1 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2016 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/20/2017

Turning into my driveway I could not stop I pressed the brakes down to the floor but nothing stopped only by hitting our air conditioner avoiding our home. There was still brake fluid but thinking it was the cylinder, no indication or light came on that anything was wrong.

2 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2005 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/20/2014

While driving on !-25 south, the car started to choke and almost completely stalled while on the left lane. Tried to merge right and slow down the car. The brakes would not respond. The car was still choked and then gives in and goes again. Took the first exit and continues to press on the brakes to slow down the car. It continued on for a while before reaching a complete stop. After stopping, checked the engine for leaks or smoke and there was nothing. I started the car again and it seem to start fine. Then there was some kind of light noise. I drove it to just the other side of the highway where where there were some stores. Took it to the dealer that just performed preventive timing belt replacement. Said that they found broken/seized spark plug in cylinder 2. The work was done at 76000. Current miles is 77990. The issue seem to be happening to 2005 Honda Odyssey.

3 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/30/2014

This has to do with the recent recall regarding the master brake cylinder. The car was recently taken into the local Honda dealer. Ever since this recall was completed, I've felt (and sometime heard) a slight "buzz" when first touching the brake pedal. The "buzz" is a vibration, which is felt in the first few seconds after application and immediately disappears if braking is held, or released. It may again appear if the pedal is depressed, but not always. Braking feels normal with no other events. It has not gotten worse or disappeared. Please call for further questions or comments. Thank you.

4 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2012 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 12/27/2012

I have had the same problems that everyone has since I bought this van new (may 2012). Around 41,000 miles (Aug 2014) had warning lights & codes come up. Honda replaced cylinders 1-3 & work order also showed service bulletin 13-081, repalced under warranty. Then I smelled oil & saw a small leak in sept 2014. Honda found leaking valve cover gasket, replaced under warranty. Took van to florida. When we got there we had to take the van to a Honda shop for a low tone knocking noise while idling and louder when accelerating. They had the van for 4 days. Honda provided a free rental. Honda wrote on work order. 43307 worn camshaft lobe causing knocking noise 36108, performed inspection found noise coming from front cylinder head, called techline, techline instructed to inspect for worn cam shaft, pulled valve cover found cylinder #6 intake lobe worn. Removed and replaced front cylinder head camshaft & camshaft seal. Noise gone. It also responds better when pushing gas pedal & gas mileage improved. I bet I have had about $5000 worth of warranty work done at this time just from under the hood. During all this, I contacted the better business bureau & Honda was notified. I have been complaining to corporate Honda from the beginning about this van & they always would say that nothing is wrong. Finally I get a call from corporate Honda to tell me they found nothing from my visit involving replacement of my cylinders. Boy was he misinformed and got an earfull. I have also had my front rotors resurfaced (35,657 miles), got a goodwill warranty. They should give a goodwill warranty with all the Honda vehicles we have bought. Each van I buy (1995, 2005, 2012) gets worse and lasts for a shorter lenght of time before I feel I can't trust it for a trip out of town. I am starting to experience little issues again like I did when I first bought this van.

5 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/02/2007

Soft brakes. I have had to dealer three times. #1. Replaced brake cylinder brakes were still soft. #2 replaced anti lock brake sensor. Still soft. #3 told that Honda knew of this and I was on a list so when they knew what was wrong I would be contacted. Brakes are still soft. When you step on foot brake car will stop ok, but pedal will go almost to the floor board. Don't know what would happen if had to panic stop.

6 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2001 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/17/2004

Honda identifies that drum brakes on Honda Odyssey are problems. For over two years, we fought with dealership to address the problem and they essentially kept ignoring complaints of loud squeeling (like a semi-truck) when braking. We paid for pads and they paid for drums in Feb. As of sept. , we have the same condition back with the squeeling. Honda has kept this problem silent and we need to bring this into the spotlight.
