Rear Suspension Problems of Hyundai Sonata

Rear crossmember rusted out. Passenger rear tire turned out to right and cause me to veer into the right lane, nearly causing an accident.

All four original equipment struts factory installed on a 2002 Hyundai Sonata 4 cylinder, have failed. Vehicle has 51,000 miles and the struts have not been doing their job for 15000 miles. When looked into, at the dealership (vehicle has extended warranty) the dealerships position is they will not replace the struts unless they are leaking. And if 1 was leaking they would only replace that one strut. . . . Have the same issue with a 2004 Hyundai santa fe 2. 7 awd vehicle also. That vehicle has 79,000 miles and have the same drivibilty condition. And was told the same exact thing about the dealership/ manufacturer's position.

The Hyundai Sonata mine is an'06 has a strut problem in that it "thunks" on certain road surfaces and back into or out of driveways, I have tried in vain to get Hyundai corporate to do something about this problem only to fall on deaf ears, the edmonds car space forum is full of complaints about his problem. Factory reps say they cannot hear anything, dealers say there is nothing wrong with the car and it is up to corporate to issue a recall on these vehicles. This is a totally frustrating problem that they see fit to ignore and yet they have tsbs on two other of their vehicles with the same identical problem but choose to ignore the Sonata and azera which have the same problem. Everybody on the forum has tried in vain to get Hyundai corporate to do something about, but nothing we can do is moving them.

Thumping noise from rear of car almost all the time, all road types and all speeds. Dealers will not acknowledge that the know about such problems. Seems to happen during hot weather(above 80 degrees) has been going on at least 3 years and getting worse. Many complaints on edmonds. Com but Hyundai service tech at pinehurst refused to recognize that as a valid site. Most people that ride in car get scared that car is going to come apart. Wife works as realtor and is affected by problem.

Own 2007 Hyundai Sonata se with only 5000 miles. Had the following problems: 1. Rear suspension had to replaced shortly after purchase 2. Passenger side seat. One seat runner was defective.

Right rear wheel was making a rubbing noise. Took vehicle in for service and the dealer discovered the bearing needed replaced.

Noticed weird noise coming from rear passenger tires. When brakes and tires checked found rear bearings went out. Car is now immobile.

Right-rear (I. E. , passenger side rear) tire wearing abnormally. Rotating tires has spread the problem to all tires mounted at any time on the right-rear. Nothing has happened to damage any suspension components and right-rear wheel alignment is okay.

From 10 mph to stop very bad screaching sound comming from rear of car. Dealer say's normal but does it every time you stop just can't be . Just can't.
