The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that he heard a squeaking noise while driving the vehicle. The contact stated that he took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and was informed that there was rust on the rotors and the rattle clips needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and stated that he would have to meet with a representative. The failure mileage was 500. . . . - the contact owns a 2005 Hyundai Elantra . On April 24, 2009 while driving at approximately 30 mph, the preceding vehicle braked unexpectedly. When the consumer applied her brake they failed to work and she crashed into the back of the vehicle. She experienced minor injuries, but her children who were passengers were unharmed. She has not had previous issues with the vehicle. She did however mention hearing a squeaking noise about twice prior to the crash, but was not sure if it was related to the brake failure.
