On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading n on rt 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda Cr-v touring sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the r lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time police, followed by the fire dept, the front of my Cr-v was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 touring sport from carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. My insurance and Honda were notified and claim and case #s were filed. Insurance offered a settlement but no word yet from Honda. Inspections were performed by both. Insurance inspectors report it as potential mechanical failure. Honda should offer reparations for the loss of my vehicle and placing our lives and those around us in danger.

I was sitting in the car with the car cranked on and then all my warnings lights and messages started flashing and blinking. The car was also idling on it’s on. I was scared because this has never happened before. So after looking for leaks under the hood , looking online to make sense of what was happening, turning it off and back on . I slowly drove to the Honda dealer down the street with my hazards lights on. Also due to it acting as if it wasn’t about to restart when I turned it off, and the car seemed like it wanted to cut off in traffic, this just happened on Saturday 3/14. It was the only incident of this kind, and the following Monday I got a call it was my fuel pump or fuel injection, and I was told gas was in my oil . I don’t know how or why this happened. I believe my car got missed in the recall for the issues the model has. I have done research and it has displayed a few of the issues stated online. I do know I have had other issues with my car screen going completely black in the car and my car throwing on brakes and nothing was there. Just wanted you all to be aware of this since I read this make and model have these issues.

The vehicle displays inaccurate fuel level and miles-to-empty information, creating a safety risk because the driver cannot reliably determine how much fuel is actually available or how far the vehicle can be driven. The infotainment system also freezes and carplay frequently becomes unusable. There was also a key recognition / “key not detected” malfunction. These issues have occurred in a new vehicle and remain unresolved after multiple dealer visits.
After the low-pressure fuel pump recall repair was performed on my 2018 Honda Cr-v at doggett Honda med center on March 6, 2026, the vehicle began experiencing a serious and repeated loss-of-power condition. The vehicle suddenly loses power without warning. This happens with no clear pattern, at highway speeds and also at low speeds. The engine does not shut off, but the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate normally. In some situations, it does not have enough power to safely reach the shoulder, leaving me exposed in traffic. This has now happened multiple times and has become more frequent. I have already narrowly avoided at least three serious rear-end collisions while trying to move the vehicle out of traffic. Yesterday, the vehicle lost power again and a police unit had to escort me so I could safely move the vehicle to the side. When I turn the vehicle off and restart it, it temporarily returns to normal, but the problem keeps coming back. This makes the vehicle unsafe and unreliable for normal use. The vehicle is my work vehicle, and I depend on it for transportation. I am now unable to work normally or travel safely because I do not know when the vehicle will suddenly lose power again. This condition places my life and the lives of my passengers at risk. I contacted both the dealership and american Honda corporate. However, my safety concern has been minimized, and I was told that I would have to pay for diagnosis, even though this problem began after Honda performed recall work on the fuel system. I am reporting this because this is a serious safety issue. A vehicle that suddenly loses power in traffic, without warning, creates a real risk of collision, injury, or death. Honda should properly investigate whether the recall repair, fuel pump system, connectors, wiring, or related fuel delivery components caused or contributed to this dangerous condition.

Enter the parking spot and vehicle accelerated, hitting a building and a tree.
While driving, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard and the vehicle immediately began running sluggish with significantly reduced engine power. The vehicle was unable to maintain normal driving speed and was operating below the posted speed limit, creating a potential traffic hazard and increasing the risk of a rear-end collision from faster-moving vehicles. I was able to carefully drive the vehicle home, but the condition persisted. After arriving home, the vehicle required multiple attempts to start, indicating an ongoing issue. I scanned the vehicle using an obd diagnostic tool and retrieved diagnostic trouble code p0087 (fuel rail/system pressure too low), indicating a malfunction in the fuel delivery or fuel pressure system, which may involve the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, or related components. There were no prior warning signs before this incident; the warnings and loss of performance occurred suddenly while the vehicle was being driven under normal conditions. The sudden reduction in engine power created a safety concern due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer, police, insurance representatives, or other third parties, but the vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request.
The low pressure fuel pump cannabilized itself and sent debris down the fuel line to the high pressure fuel pump which damaged it. I brought the vehicle to meineke of warner robins and they confirmed the issue with other Honda dealerships in the middle georgia area. Even though there is a safety recall (21v-215) for the model year of my vehicle, my VIN doesn't populate as one of the batches being affected by the recall. To be clear, the issue does match the recall notice description but is not reported as one of the affected vins.

My 2025 Honda crv hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was not pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda dealer service department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. The Honda service rep said sense I have no idea when it is going to happen again he cannot set a appointment for me to come in without having a current issue. Because the acceleration is random and because I cannot recreate it at will, the problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center and the vehicle has not been inspected. The acceleration issue is random and spontaneous with no warning lamps, no messages and no other symptoms prior to. Once it stops it may no happen again for weeks or months. However as mentioned about it has happened at least 4 to 5 times within the past year with the most recent occurrence on March 6th 2026 ----end-----.
Head gasket failure diagnosed by wittmeier Honda in February of 2026 chico CA. Car was initially throwing misfire codes, battery, fuel pump, then fuel injectors were replaced. Took it back to the dealer because car would sputter, dash is blacking out and I'm unable to indicate the speed at which I'm traveling, white smoke from exhaust, misfire, poor gas mileage, car nearly stalling in intersection. Car has been having this issue or possibly other issues contributing to this for nearly 25-30k miles. It is important to note that fuel pump was recalled in this model, car performance has significantly declined over the last 25k miles. This car is well maintained as in; regular oil, changes, transmission flushes, rear differential fluid change, tire rotation every 5-7k miles, brakes and rotors changed nearly every 30k front and back, fixing all issues as they arise. I say all of this so that there is a clear picture of the car maintenance and the issues it is having despite the proper care. This car has had several issues from about 150k miles. In my opinion this is premature for a car this well maintained. Though this car has had several issues over that past year I will put the most pressing and scariest date, the time it almost stalled in an intersection.
I went out to the garage for something and heard what sounded like the fuel pump running. I know there was a recall with the fuel pump relay/module and I'm concerned it was either not repaired correctly or there is still an issue.
Driving at highway speeds in passing lane. Car lost power immediately and all dash lights came on. Very dangerous and almost got hit trying to pull over. Dealer diagnosed high pressure fuel rail pump. Honda dealer charging $1800 to replace high pressure fuel pump.
Failed head gasket in the engin affected fuel injectors and spark plugs to fail or not perform normally and started misfiring in the engin. My 24 year old son drives this car and the problem happened at night when he was driving home at night on 3/4/2026 flashing all waring signs on the screen. The car's speed was abruptly reduced to very low and he was not able to drive the car . I put the car to repair shop and replaced the fuel injecton kit and spark plugs and paid $1650 for that and the problem happed again with same kind of signs and drop the car to dealership for detailed diagnostic analysis and they came with the conclusion that the engin has a failed head gasket which causes the engin coolent to enter into cumbustion chamber and mix with the oil/gas affecting fuel injectors and spark plugs. Upon extensive search on internet and social media , it has been found that there are hundreds of victims who own the same year vehicle & model ( or same engine types ) and faced same issues and paid too much money to repair even though the Honda is aware of the issue and not taking care of it. Honda is playing with american people's life when they know the issue very well and haven't done anything yet to recall the vehicles to resolve this issue . This need to be investigated thoroughly to save life of innocent people.
We are experiencing fule injector issues which causes all the systems to switch off, and has caused issues with the car starting, battery draining and issues in getting the car to accelerate. This car has only 110000 miles and should not be having issues this early.

Fuel injector was replaced part number 06160-5pa-305. It is available to be inspected and I have the failed parts in my possession. This was inspected and identified by an independent service center. Power steering system problem light on main dash alerting with break system alert. The car had been driven immediately prior with no warning signs and no alert lights on the dash and almost a full tank of fuel. Vehicle was parked and running when alerts appeared. Even though the car was in park it rolled forward when foot was taken off the brake and required the emergency break to be used. This put my safety at risk because had this happened 2 minutes prior I would have been driving in a school zone where there was heavy traffic and steering and braking are essential. I plan to take the car to the Honda dealership to have the work inspected. The vehicle has 68,001 miles on it at the time of the issue.
New vehicle with 299 miles, use remote start and heard loud vibration, ticking noise coming from vehicle. Upon entering vehicle ( check engine light ) emissions system problems. Power may be reduced. See your dealer.
My 2018 Honda Cr-v (1. 5l turbo) has a confirmed fuel leak dripping directly onto the starter motor, creating an immediate fire hazard. A Honda dealer (inv #1273851) diagnosed codes p219c and p219d, which are explicitly covered under Honda service bulletin 20-038 for a 150,000-mile warranty extension. Despite the vehicle having 131,528 miles, Honda corporate is refusing to honor the warranty extension, claiming my VIN is not affected, while ignoring the documented failure and the dangerous safety risk.
While highway driving around 60 mph, speed will decrease down to 30. Happened 4 times in the last 3 months. Need to pull over shoulder and shut off the vehicle to reset.

I was pumping gas and during gas started pouring out by the rear tire flap. It was not a whole tank but a large amount. And the next day also noticed a puddle where gas tank lies. This has happened in the past but sporadically and not all of the gas comes out. Also, there is a safety recall on rear fuel feed pipe leaks and fuel pump motor but supposedly not on this particular vehicle year/VIN.
2017 Honda crv touring with VIN [xxx] . My son and daughter drove the car and all of a sudden all the lights started going off( it looks like christmas lights). We got it scanned multiple times from different places where they have the scanner. It was showing p0304 misfire #4 cylinder and u0401-68 ecm failure. We took it to the dealer and they found out the same code fuel injector needs to be replaced. I am single mom and didn't have the money to get it fix. Our car only had less than 21k. I stayed up to do more research online. Found out more about this common issues with same model. I contacted another dealer, explained my situation and he advised me to call Honda corp to be added to the recall and mention goodwill. I immediately called the corporate but had to wait for their case mgr to get back with us. I asked my daughter to call the dealer where we got our car diagnosed, to ask svc advisor if it is safe to use the car and we were advised that it's ok to use. However my daughter was driving the car and all of a sudden it wasn't accelerating and only going around 5 miles per hour. She had to go back home and missed her classes. She was scared and I could just imagine how scary that was. How about if this happened when she was in the freeway? this could have caused a major accident. I don't understand why Honda only issued the recall to some cars with same model as ours if they already have lots of customers having same issue. I even read this issue was featured on abc news. Honda did offer to help with lowering the fuel injector but I still have to pay $899. 19 and around $204 for diagnosis. The svc advisor said they've been having a lot of same model cars coming in for fuel injector problems. I am reaching out hoping you can help direct us in getting the full reimbursement and hoping our car can be added to the recall so we can get reimburse. Honda should be fully liable for this due to known issue. Date below was one incident. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act.
While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2018 Honda Cr-v suddenly lost engine power and rapidly decelerated. At the same time the check engine light began flashing and multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the abs warning light. I was unable to accelerate and the vehicle would not restart after the loss of power. I attempted to guide the vehicle toward the shoulder for safety, but the vehicle was rear-ended shortly after the power loss occurred. The vehicle has since been declared a total loss by my insurance company. Approximately two weeks prior to the incident I experienced intermittent engine sputtering while driving. No repairs had yet been performed at that time. After the accident I discovered that my vehicle VIN is associated with an open fuel pump motor safety recall (exp2) that had not been remedied prior to the incident. The suspected component involved is the fuel/propulsion system related to the fuel pump recall, although this has not yet been confirmed by inspection. The vehicle is currently in the possession of my insurance carrier and may be available for inspection upon request depending on the insurance process. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance representatives following the accident. The sudden loss of power at highway speed created a significant safety risk because the vehicle could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic and could not be restarted.
"while driving my 2018 Honda Cr-v (mileage: 58,800), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/stalling due to a fuel injector failure. This failure caused the vehicle to enter 'limp mode' on a high-speed roadway, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could not maintain flow-of-traffic speeds. My wife and I was just getting on the highway when this occurred. Research indicates this is a recurring manufacturing defect in the 1. 5l turbo engine (referenced in Honda TSB #22-002 and similar internal communications). This is a critical safety issue as the fuel system failure is unpredictable and occurs without prior warning, leaving the driver stranded in dangerous traffic conditions. Honda has not yet issued a safety recall for this VIN despite the widespread nature of the injector defects. ".
When pulling slowly into a parking spot, engaged the brake and the vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing a collision into a brick pillar. Injury to driver occurred.

Problem with emissions system on my 2019 Honda crv. Car was diagnosed and recommended to replace fuel injectors. This is a pervasive problem with Honda vehicles with a previous recall for odyssey, pilot and ridgeline. Honda needs to recall any of their vehicles with this problem and fix it. In addition pervasive issues with their infotainment system which includes navigation. I have had the system go out when using the navigation option while in heavy traffic. Again both of these problems are well documented online with other owners but nothing being done by Honda to remedy either situation.
Vehicle cycled through all of the warnings on the dashboard and lost power when trying to accelerate and engine light came on. Stalled on the side of the highway and had to be towed. Mechanic said the code for the issue was the catalytic converter and O2 sensor.
The vehicle began experiencing repeated engine misfires, hesitation, and loss of power during normal driving. The issue was diagnosed as failing fuel injectors, which is a known issue on this generation of Honda Cr-v. The failure causes sudden hesitation and reduced engine power, particularly during acceleration and at intersections, creating a safety hazard in traffic. In some instances there was a strong fuel odor, raising concern for a potential fuel leak and fire risk. The injectors failed well before normal service life and required replacement. Honda has not issued a recall for many affected vehicles despite widespread reports of similar failures across multiple model years. This defect presents a safety risk due to possible engine stalling, loss of power, and potential fuel leakage.
When driving on the interstate, the car speed went from 75 mph to 10-20 mph over 20 miles. The engine light came on, and the car would not go any faster than 10-20 mph. It was extremely nerve racking trying to get off the interstate and attempt to limp in to topeka KS. It was very cold that day as well.
Vehicle was purchased new on 5/17/2024. On January 16, 2026 the vehicle was brought into a Honda dealership because of 2 lingering issues. 1) it had low power while driving uphill on the freeway. When driving the vehicle from the bay area to reno, the vehicle was unable to keep up with the flow of traffic travelling at the speed limit. Vehicles behind us were agitated. We did not know if this was normal or not and we wanted to have the car checked out. 2) the engine sounded different after the trip to reno. Youtube videos, including some by Honda dealers had advised that the crv hybrid made noises which were considered normal. We wanted to know if the noise that we we're hearing was normal. The vehicle was in the shop for 26 days. The dealer confirmed the low power but had difficulty diagnosing the engine noise, except that it was not normal. The dealer brought in resources from Honda techline on multiple occasions to assist in diagnosis. During the course of the 26 days in the shop, the dealer ultimately found it necessary to rebuild the entire engine, including replacing the block, cylinder heads, lifters, fuel injector, etc. . . . We feel fortunate that we did not experience the more extreme loss of power and limp home mode that has been reported. We are very concerned about the future reliability of the vehicle. From the research that we have done, it appears that the primary cause of many of the engine failures experienced by this year/model are due to failure of the fuel injector system. What is really odd, is that the fuel injector system on our vehicle was inspected by the dealer on February 22, 2025, I. E. , a year before we brought the vehicle in for the current issues.
The same issue has happened twice. I'm driving on the highway, going maybe 60 or 65, and with no warning, the check engine light starts flashing and the car won't respond to the gas pedal. The car immediately starts to rapidly decelerate, and I can only try to get to the breakdown lane before I get rear-ended. I've been lucky (especially since my child was in the backseat both times). But when I stop the car, turn it off, then turn it on again, everything is fine. I can get back on the highway, and no problems occur. The codes are not stored, however, so I can't know what caused the problem. When this happened the first time (last year), I took it to the Honda dealer where I bought it, and they said they had never heard of this happening. When it happened the second time in January, I called Honda, spoke to an agent who gave me a case number (xxx), and said she has heard of something like this from other drivers, but the solutions were all different, so she couldn't say what would fix it for me. I did some internet research, and found other drivers who describe the exact same issue: [xxx] I've switched to premium gasoline ($$) and won't let it get lower than 1/4 full, and have an obdii scanner in my glove compartment ready to go if it happens again. That said, this is a very dangerous defect, and I feel unsafe in my car. I am disturbed that a problem of with such potentially serious consequences has no solution that anyone can offer me. (note: when I go to submit this, the final form leaves off the last # of the VIN. I tried to correct, but it happened again. The VIN is [xxx] , 2020 Honda crv hybrid. Best VIN ever. ) information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My daughter left her house to go to an appointment in statesboro, an hour away. When she proceeded onto hwy 196, the dashboard lit up with: check engine light, tmps light, traction control light, power steering control light. The speed limit on this road is 40mph she was unable to accelerate over 20 mph. She immediately took it to an orielly auto parts store on hwy 196 to have them to diagnose the check engine light. The veri scan presented a code p0087 indicates that the fuelrail/ system pressure was too low for a predetermined period of time. The most likely solution stated to replace high pressure fuel pump. This is the first time this has occurred. This is the same issue that a recalled was done in 2023 on the 2013-2016 crv, but my VIN was not part of that recalled. I called my local Honda dealer to verify if my vehicle was part of the recalled and was told it wasn't. I hope we can get this resolved before someone gets hurt or my family get in an accident. Mr [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The fuel injector valves started leaking resulting in a p0172 rich fuel mixture diagnostic code. When fuel injector valves leak gasoline into the engine oil it can cause an engine fire, severe damage to the engine and catalytic converter. My daughter was driving the car when this happened which makes me very upset that a known safety issue has not been addresses by the NHTSA or Honda. This effects millions of crvs which is why Honda is fighting a recall and why the NHTSA must step in and fine Honda and force a recall. The potential for engines catching on fire should result in an immediate recall. When I talked to the Honda shop manager he told me that he is seeing several crvs every week with faulty fuel injectors and quite frequently bad catalytic converters. This is a well-documented problem which makes me wonder why nothing has been done.
All fuel injectors need replaced due to a known Honda Cr-v issue. Error code went off. Mechanic did a test and said there is a known issue with Honda having fuel injector issues and it's all over the internet. I take care of my car. These should be on recall.
Steering pulls and clicks at highway speeds. Engine misfire due to faulty fuel injection issues.
Recently, all of the warning lights on the car went off all at once and wouldn’t turn off even if I turn the car off/on. There was no issue leading up to this but after taking it into Honda and getting a second opinion, it is due to faulty fuel injectors and the repair total will be $1,800. The repairs are necessary because of safety issues associated with the fuel injectors. Other Honda vehicles with the same injectors have an extended warranty (150,000 miles) but Honda crv’s do not. I read 100+ reviews other users having the same issue. I’d like Honda to step in and at least give an extended warranty.
The fuel system is leaking from the top of the tank. Same problem that is happening to already recalled vehicles.
Shortly after parking car in garage and with garage door left open for ~ five minutes before closing, a strong fuel smell filled garage [where there are no other fuel sources]. Thoroughly inspected floor, on hands and knees, under car and there was no liquid on the floor. Toxic fuel smell unsafe for humans. Dealer could not duplicate issue yet said fuel mix ratio was out of specification yet just short of the tolerance to illuminate engine service light. No other inspections have been made. Many online forums show 2019 Cr-v owners with same symptoms and that Honda is investigating.
