9 Warning Light On problem of the 2008 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 02/04/2014

According to the us government, Infiniti recalled 2008 G35 for passenger side air bag problem associated with a sensor in the front passenger seat. Air bag warning light on the dash board keeps blinking. The dealer said the recall has to be VIN specific, and thus my car was not subject to the recall. Isn't a recall caused by a common or generic problem that exists in most of if not all cars of same model and same year? in this case 2008 G35? dealer said I should pay for the repair first and then seek refund from Infiniti. $3500 out of my pocket and take a chance? so how do I go about getting vic specific recall?.

14 Warning Light On problem of the 2008 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 10/25/2012

When the passenger seat is occupied by an adult (150 lbs+), the passenger airbag warning light will sometimes illuminate indicating that the passenger airbag has been disabled. Infiniti has been involved with repairing the car 4 times for this issue. At this point they are no longer willing to further investigate the issue and say it is working as intended even though the light intermittently illuminates. The Infiniti dealer acknowledged that there is a design defect and maintained that Infiniti?s position is that the passenger needs to continue to adjust their seating position until the airbag indicator turns off (jump up and down, sit further upright, etc). The light can remain illuminated for as long as 10-15 minutes before finally being able to get the passenger airbag to be operable. This problem is intermittent, but again, Infiniti refuses to work on the car even though it is under warranty. I?m concerned that in the event of an accident, the passenger airbag is not working as intended and may not deploy as indicated by the passenger airbag warning light.

15 Warning Light On problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 06/20/2012

I own a 2005 Infiniti G35x. The air bag warning lamp illuminates intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed that the passenger seat air bag sensor was defective and needed to be replaced, an estimated repair cost of $1200 was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who refused to provided any assistance since the vehicle had already been repaired under recall NHTSA campaign number: 10v175000 (air bags, seats), but clearly the vehicle was never repaired. Investigation of the Infiniti user forum will clearly indicate that airbag failure (post recall) is very common in this particular model, while Infiniti/Nissan is continually ignoring the issue. After reading all the complaints in the forums and the NHTSA website, I believe that Infiniti/Nissan never repaired the cars under the recall, but merely disabled the warning light during the recall repair visit. The initial failure mileage was approximately at 65000 miles. The failure happens intermittently. The current mileage is 89600. I request NHTSA to investigate in the matter and help the consumers from an impending fatal disaster.

19 Warning Light On problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 06/16/2009

In June of 2009, the air bag warning light came on. It was served at the dealer (replaced driver side air bag module costing $735. 50). In October 2010, I was notified of a recall concerning the air bags on my car. No warning lights were illuminated, but I took it to the dealer and they made repairs at no cost. I notified infinite consumer affairs about having repairs made to the driver's air bag prior to the recall and they reimbursed my initial cost ($735. 50). The air bag warning light began flashing again April 6, 2011. When I called the dealer, they said it was safe to drive and just bring it in when I could. I took it to the dealer on April 11, 2011, and they diagnosed the problem being with the air bag module on the passenger's side at a cost of $487. 82 to repair it. They said it had nothing to do with the recall of 2010 and would not offer any financial assistance at this time (yet I was reimbursed for the driver side air bag repair after the 2010 recall). They reset the light and it is no longer flashing. I told them I wanted the repair and did not think it was safe to drive a vehicle with faulty air bags. They said they are ordering the parts and will notify me when they come in. They also said the flashing light would eventually come back on. I have spoken with infinite consumer affairs and opened a case #xxxxxxx. After researching this issue, it appears to be a reoccurring problem with this make and model. I can't understand how these issues are not related. I am concerned about the safety of the car if it was involved in an accident before it is repaired. I wonder if infinite is being forthright about the air bag issues. I wonder how many others are affected.
