2 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 05/26/2013

Two issues: (1) I purchased the vehicle on may 26, 2013. I found out that the gov. Had issued a recall for the Elantra models built from 11-12-2010 through 3-5-2013. My car was assembled on Feb, 22, 2013. I was never told about this at time of purchase and have never received any notification from Hyundai motor America. The dealers are not responsive. (2) the "auto-dimming rearview mirror with homelink & compass" rarely functions. Real problem is that mirror image and headlights are same intensity/ clarity whether unit is turned on or off--very dangerous at night. The dealer I purchased car from and another dealer refused to investigate.

3 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

This car has large blind spots caused by both the left and right front pillars. The positioning of the rear view mirror only makes the right blind spot larger as there is only the space from the bottom of the mirror to the right pillar to view outside of the car. As a result, I almost hit someone crossing the street from my right to my left. Thankfully, I saw them in time to apply my brakes. This happens frequently with this car. And, at intersections where there is a four-way stop or, when I am entering the lane, I can often not see a car coming from either direction. I fully anticipate that this car will be involved in numerous accidents. The Elantra driver will be at fault but no one will look to this "defect" in the car as the problem.

6 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2001 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 12/01/2000

I have had some electrical problems from the day I purchased the car. Tried to resolve these with Hyundai but they said unless they were currnetly happening when the car was brought in there was nothing they could do about it. The mirror will sometimes move on its own and sometimes the electrical in the car will all go on without the car being on. The malfunciton light lights up here and there also. Also I have a problem with my front end suspention being very shakey and my brakes shake when stopping at higher speeds. I have only had the car a year. One more problem that it has is a major bolt in the front suspention went bad a month after I bought the car and so the dealer fixed that but they said it came off the assembly line that way. The electrical problems started a month after purchase. I bought the car new. I hate my car.
