1 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2019

I have only had the car for about 6-7 months I bought it from a private owner I changed the oil and bought a new battery. The car did high milage at 194,000 miles I still bought the car. Last week while on my lunch break I was in my way to go pay my car insurance when I seen I had 32 miles to empty which I never let it get that low but I did obviously that day. As I begin to go up hill it felt like it stuttered so I figured I was running out of gas. But as I came over the hill I press on the gas and noticed that it revved up and to my knowledge the car was locked up the steering wheel was not able to turn the breaks were locked up and all my dash lights were on. I was scared and just let the car coast down the hill approaching a red light with traffic stopped all I could do was hope I didnt get it or hit no one else for not having much control over the car I braked as much as I could and coasted it into a gas station to where. I made it to the pump and turned the off off and went and got gas for the car. Tried to turn it over and not a thing happen sounded dead battery like it wanted to start but once I turned the key and it did not start if I tried right after just made a click click noise. I took my battery out and home to charge thinking maybe a bad cell or maybe alternator. Bought new battery and it not start so no not the alternator. I am at lost for words tried to turn the crankshaft and wont budge. Am I able to still get this looked at by Hyundai even if I just bought the car. Its registered to me if it is caused by these recalls does the car have to still be running for me to be able to recieve the benefits I have never had a car just straight die. Never made any noise or smoke or got hot. Also I noticed when I have the key and drop it down into all the gears it goes but when I slap it over to the manual side I can go from 1st to 2sd and that's it.

2 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2019

Takata recall. I bought my 2011 Hyundai Sonata last year in March of 2018. I was unaware of the many recalls it had, but figured the dealership wohld have notified me, which they did not. January of 2019 I had my engine replaced, which was on the recall list. Before I had brought the car in they told me they would fix all recalls. They never did. There is a recall on the "cupler" which is in the steering wheel compartment, which I was told they would fix before bringing it in. When I picked the car up it was not fixed and when I asked why not, they told me I was over the limited mileage by 1,000 miles. They now tell me I have to pay $300 for that part. Also, when checked on this website about my recalls it said they have all been repaired, which is a complete lie. Out of the 20 recalls they fixed 2. The engine and the fuel pump which was affected by the motor issue. I have dealt with them in the past, with my 2003 elantra when I needed a radiator, which I paid full price, but they never gave me a new radiator like they told me they were putting in my car. I found out when I later sold my car, years later. I feel this company is fradulent. Hyundai of watertown, CT.

3 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2019

I bought this car in March of 2018. They never told me about the 20 plus recalls that were never fixed. I recently had my engine replaced due to a recall. I also have about 20 recalls on this car that were not fixed. After my engine was replaced the Hyundai dealership cleared out all of my recalls as if they were fixed. They were not fixed or replaced, only the engine and fuel pump. They are telling me I have to pay out of pocket for other recalls on the car. They changed the wording to "extended warranty" when the part is on the recall list. Please look into this seeing they commited a fradulent act on me in the past on another car I bought from them.

4 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

On a two lane surface street driving on a straight course at 35 mph the steering wheel suddenly began to shake back and forth so violently that I could barely hang on and keep the car on the road until I could get it to stop on the road's shoulder. It continued to shudder until the engine was turned off. Upon proceeding at about 20 mph to a phone to call for a tow to a dealer it happened again and jerked the car into the oncoming opposite lane. It could not be driven safely at any speed. It happened a third time when loading the car onto the tow truck. The violent shaking of the steering wheel continued well after the engine was powered off. The dealer's service mechanics were able to replicate this violent shaking condition in their shop with the engine both running and with the engine off. They submitted a video on it to Hyundai engineers. The diagnosis was "internal failure of the power steering pump /module that is built into the steering column. " a replacement module was ordered and replaced in about four days and $1033. 92.
