1 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2009 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 07/10/2009

The contact owns a 2009 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that the brake pedal abnormally traveled to the floorboard when depressed. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer several times, but the failure was not corrected. The dealer replaced the brake cylinder four times. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told that the vehicle was operating in the manner in which it was designed. The failure mileage was 75 and the current mileage was 34,000. The horn was replaced. Also, the consumer problems with the front end, the tires were cupping, as a result the front end had to be aligned. Also, there were water stains on the carpet. It appeared water entered the vehicle through the holes in the tire wells. The oil drain plug was replaced. Updated 09/02/14.

2 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 2002 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 01/13/2006

On both 9/27/2004 and 1/13/2006 the rear brake cylinders and shoes had to be replaced because of leaking from the cylinder. On the second occasion, mechanics at doug's lynnwood Mazda/Hyundai did not notice the problem on the original visit (12/2/2005), and I had to bring it to their attention in order to get it fixed.

3 Brake Drum Wheel Cylinder problem of the 1997 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 06/08/2000

Consumer was traveling about 35mph applied brakes, and they felt very mushy. Consumer's husband took over & drove vehicle home, and brake pedal was going all the way to the floor. Dealer was contacted & brakes were repaired. The cylinders on both front and rear brakes were leaking. The cylinders were changed. Mechanic said the parts were defective.
