Proceeding with flow of traffic, southbound on a 2 lane st, I was in the curb lane. A truck exiting interstate ran through, at approx 50-60 mph, a red light. Initial contact was made on passenger side front and rear door. He continued to push my car, and I turned the wheel to the right to avoid left lane traffic (as they couldn't move becuase of guard rail facing east) and he gunned it and pushed me into a concrete the guard rail at about 15-25 mph. The car was stuck in drive, it couldn't be put into any other gear. ??there were no airbag deployment at all??I've missed worked since 2/11. I have severe left side injuries-neck, shoulder, upper/lower arm, wrist, and left hand, upper back pain, lower back pain, pain down the back of my legs, right shoulder pain, concussion, numbness, tingling in fingers, back, and feet. Labored breathing, bruising, headache, some loss of mobility, in constant pain, panic attacks/anxiety, under care of pulmonologist, family dr. , physical therapist, chiropractor (as of now), insurance company towed car to their facility to get estimate. They have the car in their possession and the only ones to do any inspection at this point. There were absolutely no warning lights, messages, noises, no warnings on bluelink app, nothing that would give me any indication there were issues with transmission (gear stuck in drive) or airbag malfunctions.

Since I got this vehicle the gear shift gets stuck. I have gone to the dealership to get the problem fixed. The problem has been the backlight switch. It is a big hassle trying to get this problem fixed with the dealership. The backlight switch last two to three years. I got the recall letter about the backlight switch in 2012, but why my VIN number is not listed? the dealership has been charging me every single time I have been there for this constant problem. I almost got kill by the train because of this backlight switch problem. I got stuck a feet away from the rail tracks two weeks ago, there was a car at front of me and I couldn't move the gear shift to reverse. The car decided to move at the last minute and I couldn't do anything. The contention bar was over my windshield so I couldn't move forward and I couldn't move backwards because the gear shift wasn't moving. I have been in the dealership for five times and the last two times, they have kept my car there, but they haven't even touched it. They haven't told me the reason why, but I just found it out. It is because my VIN number is not listed. This is a very dangerous problem. Driving a car with this problem once you apply the brakes the gear shift won't work. Neither in case you have to park or make a turn. Picking up my daughter from school is a big problem because once I park, the gear shift doesn't move down, so I have to turn it off up to three times and wait each time two to three minutes until the engine resets itself. Drivers behind me get so frustrated. Would you please help me to list my VIN number? I am very concerned driving this car with my family.

When driving and occasionally hit a bump the icon (slippery) appears on the dash and later when you stop to back up to park the gears get stuck and you can't move it to the gear to backup. Since this car has stick shift and automatic driving features you have to keep shifting the years back and forth until it jumps back into reverse. This happens to frequently.
Acceleration issues from stop. Engine will go to high rpm's without moving the vehicle. Issues seen with vehicle leaving 1st gear, vehicles rolls in to intersection and loses power. Vehicle has hard shift issues and often seems to be "stuck in gear" for too long.

About mid-may of this year my husband experienced loss of acceleration (as if in stuck in neutral) at a red light. The car was in drive, the car revved to 3500-4000, but the car rolled backwards. The car was without power for about 10 seconds then terrifyingly lurched forward as though slipping in and out of gear. We took the car to the dealership on 06/21/2016 and were told that our car needed a software update and all the adaptive values were reset. We took our Tucson back. On 07/07/16 in rush hour traffic, our Tucson lost acceleration/power again when pulling away from a busy red light. The engine just revved up to 4000+ rmp, rolled backwards and had no power or forward acceleration. The car was in drive and the loss of power was about 20 seconds. We immediately called our dealership service advisor and were instructed to bring our Tucson in immediately. Our car was kept for several days and on Monday morning, July 11th I received a call stating that the technician was unable to replicate the loss of power and no error messages were identified and "that was just how the dual transmission (dct) functions". I picked up my car, drove about two blocks away from the dealership and lost all acceleration/power again when attempting to turn right onto a busy street from a stopped position. This time the loss of power was a full 45 seconds or more. The engine revved to over 6000 rpm and sputtered, slipping in and out of what felt like neutral, it was terrifying and I was almost hit! I immediately returned to the dealership and demanded that someone test drive with me but unfortunately it did not replicate the issue. I was told that the service supervisor would be looking at my car. The loss of acceleration/power is a very dangerous problem and we do not feel safe driving our Tucson. The dealership seemed completely at a loss as to what could be the problem.
There is a problem with the 1. 6l turbo dual clutch transmission. On three or more occations, pressing the accellerator after being at a couple stop at a traffic light resulted in the vehicle revving to the redline and the car not moving. The last time it happened (June 18th 2016 ~2pm), the car began to roll backwards because I was on a slight incline. I almost hit the vehicle behind me. I tried tried putting it in park. I tried switching to manual mode. I tried turning the car off and on. Nothing worked. It would not move. It was as though it was stuck in neutral. Then without reason, it began to move again. When it did move, it was extremely jerky and lurched forward a couple of times. That was the worst and most frightening. Lately all it has been doing is once or twice a day on average it does the slow acceleration and lurch. This happens during my morning and evening commute. Once it has happened, it does not happen until the next day. I have been lucky that it has not happened while turning into traffic. But it is clearly a dangerous situation.
The transmission/gears gets stuck when I want to put it in reverse. This happened 5 times in the last 3 months. I brought the car and complained to the dealer and they said it could be a brake light issue and could not fix it unless they see the problem when it happens. This problem occurs randomly. It happened again last week so I scheduled to bring it in to the dealer this week.

The contact owns a 2005 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, she attempted to accelerate further, but the vehicle would not accelerate beyond that speed. The vehicle remained stuck in third gear while the contact attempted to accelerate further. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer at least six times, but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 47,000.

2006 Tucson 5-speed manual transmission SUV remains stuck in 3rd gear. Car parked and ignition turned off while gear still engaged results in this locked-up gear backlash problem. Work around: leave parking brake released. Lean on car bumper and push slightly to free the power train.
