I purchased four goodyear assurance touring p225/60 r16 97t tires at sam's club in March 2011. These were installed on 2003 Honda Odyssey lx. Vehicle, including tires, were well maintained; tires were balanced, rotated periodically and monitored biweekly for the correct level of air pressure. The wheels were aligned. The van is non-commercial; only family / personal use. After 26 months and 27900 miles, one of the tires failed unexpectedly while in use. There were no warning signs of impending failure. Passenger side rear tire failed by blow-out at 65 mph. Vehicle including tires had been subjected to state safety inspection 16 days before the incident and had passed. Nothing was noted about the condition of the tires on the occasion of the state inspection. The tires had been visually inspected by driver at the last fuel stop before the incident with nothing out of the ordinary observed.

Odyssey 2001 suffered transmission failure in 2005 under 7-years warranty and less than 100,000 miles and Honda dealer failed to replace transmission. Owner of vehicle was not notified for recall and ability to file complaints with NHTSA during recall process. On February 14, 2010 vehicle stopped on middle of highway and owner was forced to push vehicle on shoulder despite of disability condition to avoid collision. Car was towed to dealer who quoted for $5,000. 00 to replace transmission. It was discovered vehicle VIN #[xxx] is not in Honda manufacturer's database for recall because of inability of registered owner to file a complaint during recall process. This complaint is relevant to odi#10335008 that I believe recorded inaccurate. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I was driving on a rural 2-lane road when my Mini-van started to slid across the road due to an ice/snow covering. My van slid across the lane and slammed head-on into a large tree. The entire front-end of the van was destroyed, but my air-bags never deployed. Both the police officer and tow-truck driver were dismayed at this. Fortunately, I only have a slight concussion and whiplash (thanks to my safety-belt).

: the contact stated while traveling 30 mph on dry normal road conditions, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger door, and caused a head on collision with a one way street sign. Both front airbags deployed, and the driver sustained a thermal burn on the top of her left hand, bruised knee and right ring finger. Also, the left sleeve of the driver's jacket sustained a burn from the air bag. Both occupants in the contact's vehicle wore their seat belts. The driver's seat was 15 inches away from the steering wheel. There were no pictures available, but a police report was taken. The vehicle was taken to a towing lot, to await inspection. Updated 12/28/06.

Wife driving her Honda Odyssey was hit head on. She wazs traveling about 30 mph and the other car about 10 mph. Air bags did not go off in a head on collission. We have brought the car in about 5 times to get the air bags checked out because the service light came on. Twice they had to replace components of the air bag system. Basically in the 2 1/2 years we had the 2002 Honda Odyssey, we have had to bring it in for air bag service. They claim (and have admitted) that cell phones cause interference with the air bag system. They said that since not enough people have complained, no recall is done yet. My wife was hurt in the accident and I believe that if the air bags went off, she may have been less injured. A recall should be done about this!.

While driving 45 mph, the driver depressed the brake pedal to slow the vehicle down. The vehicle continued to accelerate which caused a collision with two vehicles that were stopped ahead. The driver had to force the vehicle into park to get the vehicle to stop. The front air bags didn't deploy and the vehicle was declared totaled.
While driving at any speed srs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
When I bumped a metal sign in the walmart parking lot on Feb 18 2002 driving 5 mph, my airbags deployed and the seat belts froze. I found in the manual that they are only suppose to deploy upon moderate to severe impact. I along with 3 other body shops and my insurance, state farm, felt that the air bags deployed faulty and never should have gone off. There was no other damage to the vehicle, demonstrating how lightly the sign was hit. This was an expensive defect that I would like to report, in case it should happen to someone else. ****dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis****760765.
Srs light comes on, indicating a problem with the airbag system which may deploy unexpectedly or won't deploy in event of a crash and protect the occupant. Please provide further information.
