The air bag light had been illuminating and staying on for a bit then going back off. Last week it came on and has stayed on. There has been no reason for it to be on.

So my car all of a sudden started making a strange popping noise while driving the vehicle. Everytime I would turn my steering wheel at a certain angle the wheel would pop. As I drove the car it would continue to make this awful noise until one day im driving down the road and it popped and the steering jerked my car out of the lane . Driving home the wheel was rather stiff and I worried constantly about getting in an accident . My reason for the steering issue is I worry someone will be driving the car and it jerk them into a car coming from the other side of the road which will result in a head on collision. Second issue is the electronical system in general. Everytime I start my car it doesnt start all the way and it dies out mid driving . , I ended up pulling out of an up hill parking lot and not being able to stop the car at the stop sign because the car died out after I had it in drive. I had to pull up and bump the curb in order to stop the car from rolling out into oncoming traffic while leaving the parking lot. I am not sure if its dealing with the ignition in general but that would definatley be a saftey concern. My other issue is the airbag light will not go off. After a certain milage the light came on and I can not get any mechanic to even attempt to fix it over fear of air bag deployment and having to total the vehicle upon repair. I am seriously terrified if I get into a vehicle accident the air bags wont go off at all and it will result in either a really severe injury or even be fatal from airbag failure .

The airbag light stays on. They have recalls and or manufacturers extended warranty for other Hyundai Elantra's, but not for 2013 Hyundai Elantra gt? this is a serious safety issue and I am placing a complaint because this should be covered and not an expense to owner of the car. It's extremely dangerous and could cause serious harm with such a default. All Hyundai's having this issue, should be covered under extended warranty, not just some.

The airbag light stays on all the time. The light is supposed to go out after 6 seconds of the car being started. Mine does not go out and remains lit. They have extended the warranty for 15 years for this issue due to the clock spring needing replaced.

The airbag light on my dash came on about a month ago for no apparent reason and I had my car inspected and no codes were shown. The reason for the airbag light is still unknown and I worry that the airbag wont deploy if I get into an accident. I've heard this happening to several different Hyundai Elantra owners and I think there should be a solution for this common problem.

I just bought this car a few days ago, the airbag light was on all the time even before I purchased, the ex-owner got the car from his grand-MA as a gift and he said it had been like that since he started to drive, I searched online to find out about the problem, noticed that it's a common problem faced by many hyudai Elantra owners.

The dashboard airbag light has come on.

Airbag light came on for no reason and won't shut off. Have not been in an accident, not have I hit any pot holes. No explaination.

Passenger airbag light has remained on for the past 6 months. I have researched the internet and learned that this is a common occurrence in 2010 Hyundai Elantra models. Many other Hyundai models are being recalled for airbag defects. I do not understand why there is not a recall on my model. Car not safe to driving wondering if air bag will deploy in an accident. I contacted the dealership and Hyundai headquarters but both stated my VIN is not part of this recall. Why?.

State inspection failed due to airbag light that came on day of inspection 11/1.

On 10/28/19 I was driving when out of nowhere the airbag light on the dashboard turned on after a few minutes it turned off and then it turned back on. I wasn't in any car accident and I'm currently using my car with the light on. On a different occasion, I also have taken the car in for a clinking noise when steering and the dealership swore to never hear the noise now my car is out of warranty and it stills making that noise. It was the same noise it made when the right axle in my car had to be replaced. As well, as changing the harness on my rear lights because the brake lights kept burning out and I was constantly changing them out.

Airbag light on even when in motion. No incident or accidents happen. It wont turn off even after minutes of start up.

The airbag light came on and I got it diagnosed and it was the clock spring. The clock spring needed to be replaced and the tech said that the clock spring itself wasnt broken, just that it shorted out. This should be covered under the warranty since this is a safety issue. I googled this problem before I got it fixed and there was a consensus that Elantras have an issue with the clock spring. Hyundai did a partial recall of Elantras within 2011-2014 for this issue, but my vehicle wasn't included in this recall. The light would generally stay on but would occasionally turn off on the highway, but then back on.

While driving, my airbag light came on. I was not in an accident nor did I drive over any bumps in the road. It goes off, then comes back on again.

I purchased a car from al at island auto sales, (631) 569-5050, 330 east main street, suite b, patchogue, NY 11772. 1-air bag light was/is on at all the time. 2-car was out of alignment/worn inside tires all times. 3-car transmission all of the sudden slows and then jumps, very frequently, while driving al said he will fix the issues. He aligned the car, but is still pulling to the side. I took it to a mechanic shop and he said: "tires are worn out from inside and can cause serious damage. Airbag speed detection sensor is missing all together and can be very dangerous. I have contacted al, via phone, email and fax, and asked him to correct the two issues. He is not responding. That is why I am contacting you for help. I have a record of my communications with island auto sales.

Airbag light came on when car is started and stays on even while starting to drive. It may come off intermittently while car is motion but mostly remains on. (the only recent work accomplished was an alternator replacement by professional mechanic a week and a half prior. ).

2 weeks after I purchased this car, the airbag light on the instrument panel came on. Dealer refused to do anything about it. Also noticed 2 weeks after I purchased, that the sunroof assembly leaks, and water pools around the spare tire. Worried about water damage caused to the spare tire, and the possibility of mold growing.

The eps light on the dashboard came on one day. I was worried about driving the car, so I went to a nearby mechanic first. He informed me there was an issue with my steering column and an open recall for my VIN. He encouraged me to go to a dealership and see if the recall was connected to the steering issue. I went directly to the dealership and had the recall performed. A few days later, the eps light came back on. Shortly after that, the airbag light also came on. I parked the car for fear of a possible incident. I was finally able to get the car back to the dealership. After initial diagnostics, I was informed the steering column needs to be replaced and the technician wants to start the airbag fix by replacing the sensor under the passenger seat. Each repair was over $2,000 with my grand total being just over $4,800 and no guarantee that it will be safe to drive at that point. I have read multiple other complaints about both of these issues and people with under 60,000 miles dealing with $2,000+ dollar repairs. If the steering goes out, it has caused accidents. That coupled with the airbag light, which notifies the whole airbag system has been disabled, makes this car totally unsafe to operate. Even out of their warranty periof now, these were reported issues that I was not made aware of when the car was purchased used in 2013. I contacted the corporate office and made my complaint. When I received a callback, I was told that because my car is over the mileage warranty and there were no open recalls, nothing could be done to help me. The $4,800+ repair bill is mine and mine alone.

Air bag light came on intermittently, and will not turn off now, even when vehicle is in motion. After researching ive seen that this is a common issue but have heard it is an expensive fix. A recall is necessary!!!.

The airbag light came on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra gt at the 61,000 mile mark. Took it in to the dealership to find out the problem and it was determined the the clock spring was found defective from the manufacturer. They were willing to replace the clock spring but at a cost of $495 dollars. I asked why they were charging since this was a manufacturer and safety problem and they determined that my car was no longer covered since I had gone over the 60,000 mile mark. I called Hyundai USA to report my concern for this safety hazard and all they told me was that they could not cover it due to mileage. I am greatly concerned for the safety of my family and self knowing that the airbag is disabled if a car crash were to occur. This is the only means of transportation that I have and unfortunately cannot afford to pay for something that is a safety defect and hazard which I feel Hyundai should fix at no cost.

Air bag light was coming on and off while driving, since 8/17/2019. Now it is on all of the time. Vehicle has not been in any recent accidents, or received any damage. Research shows this is probably a clock spring in the steering wheel. $79 dealer fee just to identify the issue, before parts and labor to repair. Seems to be pretty common for Hyundai vehicles of this age and should be a recall!.

Srs air bag light on. Gurnee Hyundai and Hyundai USA 1(800)633-5151 said this does not fall under NHTSA campaign id : 11v143000 because my car is a GLS not an se. Srs is always on and dealer said sensor was contaminated just like the campaign stated could happen on 2009 Elantras. Hyundai wants over $2000 to replace this sensor.

Airbag light came on at 197,000 miles. The vehicle was not in any type of accident where the airbag deployed.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the air bag indicator was illuminated for a long time without warning. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was not provided.

The airbag light is on! I've never been in a vehicle accident or a fender bender for the life of the vehicle. I can't get an inspection sticker.

My steering column makes an awful noise like a clicking noise the whole time I'm driving it really scares me but I have to drive it bc it's my only means of transportation. Now my break lights all the way across doesn't work and it's not a fuse. Last thing is my airbag light stays on also which scares me . Please some one help get these issues resolved quickly I'm the second owner so I probably haven't gotten the recalls about these issues. Please please help me . Thank you.
