurred. On March 12, 2025, my 2019 Honda Cr-v was repaired by pearson Honda. Pearson Honda determined that the 2019 Honda Cr-v had fault fuel injectors, and the fuel injectors were placed. The 2019 Honda Cr-v had 66,888 miles at the time of service. As you're likely aware, recalls have been issued on various other Honda models relating to issues with the fuel injectors. Additionally, there is an abundance of online forum posts highlighting the issue and likely other NHTSA stating the same: - [xxx] (user aly1337 noting that fuel injectors in their 2017 Honda Cr-v went bad at around 68,000 miles) - [xxx] (various users noting that their Honda Cr-vs of varying years have had fuel injector issues) please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you! [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
