Infiniti G35 owners have reported 5 problems related to battery dead (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Cd player stopped working, unable to retrieve cd's, error message. Later radio and a/c controls went out. Check engine soon light came on and speedometer not working. Called Infiniti in sarasota, was told to bring car in, I did. Happened again within a few months, was told by Infiniti they could not find anything wrong, they reset sensor. A few months later, radio went out again, a/c at 60 degrees, cannot lower temperature, cannot turn on/off from dashboard; radio works from the steering wheel only. Problem caused battery to go dead, called aaa, was told something draining battery; told of electrical problems, advised electrical problem maybe the reason. Once battery purchased, advised again battery may go out due to electrical problem draining battery. Went online, found numerous complaints. Called Infiniti again, told my VIN # may not be listed. Cost approximately $1,200. 00 or more to fix this problem. Called Infiniti/Nissan corporate office, told my VIN number not on recall list. Informed them of problem, purchase of new battery due to electrical problem, and what may happen again regarding new battery. Rep advised nothing they can do. Told I can pay, and if a recall later with my VIN number , I can be reimbursed with proof of repair with Infiniti. As of this writing, I am still unable to turn on/off defrost, heater, a/c, cd player, cassette player, or radio; none of the controls on dashboard are operable. This is dangerous in so many ways in terms of road safety; defrost not working (unable to defrost windows for vision while driving); draining battery; hazardous due temperature controls that can cause a person to freeze while in my car, and a financial hardship. I pray an investigation initiated due to electrical problems by manufacturer, not caused by the consumer; that the resolution is fair and just for all, and not just by selected VIN numbers only.

On March 11 my 2004 infinity G35x experienced a complete alarming system failure. The power steering failed, the brakes failed, in fact every component not running on the battery failed. The dash warning lights looked like christmas lights. I was driving at the time. Fortunately I was on a side street, and not a highway. The dealer diagnosed a p-0340 code and replaced bank 1, cam sensor. This vehicle has just over 41,000 miles and is out of the warranty period. I noticed on-line that this part was part of a voluntary recall in model years 2003 and 2005, but not my year, but also that the failures reported were at approximately the same mileage as my vehicle. This could have resulted in a catastrophic accident had I been on a street with more traffic as I had only brute force control over the brakes and steering. My impression at the dealer was that they were very familiar with the display of warnings on my dash panel. The diagnosis took very little time, the repair was costly, the experience was extremely memorable.

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. After the battery failed, he noticed that the steering wheel would not turn and the rear trunk could not be opened. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that nothing could be done to remedy the failure. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 10000.

2003 Infiniti G35 sedan battery was dead after not starting vehicle for more than 3 days. The cd player is the culprit and the "eject" continues to cycle even with the car turned off. This is the second time in 4 months that the new battery is dead after sitting for a few days.
Apparently standard problem with 2003 Infiniti G35. . . Bose amplifier draws considerable current when car is turned off. If car isn't started for 2 days, battery is dead. I just became aware of this problem today. Dealer -- who clearly knew the problem existed last year -- sold me new battery, and never mentioned this standard problem. That battery, purchased 7/23/07 was dead Thursday 6/26/08 and again Wednesday, 7/2/08.
