I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle. This is the second 2004 G35 I've owned and the first one I purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner . . . Although it was a G35x. This is how I know these are in fact failures/defects in this second one. This vehicle has not experienced any recent damage or known problems, yet the last few days every time it has been started, the airbag light is remaining lit for an extended period of time before it decides to go off on the dash. It lingers and then finally goes out. It has been very rainy and humid here for an extended period and we are a state targeted for takata recall, but this vehicle is "not one" allegedly. I fear for my safety! there have also been 2 different incidents of performance failures while driving at low speeds (fortunately) where the car has completely shut down, the dash lit up with the vdc slip and other lights, no steering was available and I was stranded in traffic during rush hour. This is very dangerous. The car would not restart temporarily and I had no choice but to sit until it would restart. This was a danger to myself as well as others. This never happened in my other g with over 230,000 miles on it. The rear passenger window also decided to lower and raise itself on its own. It was taken to the dealer for this issue and the problem wouldn't replicate, of course. The 3rd brake light has been out since around 115,000 miles. Never failed on my G35x in the 230,000 miles. This is an obvious defect on this one and all the other complaints I read. An led shouldn't fail like this or all these others I read. When it's a dealer only item and costs approx. $400 to be installed ~ it should be a recall. Please investigate these issues and help us. I've had 2 . . . Here's proof. .

Purchased car, used, 6/2011. Was told it was a owner buy back due to it not starting. Finance manager guaranteed problem had been fixed. In September 2011 car started hesitating to start-requiring me to let my foot off brake/clutch. Instrument panel would illuminate but car would not start. It could take up to 6 times of the brake/clutch easement for car to start. On 11/19/11 I brought car in to atlantic Infiniti to get another key made and to inform them radio would not hold a station (fade) and would not pick up stations. I returned 1/5/12 due to radio still not functioning. I also informed them of the brake/clutch issue. Dealership could not find anything wrong with radio but d a part in the clutch was replaced. Radio continued to function improperly. 1/27/12 car would not start. Headlights would not come on, unable to unlock trunk and intelligent key would not work. Car towed to orlando Infiniti. My car was at dealership till 2/6/12. Dealership addressed radio and replaced antenna amphifier & replaced clutch pedal position. Days later radio started malfunctioning again. 2/23/11 car would not start. As before, no lights, could not unlock car nor trunk. Aaa called & they could not start car. Car was jump started & diagnostic test performed. Nothing was found. Car driven home and it was towed to orlando Infiniti the next day. As of today, 3/6/12, car still at dealership and they can not find anything wrong. I believe the electrical system is malfunctioning, particularly the ground. I have asked Infiniti to check this but they have not. I no longer trust this car and Infiniti is not being proactive. They are waiting for my car to not start to research issue. Their statement to me "we go out everyday and start it". I have put in several calls to Infiniti USA and have not received a return call.

Something was draining the battery in the electrical system. One day while trying to start the car after it had been sitting for a few days, everything flickered (headlights, dashlights, control panel) and then the car wouldn't start. Charged the battery and then the radio, ac/heater/defroster did not work properly. Have seen many similar complaints on the internet.
I have a G35 2003 and had to replace the radio 28041-am883 circuit board on 5/10/07 (it was under warranty at that time). Also, when I was traveling up north the car would not start last winter I took it to a independent repair shop and they disconnected the radio - charge the battery - and it works fine now. Today 06/30/09 I am having exactly the same problem as I did in 2007 - the air is running a full blast and I have no control over it or my radio. Something needs to be done and Infiniti is will aware of the problem as are all the dealership!! all they are doing is raking in more money for a defective part - I believe there should be a recall on this circuit and Infiniti should be fined!!.
