Air bag light comes when car is started and stays on until the ignition is switched off. Stays on whether the car is stationary or in motion. Not having air bag active in the event of need is a dangerous condition. Do not know condition that is causing air bag light to stay on. Other Sonata model years have a recall issued for this problem so I think the 2007 model years is related to the same problem but dealer says this auto is not under a recall for air bag light.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated once he turned the ignition switch the air bag warning indicator was illuminated and remained on the entire duration of any drive. The problem occurred numerous of times. The vehicle was taken to dealer and the recommendation to have the passenger seat belt buckle replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified about the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. Lb.
Hyundai has changed my seat belt buckle numerous times because of an air bag related issue. Now that its out of warranty they will not cover it. Air bag light back on and they want,$400 to replace the bad seatbelt with any warranty. This is probably the 4th time since I had the vehicle brand new that im having this problem, I never in my life experienced so many airbag problems with a vehicle other then a Hyundai. Also now they are saying my brake light switch is bad yet again after they supposely changed it out a few years ago for a recall, to many of the same problems with Hyundai. Scared to drive the car feels like I bought a lemon. Wish there was more that Hyundai could do for there customers but it seems like they dont care. What ever happend to Hyundai slogan about safety 1st. .
My air bag light stays on all the time. Whenever I am driving alone, my passenger seatbelt light flashes not stop. This two things been going on for a while now. Also my my lights stay on even after I switch my lights off, I have to turn them on and turn them back off until they shut off. A mechanic told me its the brake light switch causing the problem. I have had technicians look at these issues, and it will cost hundreds to repair. I believe Hyundai is missing out the point that the 2007 Sonata models have an air bag issue too.
The airbag light came on in my 2007 Sonata. Taking it to the dealer, they replaced the safety belt and then they said it was the cushion switch on the passenger's side. Looking on the internet, there are quite a few claims of exactly the same thing that is wrong with my car. If this is true, how come, there is no recall to fix it. This item is for safety!!!!.
Nhtsa campaign id number: 08v161000 this is for a 2007 Hyundai Sonata passenger seat airbag switch. When my passenger sits there at times the airbag light on dash will show airbag system off. I have pictures that can be emailed to you if needed. I showed this to the Hyundai dealer and Hyundai corporation. They said because it did not fail at dealers location they can not do anything. I showed them the pictures and they still said no to fix. It would be different if I had no proof. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Help me. Thanks.
2007 Hyundai Sonata. Passenger airbag light stays on while my wife is sitting in front passenger seat. This means that the airbag is not activated & in the event of an accident the airbags will not deploy. We have had the front cushion replaced in Nov 2007 but the problem have returned. This is an intermittent problem. We have photo's of the light on & passenger seat occupied. Company so far is sending me to the dealer but unless the light is on while we are there they won't do anything.
2007 Hyundai Sonata had recall work done for the air bag deployment switch. Consumer states that the repairs were unable to fix the problem. The consumer stated the air bag light was on when an adult was sitting in the seat. The manufacturer informed the consumer that nothing else could be done and the problem was due to how the passenger sat in the seat.
