1 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2012 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 04/04/2018

The car is less than 8 years old , maintnance properly, there is no where visible to check transmission fluid during a routine fluid change and when I had the transmission checked and the fluid it was fine . All of a sudden 3 days later my transmission is stuck in 4th gear now it wont move back or forward . I have noticed that a lot of Accent owners have had this same problem and some sooner after having theirs than mine.

2 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2013 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 03/08/2016

Takata recall: I had took my car into the dealership multiple times while it was under warranty because it gets stuck when shifting gears and won't pick up the power when accelerating. While the on the highway it drives horrible and the steering is unpredictable. Each time that I took it into the hyunadai dealership they can't figure out what wrong with it. While it was still under warranty I did take it to other places to see what they would say and they all noticed the issue and stated that it appears that it's with the transmission. I did contact hyuandai directly and they refused to fix the problem and now the car is out of warranty and I am screwed!.

3 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2005 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 01/18/2013

My brake lights malfunctioned causing them to stay depressed and lit up until I disconnected the battery. Now they won't even come back on. I was also having issues with the shifter and it was stuck in the park position. I found out through NHTSA that Hyundai recalled thousands of vehicles for these same problems back in 2009. They said any of these malfunctions could lead to a crash. I had one representative from Hyundai tell me that they don't honor NHTSA recalls. The dealers refuse to replace the stop lamp switch on my vehicle because they won't even acknowledge the recall. The recall that began on September 2, 2009, campaign 092, the article cited to contact this puerto rican phone number 1-787-999-4310 but I can't get through. The dealerships are not very helpful at this point and in fact the service manager at one dealership was extremely rude and stated that he would not work with corporate when corporate decided to back me with the recall. He told me that since my car was having those issues that it was a safety issue and that his recommendation was that the dealership honor that and fix my vehicle, but they refuse. I have no working brake lights and I need help in resolving this issue in a timely manner. Thank you.

4 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2005 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 01/27/2012

The brake lights do not work when the brake pedal is pressed, and the shifter is stuck in the parked position.

5 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2004 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 05/01/2007

I own a 2004 Hyundai Accent. For the past 3 years the transmission has had significant issues. The automatic transmission will randomly slam into a lower gear or will get stuck in a gear. This causes safety issues during winter driving because the vehicle lurches forward at times when shifting. While attempting to enter into traffic, the car will be stuck in 3 gear which almost has caused an accident several times by pulling out too slow. I have had it in twice to the transmission shop and they could not diagnose the problem without an engine code. They flushed, filled and put a new filter in the transmission but this did not help. Sometimes the car will work fine for months or a year at a time. I have researched the problem on the internet and there seems to be many owners that have voiced similar concerns.

6 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 1999 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 07/02/2004

The vehicle is a 1999 Hyundai Accent and I purchased it new. On July 2, 2004 I got in my car and turned it on. When I tried to put the car in reverse it would not move. The gear shift is stuck in 'park' and will not move unless the override switch is depressed. A technical service bulletin was issued by Hyundai for this exact issue (#99-40-017), so they already know that the problem exists. But, the dealerships I contacted in my area will not fix the problem because my car has a little over 80,000 miles and is no longer under warranty. I contacted Hyundai consumer affairs and they also said I would be responsible for paying for the repairs even though I never caused the problem.
