Takata recall. My Honda van has the airbag warning light intermittently on. Most days, it is not lit, but for instance, driving today, I got the light. Van has never been in an accident and is still the original factory installed equipment. Airbags don't fail unless it is faulty manufacturer such as part of takata recall. Honda van recall is limited to 2004 but I think 2005 can also be affected.

I took my vehicle in to the service department to have a recall performed. They were to replace the srs electronic control unit replaced. When I took the vehicle in there were no warning lights on. After they completed the recall my srs warning light is on. The light has never been on in the 10 years that I have owned the vehicle. So as it turns out I took a car with no problems in to the dealer to have a recall performed and they returned a defective car to me. They refuse to fix whatever they did to cause the srs malfunction light to come on and stay on.

Airbag sensor light on dash appeared. This happened off & on for 2 months. Wondered if there was a problem with the airbag or the warning light! Honda dealer has told us that the driver side curtain airbag needs a new inflater. We are concerned that this safety feature has only lasted 4 years on a vehicle with less than 40,000 miles on it. Cost to replace is over $1100. 00. Honda has agreed to pay about 1/2, but we feel this is a factory defect -- we should be able to rely on a safety feature for more than 4 years on a vehicle that should serve us for many years!.

Srs airbag warning light came on and stays on. When we had this checked at our local Honda dealer, thelen Honda (bay city, mi), we were told that the srs unit has an internal malfunction would need to be replaced at a cost of about $650 to us. We have had all routine service completed at the Honda dealer since we purchased the van. Recently, our 2002 Honda civic was recalled for an airbag defect and this was remediated at the same dealer under the Honda recall. This would seem to be a company systemic manufacturing defect worthy of manufacturer recall and replacement.
The air bag light stays on frequently, but not all the time. I noticed Honda Odyssey 2003 and 2004 model are currently under investigation for air bag problems including air bag warning lights illuminating. My Odyssey is 2005 model and is having the similar lighting problem. Can the agency also investigate the year 2005 model please? I am very concerned the potential problems it may lead to. There has been no accidents with my minivan.
