The windshield washer does not work in below 24 degrees. I have had to stop while driving many times to clean windshield by hand ,putting my self and other drivers in great danger. I have used multiple brands off washer fluids including DE-icers with out success. I have been driving for 40 years and have had many vehicles and never had this problem. 2013 Elantra gt (not on drop down list).

2013 Hyundai Elantra. Consumer writes in regards to windshield wiper design failure the consumer stated the wiper blade on the passenger side was very short and the bottom end of the wiper blade left a semi-circular water streak right in front of the person sitting in the passenger seat on every wipe of the blade. Also, there was a spot at the bottom of the windshields where the passenger wiper blade left a short inverted "v" type spot that the driver's wiper blade did not clean which would freeze into in the winter. The consumer stated the steering was too sensitive. The consumer was informed the vehicle has electric steering which may be related to the condition. The steering was so sensitive, that he had to constantly move the wheel left and right just to stay out of the oncoming traffic lane and stay in his lane of traffic. Several times, while driving, in a slight crossing wind with various groups of trees, the level of steering sensitivity forced him to run off the edge of the road to avoid entering the oncoming traffic lane. Also, on a few occasions, the consumer had to hit the brakes harder than normal, but not hard enough to engage the abs. With the electric assisted steering, it was impossible to feel if the vehicle was centered in his lane prior to using the brakes.

01/10/07 windshield wiper failure to clear windshield
when using the wipers to clear snow from windshield, the middle of both wipers would not clear snow enough to see out in certain spots. Winter blades had just been installed. I stopped the car and wiped them off. Blades continued to skip over certain spots on windshield. This has happened numerous times. I agree with others statement that maybe this car is not meant to be driven in the snow, or at least wipers not meant to clear off snow as it lands on windshield. I too, had previously completely cleared buildup of windshield before starting out.

Any time it is very cold, the washer solvent freezes in the lines and you cannot squirt to clean the windows. This has been a problem on several occassions, but I guessed at 5.
Car continues to overheat. This is the fourth time it has happened; sometime the problem can not be duplicated and I am sent on my way even though it has happen before. The cylinder heads, water pump, thermostat, sensor and many others are only a few of the things that have been replaced on this problem. The car shuts-off without warning, and drives like a desiel engine (rough), you almost have to floor it to make the car stop and the dealer says it is normal; even though I hit another car going about 5mph because the car jerked foward and smashed my hood (I hit a Ford:excrussion so he had no damage) and the transmission does not shift correctly. Sure the dealer ship tries to fix the problem but there have been times I have been out of my car for a long as 7 to 8 weeks and many times there don't even know whats wrong. I have tried to contact rick case the dearlership owner and I never reiceve a call or email.
