2 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/16/2019

Driving on an expressway, the cars in front of me are slowing down, my car's collision mitigation braking system sends a visual alert with the "brake" signal coming on and I feel the brakes engaging, simultaneously I slam on the brakes, and while there was still distance between the car in front of mine and mine, I am not able to brake. The brakes seem confused, and the impact is so strong that my head almost reaches the steering wheel. The seatbelt is locked in place and leaves me sore. Once I am able to get ahold that I was just in a car accident, I am unable to lower the windows, the car is able to call for help on it's own and does so although nothing comes of that in that no help comes. Once I get off the van I notice the plate is knocked and on the floor, the bumper has fallen off and the hood and grill are curled up pictures attached. The car seems to be leaking a fluid and we are unable to start it. I believe that because we (the car and I) simultaneously having the system engaging on it's own and my slamming on the brakes prevented the brakes from working. The impact was with such velocity that it's impossible to have had them working properly. This is an important safety concern if the driver and the system are unable to work together or too confusing for the system. Interestingly, the air bags didn't deploy! additionally, the initial scan by the auto body shop had many alerts come up but the ones I would like to highlight are abs - ecm failure and integrated driver support system - brake actuator malfunction, attaching that scan too.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 07/12/2018

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph the brake pedal malfunctioned and went to the floor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer tom scott Honda 603 11th Ave n, nampa, id 83687 (208) 466-3248 who said that the master cylinder and booster needed to be replaced. The contact asked several independent mechanics who stated that the master cylinder was fine and full of fluid with no leaks. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 229,000. Tf.

4 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2004 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/08/2015

The brake warning lamp can illuminate, indicating a low brake fluid condition, although no leaking brake fluid is visible throughout the system. A worn rear master cylinder seal can cause fluid to leak into the brake booster, which will cause diminished brake performance over time. There is already a recall issued for this same issue on 2005-2007 Odysseys, but I believe it also applies to 2004 Odysseys.

6 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2007 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/25/2010

No crashes known to me at this date. Condition of the brake pedal approaching the floor board during the inital application mainat stop lights and when approaching another vehicle has been evident for probably for a year. The pedal height increases with repeated pedal applications but after a short period the loss of correct brake application for the stop needed required is again repeated by the excess drop of brake pedal. With the pedal at its lowest travel point contact with the gas pedal can occur. Brake fluid level in the reservoir was always correct; brake clippers and pads are in good condition; no fliud leaks are eviident at th resevoir;caliper connections; or fluid leaks whichmight be seen at any fliud line connecters.

8 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2001 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/25/2008

While attempting to stop our 2001 Odyssey in my son's school parking lot the brake pedal--without any prior warning--went to the floor and I coasted past my intended stopping point by about 20 feet. Luckily no person or vehicle was directly in front of me at that time. I was able to restore brake function by pumping the brake pedal. The next day my mechanic examined the brake master cylinder and found brake fluid leaking into the brake booster. He explained that when the seals on the master cylinder leak the fluid collects in the brake booster. To correct the problem he had to replace the entire master cylinder. He thought that this problem was very very unusual. He specializes in imported vehicles and had never before replaced a leaking master cylinder on a Honda Odyssey of any model year. Our Odyssey is a 2001 model, is very well maintained and has been driven less than 64,000 miles.
