36 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/24/2014

Driver's door will not lock by any method or configuration. Cannot lock it manually from inside the car, or from the outside with the electronic key fob or physically with the key. When driving the car attempts to lock all the doors automatically after the car exceeds 15 kph - all the doors lock except for the driver's door which immediately moves back to the unlocked position. Cannot lock the driver's door manually or by pressing the lock button in the arm rest either while parked or while driving. This is a significant safety issue, as well as a security issue - car alarm cannot be set since the driver's door won't lock.

37 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/19/2014

After the doors automatically lock, the passenger door automatically unlocks by itself and cannot be locked manually.

38 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/10/2014

The driver side power locks are locking all doors automatically and immediately after I unlock it via the key fob or the unlock/lock switch inside the vehicle. It can not be unlocked manually because it is very resistant to moving. I have been told this is an actuator failure and is common in 2007 Honda crv.

39 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/05/2014

The rear passenger door automatically unlocks after main lock button is pushed on interior of driver's door as well as on the key fob. All other locks can easily lock/unlock manually except this door. It seems to be stuck until the button on driver's side door is pushed to lock. But almost instantly, it will unlock again. Anytime the car is driven past 9mph, the car keeps trying to lock all the doors making an annoying noise.

40 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/25/2014

Drivers side door lock issues - unable to lock the drivers side door using all available methods, I. E. Electric door lock, inside manual door lock or outside key lock. Significantly, when door lock issues occur it poses a safety risk to the operator and passengers in the vehicle since the door locking and unlocking features fail to operate correctly. In my particular case the door did not lock at any time, whether the vehicle is turned on or off.

41 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/15/2014

Both rear doors stopped responding to the main lock at the drivers side from inside. They can only be unlocked manually from the inside of the car. The interior driver door lock when moved up or down manually only works on front two doors. Sometimes the key is sticking and not turning in the driver side door lock. Must try multiple times to finally get it to work. It's only a matter of time before the front door malfunctions as well.

42 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/14/2014

My 2007 Honda Cr-v, passenger door locks itself immediately after unlock by the main lock/unlock switch, key fob or the manual tab in the door. We have to be very precise in unlocking and pulling the door at the same time. Even a second delay could bring the boor back in to unlock position. This can be very dangerous in case of fire or accident as the passenger can not unlock and escape from the vehicle. Please look in to it. Thanks.

43 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/09/2014

The front passenger door lock began opening when the car was operating. As I understand it, the proper operation of the the car's crash safety equipment requires the doors to remain locked during operation. Further, it is impossible to lock this door, even manually. I also discovered that the car cannot be locked when stopped. I have not yet taken the car to the dealer for repairs.

44 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

Door locks automatically lock all four doors. As soon as you unlock them, they lock again. You can not use the manual unlock because it seems frozen and can only unlock the car using the key fob and then they lock again right away. This is a serious hazard for obvious reasons and Honda needs to take responsibility for this and make it part of a national recall. Online forums are loaded with Honda owners experiencing the same and/or similar problems. A class action suit was filed early 2013 regarding this specific issue. Results, if any, are not known.

45 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/25/2014

The locks on my Cr-v do not function properly. If I unlock the doors, either from the car door or remotely, they instantly relock. This happens when the car is on or off, even in drive. The driver's side door cannot be unlocked manually. I see this is a huge problem with this car. Extremely frustrating--and expensive to repair! it is also dangerous, and makes me nervous to travel with my children because I don't trust the lock system.

46 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/24/2014

Since you don't have the right choice to choose from. . . . Our crv . . . Grandson closed the drivers door with the keys in car and it locked. . Tried to unlock door with spare keys and it wouldn't work. . Not manually or with the push buttons on keys. . . . Dropped my granddaughter off for swim class and unlocked the door with button inside car and it locked again before I could open door. . Tried numerous times and car would not stay unlocked. . Finally, had to use one hand to unlock door and the other hand on handle to open it before it locked again. . . If we were in an accident, how would I be able to get myself and or grandkids out of the car fast enough to save them????? Honda, I found out has known about this since 2007 and continues to look the other way. . . Something needs to be done before someone gets killed. . . Not like what gm did. . . Lets get this fixed and right before something bad happens to americans !!!!!!.

47 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/16/2014

Door locks remain unlocked or locked. In once case rear right door does not lock whether you do it manually or automatically. This is leaving children exposed to unsafe condition where the door may open while car is in motion if they played with the door handle. A week later, front right door does not unlock at all whether you do it manually or automatically. In an unfortunate situation, one cannot unlock the door to escape the vehicle in an unfortunate situation. To me both of these are serious safety concerns. I am going to the dealer to have it take a look, but Honda needs to address the issue by recalling the door locking mechanism.

48 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/28/2014

Locks started locking within a second of being unlocked. So I could unlock the doors with the key button and pull quickly to open the door to get in. The locks would engage as soon as I got in. However, if I tried to manually unlock the door from inside, I would have to use two hands, and it was difficult. Once the doors closed the locks would immediately engage. As it turns out I locked my purse and keys inside. My spare key would not open it. There was no manual override! this is my concern. In case of an accident or a child inside, there was no way to open, not even with a key. Had the car towed to the dealer and it has been fixed, an actuator (?).

49 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2011 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/12/2014

Within the last month, my 2011 crv has had a recurring issue with the door lock. When I hit the unlock button, the driver's door remains locked and will only turn manually. Likewise, it will only lock manually. The other day I couldn't open my trunk because of the locking issue. Because of the unlocking, the sensors affected my dome light and my battery died after 3 years. I have read that this is a common problem, but no recalls yet. It doesn't make sense.

50 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/03/2014

Both passenger rear doors stopped responding to the keyless remote. They can only be unlocked manually from the inside of the car. Driver door stopped responding shortly there after. Have to manually unlock/lock the door with the key. The interior driver door lock can not be moved up or down manually. Only the key can move the door lock. Now the key is sticking and not turning in the driver side door lock. Must try multiple times to finally get it to work. 3 out of 4 door locks are faulty and do not work properly. It's only a matter of time before the front passenger door malfunctions as well.

51 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/25/2013

Within a month of my purchase of new crv 2014 exl, the tpms light turned on(near christmas time). I got it checked from the Honda service center, and they at first reset the tpms light manually, and asked me to come back if tpms light turns on. Which it did after just 45 miles. Then they confirmed Honda would be issuing a software patch for this fix. I rechecked in January but still there was no patch issued. I went to another Honda service center, thinking it might be a service center issue and there too they told me the same thing, that Honda is going to issue a patch. In February when I went for my first servicing they told me the same thing. I checked back again yesterday, but still with no luck. Is anyone even working on. Its nearly 5 months since I first reported this, but it has gone to deaf ears. It is a safety hazard, not knowing whether the light is on due to a bug or really tire pressure is low. Every time I ask a service center representative they would ask whether I was driving bad or putting them in curb or not, instead of even knowing the problem exist. They will ask me to come there at the service center, investigate, reset it manually, and tell me the same thing Honda is going to release a fix for this issue. This is a total waste of time. One thing is for sure this would be my first and last Honda.

52 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/30/2013

I purchased brand new Honda Cr-v 2014 in oct 2013 and with in two weeks I see a tpms light on and I took it to the dealer, asked them car was not even a month old and mileage was around 450 and I got my tpms light on. They said some tire pressure is low and not correct and manually set the tpms light and after a week's time I got the light again -took it to the dealer and they said the same thing and manually reset the tpms and cycle started again - after a week I got that light once more and until now it's been 8 times I have been to dealer and he don't have a genuine reason and keeps telling this is common for all 2014 Cr-v's. I am in dilemma now what should I do with this car.

53 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/27/2013

Unable to unlock the driver door after parking car. Tried using unlock button on door panel, unlock button on key and tried manually using key in driver door lock. Unable to open driver side door at all. Climbed over to passenger side to exit car. Unable to open tailgate automatically or manually as well.

54 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2014 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/04/2013

The day after purchase, the tpms (tire pressure monitoring system) warning light came on indicating a low tire pressure condition. I checked the tire pressure, and recalibrated the system per the owners manual (tire pressure was high from the dealer (@37psi), and was reset to the 30psi factory spec). The light activated again within several days. I took the vehicle to the dealer, and they basically did the same - tire pressure check and system calibration. We have had this issue now for 6 months. After each system calibration and reset, the light will again activate anywhere from 1 day to approximately 10 days - each time the tire pressure has been within the factory specification. The vehicle has been to the dealer about six times for this issue, with no fix. (we were told Honda will have a fix by February, 2014). . The (dealer) service advisor manager can't give us any definitive answer on the problem, or solving the problem. My understanding is the low tire pressure monitoring system is a safety mandated feature, and this is an issue with most 2014 Honda Cr-v's.

55 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The door locks failed to lock unless a key was used which would only work on the front doors. The key would no longer unlock the doors unless it was manually. The rear back door would not lock under any circumstances. This jeopardized the safety of my car, and myself. I went to apple tree Honda where I purchased the car. They did not let me know that this had been a recurrent problem on other cars. They charged me $587. 50 to replace all the locks.

56 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/01/2013

I have been having issues with the locks on my 2008 Honda crv. It started on the passenger side of my car. It initially would not stay locked. I contacted the dealer and they advised no recalls. After about 6 months it started working again. Then about another 6 months it quit again. (weather related?). Now that lock stays locked all the time. We are not able to unlock it. . . Not even manually. About a year later the rear passenger lock wasn't locking correctly. I contacted the dealer again and they couldn't help me. Now the rear drivers side lock does not work properly. It sounds like a machine gun going off everytime the car hits the 10 mph. I have contacted the dealer and advised no recalls. I was quoted $800. 00 to have them repaired. (lock actuators?) I cant believe this is happening only to my car. By the locks not working is a safety issue for myself and kids. I have teenage daughters and a granddaughter. It they encounter any danger and are not able to lock or unlock the doors is a major safety issue. Now my granddaughter wont ride in the car because it sounds like a machine gun. I have not had any issues with the driver side lock. I can't really submit any pictures because they will not show the issues. I bought this car brand new and know the history. This is my 2nd Honda crv and I loved them until now. I cant believe I am the only one having this issue.

57 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/13/2013

The power door lock on the front passenger door will not stay locked. As soon as you lock it manually or with the key fob, it will slowly unlock itself. This occurs if the car is parked or in motion. It will lock itself if the auto accelerates over 10mph, but then will again slowly unlock seconds later and will stay in the unlock position. This in turn defeats the security system, making it ineffective, allowing the passenger door to be opened without setting off the alarm. I attempted to reset the locking mechanism as stated in the owner's manual but it does not fix the issue.

58 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/12/2013

Door lock problem: driver's side rear door intermittently does not lock. This occurs when key fob is used, when power door lock button is used, and when door is locked manually. Additionally, while driving, intermittently the door locks and unlocks within seconds of itself. Honda dealer replaced actuator as a non-warranty repair.

59 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

Front driver door is locked and can't open from inside using remote or manually. Climbed over to the passenger door and tried to open the driver door from outside also unable to do so. I brought the car the the dealer who informed me that this was caused by a faulty door lock actuator defect. The defect poses a safety risk since the door locking and unlocking features fail to operate correctly. Upon research on the internet, many crv owners experience the same problem for crv 2007-2010. Honda is aware of this problem and have neither recall or cover it under warranty.

60 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

Rear passenger door-lock does not stay locked. It gradually begins to unlock even though it's locked by remote or manually. This presents a safety issue as the door will automatically remain open even though it should be locked. It presents a safety issue as the vehicle remains open even during the night.

61 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/25/2013

Last week while in atlanta, GA my Honda crv 2008 doors started locking with in seconds of me hitting the unlock button. Making it very hard to get in the car. The car was on in park and door accidentally closed and locked automatically with noticing locking my dog in the car with no air. I do not have the spare key. Thankfully after calling 911 the fire department was able to get the car unlocked my getting the window to roll down. The temperature outside was approx 86 degrees and who knows how hot in the car. Fortunately, they came with in 30 min of this happening. The dog was scared after this incident and reluctant to be in the car. The car normally automatically locks once the car is in reverse. The car has continued to have this issue over the weekend. I am also unable to unlock the car manually with just the key. This issue concerns me very much as I travel with my dog around town and have only the one key.

62 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/06/2013

The crv locks the doors and tailgate automatically when the vehicle reaches a certain speed. Our crv locked itself according to this protocol. We then parked the car, turned off the ignition and tried to exit the car. The front passenger door would not unlock, and there was no way to manually override this problem. We exited via the driver's side and then discovered that the tailgate was also jammed in the locked position. We have taken the car to the dealer who sold it, and he has told us that there is no way to override the locking mechanism once it has jammed in the locked position. Repair will cost hundreds of dollars because the passenger front door has to be dis-assembled from the inside. The absence of a manual override is a serious safety issue. We could have been locked in the car with no way to get out!! thankfully only two of the five locks failed!!!!.

63 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

While driving my car, I noticed that the door locks started unlocking on and off with every acceleration increase of 10-15 mph (major safety issue for occupants). In addition, the passenger side door will not lock with the electronic key or by manual push. Worse, the door lock problem led to my car being vulnerable to unlawful entry, and sure enough, my car was ransacked (items stolen) this week after I thought all my "dependable Honda" doors were locked. After researching, I am disgusted to see that many Honda Cr-v (2007 model) drivers are experiencing exact or similar problems with the doors (un)locking. It is unbelievable that this safety issue hasn't been recalled yet. Very unhappy!!!.

64 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/25/2013

My passenger side door lock will not stay open when I use remote or keyless entry or unlock it manual on drivers door. . . . My step son had an emergency in may where he couldn't get in or out of the vehicle. I think this should be a recall. Parts are defective and many folks are complaining of the same problems on their Honda crv vehicle. This is unsafe. When I leave and lock vehicle , the passengers side lock sticks and stays open sometimes to. If someone were to break in my car and check that door all my belonging would be gone.

65 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

Driver side door getting locked and unlocked automatically, after few days I noticed the same problem with the passenger door as well. Both door locks making noise and unlock and lock automatically. If I lock driver side door, passenger door gets unlocked. Not responding to remote fob. Now, I am managing the locks by manually locking driver side door. Spoke to Honda dealer and they said it is a problem with both actuator in both doors and it would cost me 270 + 250 (520 dollars). Part is actually 70 dollar but labor is 200 dollar for driver side door and 180 dollar for passenger side door. I see similar complaints in the web for 2007 and 2008 Honda Cr-vs . It is something manufacturing defect with these models. I am feeling unsafe everyday I drive. I might have to spend 500 bucks to fix this issue. The fact that worrying me more is, many vehicle owners complained that problem will be repeated after sometime and again I have to spend 500 dollars.

66 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

In April of this year (2013), the 2008 Honda crv-ex that I purchase certified, pre-owned in October 2012, began having problems with the door locks. As I was driving, the locks would automatically unlock and lock themselves every time I came to a stop and started driving again. The problem stopped after a few days, then a few weeks later, started occurring again. Before I called to have it checked, it stopped, but then I would hear a squealing sound immediately after the doors were locked upon acceleration. All of these issues stopped, but then about a week ago (July 2013), both doors on the passenger side started relocking themselves within 3 seconds of being unlocked by either the key fob or from the driver side door. They cannot be locked or unlocked manually, even with auto lock off. They also cannot be opened from the inside by the passenger. This is a serious safety issue for my child, who would not be able to open his door and exit immediately in the case of an emergency. In addition to this problem, the tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) light is on permanently on my dashboard. According to the dealer technician I spoke with, this means the tpms has stopped communicating with the sensors on at least one of my tires. This is a hazard in that I could have dangerously low tire pressure and would not know it, which could lead to a blow out at high freeway speeds. This same technician reported he has seen "quite a few" 2007 and 2008 crvs coming in with this issue. I can work around this issue by frequently checking tire pressure myself, but it remains that I should not have to do this, when I paid for a vehicle that should be doing it for me.

67 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/24/2013

Right rear door and hatch would not unlock either manually or through the power locking system. Dealer determined that this was the result of faulty actuators and forced me to pay over $600 to have them replaced. This is a known error as there are other reported cases of this happening. It was also a safety issue as passengers could have been trapped in the car.

68 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/15/2013

Passenger door locks within seconds of opening manually and with key fob.

69 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Left passager door lock when lock or unlocked makes a loud grinding noise. Front drivers door will not unlock with manual key. I have seen many reports of same on this website. I believe this is a major issue that needs addressed by Honda. Honda has no sevice recalls , but it looks like they did in 2006 ?.

70 Owners/service Manual problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/25/2013

My left back door doesn't lock anymore. When I lock it slowly unlocks itself on its own. So a while it would remain locked if I locked by key fogger but now it doesn't lock at all. It appears to lock but eventually unlocks itself. I have 2 small kids sitting in backseat. I have set my car to lock once I drive 15mph. It would appear to lock but while driving unlocks itself. I have had no wrecks in this vehicle. This is supposed to be a family vehicle and the door eventually unlocks itself while driving. Very dangerous for small kids in back. My son realized his door wasn't locked and tried to manually lock it which eventually it unlocked itself again. I took to Honda and it is $400 to get fixed. Plus they have to order parts so I have to pay for a rental until parts come in. If I could manually lock door that is different issue but it unlocks itself even manually. Honda needs to recall this to be fixed for a small child gets hurt!.
