Failure Date: 08/28/2019

Airbag light started blinking on 2007 G35x with 87000 miles. Dealer said it was sensor in passenger seat at a cost of $5500 to replace. These seat airbsg sensors for 04-07 were recalled but my car was made December 2006, outside of the recall. After looking this up it seems to be very common with these cars outside of the recall. It should be included. Now I can't drive the car with no airbag system.

4 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

Occupant classification system malfunction. I have a 2007 Infiniti G35 with 144000 miles, never had any accident before. Recently the air bag light started flashing for no apparent reason. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost several thousands dollar to fix. After doing research it suggests this is a very common problem that many Infiniti/Nissan owners are currently have. Nissan has recall for this particular problem for very selected vehicle but I think a wider range of recall should be done by Infiniti/Nissan.

5 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

A safety problem with my Infiniti, a 2007 G35x model occurred randomly, with odometer reading around 160,000 miles. The airbag light on the dash began to flash without having been in an accident or damage to the car in anyway. I believe that the failure of this module was not due to neglect or error on my part. Upon my research, I found an airbag safety recall on 2006 and some 2007 G35x Infinitis, but my particular vehicle was not included. . Read more...

Airbag light on dashboard keeps flashing and passenger occupant light is on even when a passenger is on the passenger seat. Took vehicle to dealer and they reported that they are receiving code 'b1018 - OCS sensor mat malfunctioning. ' I know that there is currently a recall for this (NHTSA #08-521) but the dealer states that my VIN is not included in this recall, however, my car is has the exact symptoms and codes for that recall. I believe my vehicle should be included in that recall notice.

11 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

The car burned nearly 4. 2. Qts of oil in under 4000 miles. Massive number of users indicate same problem of insane amounts of oil consumption on various forums on the internet. This is most likely also a serious smog violation in CA and also is causing engines to blow up. Numerous mechanics will verify that they have seen the same problem with engines blowing at under 100,00 miles do to excess oil consumption. I have proof of my last oil change and number of miles. Also the amount of oil that came out of my car was less than a quarter of quart after only 4,000 miles of driving. My mechanic verified that there are no leaks. Please NHTSA! please investigate this issue further. 20,0000 dollar car is basically totaled now. All dealers and Nissan refuses to acknowledge the problem even though there is a high possibility they know of the problem and are hiding it. Also, the airbag light has been on for three years and no matter how you reset it, it will continually return to being on, indicating some sort of problem with the airbags.

12 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 10/29/2016

While driving on highway at a speed of 65 miles when my car shut off; I'm blessed that I was driving on a two lane highway and maneuver over quickly without another car rear ending me. After sitting for 10 minutes then the power kicked back in. What could be the issue. . . . . . Now the service engine soon light is on so is the slip and vdc light as well. I have been experiencing this problem for at a month while driving car cutting off. But this is the first time car completely cutting off and lights coming on (service engine, vdc, and slip) the check engine light is still on. My airbag light has been blinking since I took ownership of vehicle in November 2015. The current vehicle miles is 152,000.

17 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 05/30/2015

I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle. This is the second 2004 G35 I've owned and the first one I purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner . . . Although it was a G35x. This is how I know these are in fact failures/defects in this second one. This vehicle has not experienced any recent damage or known problems, yet the last few days every time it has been started, the airbag light is remaining lit for an extended period of time before it decides to go off on the dash. It lingers and then finally goes out. It has been very rainy and humid here for an extended period and we are a state targeted for takata recall, but this vehicle is "not one" allegedly. I fear for my safety! there have also been 2 different incidents of performance failures while driving at low speeds (fortunately) where the car has completely shut down, the dash lit up with the vdc slip and other lights, no steering was available and I was stranded in traffic during rush hour. This is very dangerous. The car would not restart temporarily and I had no choice but to sit until it would restart. This was a danger to myself as well as others. This never happened in my other g with over 230,000 miles on it. The rear passenger window also decided to lower and raise itself on its own. It was taken to the dealer for this issue and the problem wouldn't replicate, of course. The 3rd brake light has been out since around 115,000 miles. Never failed on my G35x in the 230,000 miles. This is an obvious defect on this one and all the other complaints I read. An led shouldn't fail like this or all these others I read. When it's a dealer only item and costs approx. $400 to be installed ~ it should be a recall. Please investigate these issues and help us. I've had 2 . . . Here's proof. .

20 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 01/04/2015

My 2008 Infiniti G35 airbag and passenger airbag lights illuminated. I reset the lights and checked the wiring under the passenger seat but the lights came on again. I took the car to the dealer and and they came up with code b1018, occupant sensor (unit fail) past code. They reset the lights and recommend changing the passenger seat bottom if the lights returned. The cost?. . . . $6137 but they will give me a discount, charging me $4176. This model was recalled for this problem but not my car. . . According to the VIN. My car was manufactured Sep 2007, right in the middle of the recalled vehicles manufactured interval. I believe Infiniti should be required to assume the cost of this expensive repair by including it in the recall.

21 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2003 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 09/04/2014

My vehicle air bag light on. Stays on inspected at dealer. They stated air bag will not work during a possible accident, safety issue.

22 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 03/31/2014

The airbag light in my 2005 Infiniti G35 came on, on or about March 2014. I was told by the dealer it was the harness which was covered under a recall. The harness was repaired and I picked up my car. The airbag light came back on. I took it back to the dealer and was told I needed a new airbag module. I called Infiniti corporate and filed a claim. Infiniti corporate agreed to pay for the airbag module. I took the car back to the dealer and they replaced the airbag module. The light came back on. I took the car back to the dealer and was told I needed a spiral cable, and "that will be $600, let us know when to order the part". I called Infiniti corporate to reopen my claim. I questioned why the airbag light keeps illuminating when the harness and airbag module have been replaced. I was told "sometimes it's a 3 step process". Infiniti corporate later denied the claim stating they replaced the airbag module as a favor and they only allow 1 favor per customer. They also stated they were told the spiral cable may not fix the problem. I have reviewed blogs about the 2005 Infiniti G35 and there are numerous owners who have had the same problem with the airbag and have paid out of pocket but the airbag problem was not resolved. I understand the federal government is also looking at airbag issues with several models of car. I would like you to look into the airbag issue further as clearly the harness (which was recalled) does not resolve the airbag issue on the 2005 Infiniti G35.

23 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 10/11/2013

Passenger airbag light comes on intermittently when passenger who is pretty heavy is sitting on the front passenger seat. They have had a recall for some cars but Infiniti states that my VIN # is not part of the recall.

24 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 08/02/2013

The airbag light came on when I started my vehicle. It is actully the front passenger side airbag turned off considering there was adult in a seat. I checked for the recall and found many similar air bag mulfactions with the same year make and model but Infiniti says it doesn't apply to my particular VIN number. The passenger front seat occupancy sensor went out. At the purchase of my vehicle I bought expensive warranty but it doesn't cover airbag system. I noticed similar complaints on cars. Com website. Who knows what will gona brake when they buy warranty for their vehicle? I would not make a big deal out of this but to fix this small problem I have to spend $3481 because to replace this small sensor I have to buy the whole assembly of the bottom of the passenger seat. This is what Infiniti service manager told me. . Read more...

25 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

My airbag light came on and I had it fixed under the recall. A short while after that, it came back on and was told I needed an airbag module. I find it weird that my vehicle and a lot of other Infiniti G35s have this same problem in this order. Also every time I left dealership, a week after, I realized the they had damaged the brackets that hold the plastic cover to the front of the seats.

26 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/17/2013

My car has the "dtc b1129 or b1134" related to "itb12-034b" and "itb10-036b" but when I called Infiniti dealership, they said that my car's VIN does not apply. It's exactly the issue described on the recall campaign bulletin how does this not apply? it's the deterioration of the terminal connector that increases impedance on the harness and causes the airbag light to come on falsely but it's enough to cost money. Why doesn't the Infiniti dealership do this?.

27 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

28 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

There are no oil leaks or visible smoke from the exhaust. The condition continues to deteriorate. Also passenger side curtain air bag light is illuminated. I had it tested to identify which air bag was defective.

Failure Date: 05/15/2010

2005 Infiniti G35 coupe in may of 2010 an air bag light came on in my car. Dreyer reinbold Infiniti in indianapolis looked at it, said they didn't know what the problem was and needed to replace the whole system for $3000. My car at that time had around 87,000 miles on it and I'm the original owner. Both air bags are not working either. Then in June there was a recall on the air bags on my car. I had it looked at and my car still does not have air bags working. Infiniti of north America says they will not fix the problem as it's not part of the recall. Other than paying their $3000 what can I do? dreyer reinbold has been nothing but a pain to me. Thank you for you help.

32 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 05/14/2010

I had brought my vehicle in for the airbag recall. About 10-15 miles away from the dealer my airbag light went on. I called the dealer and service manager said the mechanic may have forgotten to reset computer and to come back at next service since dealer is not close to home or work. When I brought the csr back to dealer, they said it was not part of the recall but the wiring harness and airbag sensors need to be replaced for $1800. I refused to get it fixed and left. Car has 210000 miles on it and the light is still on.

33 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 03/02/2010

Air bag light keeps coming on 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan. I have taken it multiple times to riverside Infiniti (riverside, CA) for the same occurrence. Their claim is they had to reset the codes for which I was charged for. Once I drove it off their lot, the air bag light once again came back on. I had to exit the freeway to call them back. They told me to bring it back. I turned back around and proceeded back to the Infiniti dealer. On my way back to them, I hit a big piece of wood in the middle of the freeway and damaged the entire right rear of my car. Once I got there , they examined the vehicle and this time they told me the air bag needed to be replaced along with the spiral cable for which I was going to be charged well over $1,300. I refused to pay that amount and I told them that its a safety issue for which they should have covered without any charge. My air bag light has been coming on for the past few years and I have also taken it to stadium Nissan of orange (orange, CA) where they have reset the codes and still the light has come on. Everywhere I turn to, everyone wants to take every little dime from my pocket at my life's expense for not correcting the problem the first time around. Now I hear about the 2005 G35 sedan models air bag light becoming a problem.

34 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 12/20/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan. The contact noticed that the air bag warning indicator sporadically illuminates on the instrument control panel. This indicates that the passenger side air bag is inoperative and could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 08v521000 (electrical system: software) and immediately called the dealer. After inspection, a technician stated that she did not need to have her vehicle repaired because it passed the test signal between the OCS and acu systems. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer and they stated that the recall was no longer mandated. It must be changed from a recall to an optional voluntary campaign from the manufacturer. The manufacturer would not assist. The failure mileage was 1,000 and current mileage was 23,500.
