Side/window Air Bag Problems of Infiniti G35

When passenger sits in front seat, airbag deactivates. Infiniti diagnosed code as b1018 and wants $7k to replace seat cushion assembly. Infiniti refuses to acknowledge safety defect as part of their recall program by saying my VIN is not affected. The passenger side airbag deactivates after sitting in front seat for about a minute.

My airbag trouble light appears on my display and I am concerned for my safety as a resukt of faulty airbags and/or connectors. About 2 years ago, the same airbag trouble light was illuninated and the problem was diagnosed as airbag connectors that needed to be replaced. I was told this related to side airbags. The repair xost more than $700. I asked if there were related recalls and was told no by the dealer.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Infiniti G35. While being driven, the vehicle shook and smoke appeared from the dashboard. While the contact was attempting to stop the vehicle, the front driver and passenger side air bags deployed without warning or an impact. The contact was able to safely pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light would illuminate and flash off and on. In addition the passenger side air bag sensor light would remain illuminated while operating the vehicle with or with out a passenger seated there. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer orlando Infiniti (4237 millenia blvd orlando FL. ) who diagnosed that the passenger seat occupant sensor was faulty and the front passenger side seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,100. Jft.

There is a issue with the air bag system in the manufactured cars and trucks made by the Nissan corparation. A call back was issued for the passenger side air bags but not the driver side steering column. A coil located internal within the steering column is defect and will not allow the air bag to deploy in an emergency. Safety of the driver should be the primary issue when a company puts their name on a product like a motor vehicle. There are only two safety features located for the drivers safety. Please address my concerns by issuing a call back on the Nissan vehicles that have this defect for the drivers safety thank you respectfully.

Car accelerated after coming to a standstill in parking bay ran over curb hit a tree. And went down an embankment. The passenger airbag deployed but the drivers side airbag did not.

The contact is not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 63,100. Am.

The front passenger side air bag turned off while driving despite adult in seat. Checked for recalls & founds 2 for similar air bag malfunctions in same make & model but Nissan says doesn't apply to my particular VIN number. I noticed slimier complaints on safecar. Gov website.

The driver owned a 2003 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that the driver was traveling at an unknown speed in rainy weather when the vehicle hydroplaned. As a result, the vehicle went airborne and crashed head first into the pavement. The front passenger side air bag deployed, but the front driver side air bag did not. The driver was taken to the hospital via ambulance for rib injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an insurance lot. The insurance company stated to the contact that the front driver side air bag should have deployed upon impact. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and the current mileages were unknown.

I was driving my 2008 Infiniti G35 through a heavy rainstorm at 11:30 am, going east on glade rd. , boca raton, FL. , in the middle lane at approximately 35 mph, when a car in the left lane of this three lane rd. , cut me off. I hit the brakes hard and my brakes completely locked up, putting me into a skid onto the right swale and my car, skidding violently, smashed into a tree. Although the car hit the tree almost head-on, only the left front side air bag went off. The steering wheel bag never went off. I was wearing my seat belt, and the my chest was smashed against the air bag straps and left me with severe welts and terrible pain for over two months. My right tibia and fibula were broken and displaced. Two surgeries and three months in a cast and bed-ridden, I am finally doing much better. I notified Nissan that the front air-bag and the anti-lock braking system never activated. They did a cursory investigation and said nothing went wrong. I know that's not true. I never once felt any pulsing from the brakes after my application, and the non-working steering wheel air bag speaks for itself.

On July 7, 2009 our 2008 Infiniti G35 sedan (v1) was involved in a front end collision with the rear end of a non-moving truck (v2). Estimated speed was anywhere from 25-45 mph (speed limit of the road is 45mph). Police were called to scene. Ambulance was called for injuries to driver and passenger of v2. Driver of v1 declined treatment. Driver of v1 later complained of dizziness, neck pain. V1 was un-drivable and towed from the scene. Airbags did not deploy on v1. Upon review, a recall is in effect for the year, make and model of v1 for "lack" of airbag deployment. Upon contacting Infiniti to explore the recall issued in 2008 on v1, Infiniti reps stated that the VIN number of v1 was not included in the recall. Upon conversations with repair service and others, these persons were surprised that the airbags did not deploy, with the severity of the front end crash. Our concern is that the current state of v1 is unsafe for future operation and the reliability of the deployment of the airbags is uncertain.

The contact owns a 2004 Infiniti G35. While driving in reverse at 1 mph, the two side air bags deployed. There was no impact, crash, or warning lights prior to the failure. The air bag light began flashing after the failure occurred. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and is currently being inspected. The current and failure mileages were 50,000.

While driving 60 mph, the driver was hit from the side. The side air bags did not deployed. The driver sustained minor injuries. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection.
