After I turn my car on, all of the warning lights go off except for the airbag light. It continuously stays on whether the car is stationary or in any form of motion. Occasionally, it will go off for a second or two when the steering wheel is turned but it always comes back on and remains lit.

After driving over railroad tracks, the driver side air bag warning light randomly turned on. The light stays on. I went to the Hyundai dealership to have the issue resolved, but they are charging close to $400. I am worried that my air bag system is not functioning properly.
Air bag warning light comes on and stays on. Recently replaced battery so it could just be some connection or electrical issue. Dealers claim it's $200 just to check. This should be a free fix even if out of warranty.
Airbag warning light came on for no reason while I was driving and remains on. I called dealership and was told I would have to pay $169. 00 just to diagnose the problem. Reading the other complaints on this website it appears gt has the same airbags as other Elantras but is not on recall for this part? why not? isn't this a safety issue?.

At approximately 93000 miles, the air bag warning light came on and will not go off. At the same time the steering wheel controls for the phone/radio also failed. Apparently it is a common failure with 2013 Elantras.
Air bag warning light staying on. Took the car to Hyundai dealership. Diagnosis code was high resistance. I am told this is a broken wire. Hyundai refused to pay the $360 repair. My extended warranty also refused to pay the repair. When the light is staying on, if in an accident none of the air bags will deploy. The car only has 67,000 miles. This is a safety problem and there are many complaints about this. I spoke with their customer care dept, they refused to pay for the repair. Their was an extended warranty on some models, but they say my car isnt on the list. I have contacted the bbbauto line, and the missouri state atty general. At no time is money more important than consumer safety. I only ask for them to rightfully repair my car. They advertise how safe their cars are and there are 6 air bags. Unfortunately they dont work. Please help and make other consumers aware of this problem thank you.
The airbag warning light came on spontaneously at about 104,000 miles.
Dashboard air bag warning light is on.
Airbag warning light keeps going off.
When I turned on my car on in Sep. 19 2018, the airbag warning light turned and stayed lit. Now, I have the issue of my airbags won't deploy when in a accident. My car has never been in a accident ever, and now I have this problem that it can be one of two things. The cock spring needs to be reset or a computer board needs to be replaced underneath the passenger seat and reprogrammed. Also, it is hard to believe that is not safety concern to neither the Hyundai manufacture or NHTSA. In regards to that, when I had a 2008 Hyundai accent it had the same issue with the airbags light in the dashboard that turned on. Also, when took my accent to the dealership the cost related to that was $2,800 to fix the issue. I feel that if it happened to more then one Hyundai car model the issue should be address and fixed.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the air bag warning light stays illuminated. The contact suspects through research the issue may be the timing spring in the steering wheel. The dealer Hyundai of anderson 1925 pearman dairy rd, anderson, SC 29625 (864) 642-0900 mentioned the spring was a common issue but they would have to run a diagnostics test and charge a fee. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 60,000. Tf.
There is an active recall campaign on the clockspring for this vehicle. The airbag light will turn on and off while turning the steering wheel while driving. Hyundai charged for a diagnosis which revealed a "b1346 driver airbag resistance too high (1st stage)" code, but they would not replace the clockspring under warranty. On Hyundai's own website they describe the reason for the additional warranty "the clock spring is an electrical connection which rotates with the steering wheel to maintain proper functioning of the airbag unit. Hyundai's system is designed to illuminate the airbag warning light when electrical resistance increases, which can be contributed to by usage patterns and environmental conditions. " and in regards to warranty extension: "Hyundai is extending the warranty coverage for the driver's front airbag clock spring assembly to 15 years, unlimited mileage, from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use. This coverage is automatic; there is no action needed on your behalf. " I would like Hyundai of America to replace the part as promised, as I can't afford to do more diagnostic procedures, and I feel very unsafe driving the vehicle.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra 4dr GLS with 86,000 miles on it. Red airbag warning light will not turn off. Took it to local Hyundai dealer in lansing, mi. Told me it would cost $122 just to read the fault code with their equipment. They told me it was fault code b138200. They said it was the airbag front seat passenger back assembly. Part number 884003x631pbs. They told me it was not covered under warranty because I am over 60,000 miles. When I looked up the fault code it stated side airbag front passenger resistance too high. They want $1,321. 00 to fix it. Searching on line revealed many complaints on the Hyundai Elantra airbag system. I believe this should be a safety recall. Thanks.
Takata recall: three weeks ago the warning light for my air bag started going on and off. Last week the air bag warning light still on all the time. Today I took the car to my mechanic and after the scan the problem in his computer, he found a problem in a electronic component of the air bag circuit, he also told me that have been a recall on the air bag in that model. The problem begun when the car was moving on city street. I try to report it directly to takata recall but every time I tried, the computer does not recognize my Hyundai VIN number.
