Electrical System Problems of Infiniti G35 - part 1

The fuel gauge in my Infiniti G35x is malfunctioning and does not show the correct fuel levels. As a result, my vehicle has unexpectedly run out of fuel multiple times, causing it to stop on the side of the road. This poses a significant safety risk as it can lead to sudden and dangerous situations for both myself and other drivers. Stopping on the side of the road in such conditions can also result in potential traffic violations. This issue needs to be addressed to ensure safer driving.

Complete center console not working. Stuck on auto a/c with no way to defrost windshield and it was raining. No modes work, no cd, no radio, no heat, no defrost- front or rear. I have already had this happen before, replaced motherboard and it cost me 1200. 00 and that was in 2011. Now it has happened again. This is very unsafe. I had my children with me and it started raining and we couldnt get the windshield or rear to defrost so I couldnt see. Why arent all 2003's covered under the recall?????.

Fuel gauge in instrument cluster malfunctioned, inaccurately reading more than half full. This caused me to run out of gas on a public road. In addition to the risk of becoming a stationary road hazard, I lost power brakes and steering when the gas ran out which caused me to almost hit the car in front of me. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealship or service center, however I had the sending units replaced which a mechanic said would fix the issue and it didn't. The gauge is still inaccurate. I have not had the cluster inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. I have researched the issue myself and learned that the cluster is commonly defective, I also have an intermittent left turn signal. There was a check engine light (p0462) intermittently on, which was temporarily fixed by replacing the sending units but has since come back. I don't know when they first appeared.

My heater and ac lights kicks on and off causing my windows to fog making it easy to have an accident. There is a ticking as well but no lights.

I am having issues with the fuel system, gas gauge doesn’t read correctly, my car doesn’t allow me to put in more than $2 of fuel every few minutes, I have been stranded on the road twice now because the gauge doesn't read correctly, I have replaced everything to replace and the problem still persists, this is unsafe and very unfortunate to have to deal with.

The inspection shows there is bondo filler placed in rotten holes and sprayed with black spray paint (underbody cover up). Oil leaks, drive shaft problem. Right front axle, steering rack leak, knock sensor, rear shocks, oil filter housing leak. 11/2/21 I bring the vehicle to Infiniti dealer 150 weston st hartford CT 06120 chris salemi (860) 524-1993 ext. 6217 the diagnosis the car is unsafe, will not pass a safety inspection, will not pass emission, multi leaks, oil cooler seal, incorrect trans line, clamps leaking, axle seal, valve cover, cam sensor, right axle inner joint is failing coming apart, bondo filler in rotten holes sprayed black and structural damage. 11/6/21 I went to hot wheels and talked with terry [xxx] and chris orzulak . Terry offered $2,000 for the car which is not a fair price. Then terry stated he will call his welder. 11/10/21, I drove the car to standard welding 212 prospect st east hartford CT 06108. Rick (860) 528-9628 is the person I talked with. Rick called chris with no response from chris. Rick says take the car back until he talks to chris. 11/10/21 chris calls me stating bring the car back to standard welding 11/15/21 or 11/16/21. 11/16/21, I brought the vehicle to rick. Rick nor I had any clear clarification about hot wheels not paying for the rotted holes, just the structural part. I called chris. Rick and I talked with chris. There was a problem with rick / chris for the cost$3,500. 00. Chris says bring the car. I bring the car to hot wheels chris states he's done. I ask for a refund and I didn’t receive one . I was at stop light and G35 jolted. At the next light the car completely turned off and all the power of the car went dead. Nothing was lit at all. Had a power boost with jumper cables and the car started right up. Luckily I was a few blocks away from the house, but it was scary since my kids were in the car and the car turned off crossing the intersection. The car turns on, but I am not trusting in driving it anywhere. There is not check engine light on or warning. I was told battery was fine a c1109 code came up, stating low voltage. Possible issues with the abs or crank position sensor, which under o1v357 recall, these cars were impacted, but this Infiniti was not included, and it should have been. I exclusively took auto to Infiniti for maintenance until around 2018 and I never had them mention anything to me about these issues.

Been having problems lately with the engine light coming on and the slip and vdc light also.

While I was traveling on the highway at 70mph, the glass from my sunroof flew off of my vehicle onto on coming traffic. There is no active recall for this and it seems that may other people have had this same issue.

05 G35 auto sedan. Gas gauge not reading amount of gas correctly for the last 5 years. Wasted over 900$ in parts. New and used to try and get it fixed. Nothing worked. Replaced fuel pump, level sender units and instrument clusters 3 time. Upset NHTSA and mfr. Are not recalling to fix this issues. A lot of vehicles having same life threatening problems. Folks in forums and youtube and social medias all talking about it, but yet no one's doing anything. After three times my car stalled on me I had enough, because it's matter of time when the next one end in deadly consequences. 1st time car ran out of gas on highway 99 and a car behind me almost hit me from behind. The gas at the time was reading 1/4 and no low gas indicator lights up. Car shudder with no acceleration when gas pedal is press down. Then all electrical and power went out with no control except for hard steering. I managed to pull to shoulder from the car pool lane before car died. Luckily there weren't many cars on the freeway that moment it started dying on me. 2nd time it happened on the main street and same symptoms as first time as above. Then I looked at my gas gauge and it says 1/2 full! but car ran out of gas and again I managed to pull to a safe area away from traffics. Only this time I was thinking I had enough gas bc it was reading 1/2 of gas left in the tank. But no gas indicator lighted up and car spudder and all lights on dashboard came on and eventually came to slow down and died. I kept trying to start the car but all it did was just crank and cranks, but doesn't turnover and start. 3rd time it happened to me on the highway again. This time a car came within 1ft. Of ramming me from behind as it swerved away honking at me when my car ran out of gas. I looked at gas gauge and was reading 3/4 full and again no low gas indicator lights up. Same symptoms as previous 2 occasions. Please recall.

On 5 different occasions now the rear passenger window went down on it's own without me touching the switch and when I go to put it back up it will not go. I have to unplug the battery wait 30 seconds and then plug it back for it to work. After the second time that it happened I went to the car shop and they charged me $700 to fix the motor then 2 weeks later it happened again. The fifth time and final straw that it happened was today on 6/12/2020 when I had my 1 year old daughter in car on the highway doing 70 on the interstate and it went down and all that wind hit her face and she starts crying and I cant do anything about it because there is no shoulder where I was at and it was another 10 minutes before the next exit so now I am making a complaint for it now.

My gas gauge doesn’t read correctly, I’ve replaced the required parts that should have fixed the problem but it still doesn’t read right, after some research I found it was a cluster problem and so I don’t ever know how much gas I have, I ran out of gas on the road and was stranded for 2 hours waiting for help this is not safe and it is very terrifying to not know where the gas level is at. The vehicle also doesn’t take gas correctly. Every pump clicks the fuel shut off every 2 seconds. I’m sure it’s related to my gas gauge.

Driving on highway 50 my way to work the following dash lights came on vdc off, abs, slip. After pulling over to examine what was wrong I discovered I had no brake lights & the 10 amp brake fuse had blown. I then got back in my car to drive to a parts store & the shift lock wouldn't disengage. So I manually engaged the shift lock & drove to the parts store & replaced the fuse but the dash lights were still on so I began to drive home & the brakes became tighter & wouldnt release & they eventually were completely locked with all 4 so hot they were smoking so I parked it. The next day I went to drive to a mechanic & the brakes had released but the more I drove they started engaging on their own without releasing & became hot again so I parked it again. Basically after it sets the brakes release but after driving for a short distance 2-5 miles they they begin to engage & not release causing them to overheat. I've searched the internet for solutions & it appears numerous people have had the same problem & some have had a short in a brake wire harness & others have replaced speed sensors or abs pumps but they can't tell which caused thw problem since it's intermittent. I believe this is a safety issue because I was in motion on a highway with a tractor trailor behind me & my brakes began engaging on their own & I was terrified of being rear ended & possibly killed. Now I'm afraid to drive my vehicle because I dont know if it will happen again or how to fix it.

My car has been stalling while driving at low speed. Several warning lights come up (check engine light, slip light, battery light) and then the engine shuts down completely. Upon placing the car in park, I am able to re-start it. This is a major safety issue. I believe my car is part of recall number 03v455000 - engine and engine cooling. However, my VIN is not part of the recall, but I am experiencing the same issues associated with this recall. This needs to be re-addressed. I have children, and I am worried that this issue can cause an accident, especially while I am driving on the freeway. I have seen various similar complaints related to this issue with Infiniti.

While your driving you lose control of heating controls. It was raining and I had to defrost windows. Well it started heating the floor and I could not control where to direct heat. And note the radio doesn't work when it occurs as well.

11/28/2019: the navigation system/center stack reset and immediately after all the dash lights lit up and the vehicle went into limp mode. The vehicle was blocks away from home and we were able to drive it back without issue. Took it to an Infiniti dealer who said it was transmission related. Repairs were declined as this did not sound accurate and I wanted a second opinion. Transmission shop looked it over and found nothing wrong with the transmission. An independent shop also looked it over and could not find anything wrong. 7/1/2020: the center stack turned off and back on and car engine died. The vehicle was pulled over. Most warning lights were on and the air conditioning was on full blast and couldn't turn it off. Tried to turn the car off and it wouldn't turn off. The engine kept running. Drove the vehicle home and the speedometer was inop and all lights were on but car seemed to drive ok at that moment. Once home the car wouldn't turn off. You'd press the button and the dash lights would turn off but the engine would keep running. Eventually got it turned off. Then couldn't start it back up. Eventually got it started and only had first gear. Brought it back home, fought with turning it off and then back on. Finally got it running and it drove fine. Let the vehicle sit several days and drove it to an independent shop on 7/8/2020. On the way to the shop it drove fine but the check engine light was on. I feel there is some type of electrical issue going on with the vehicle. I can report back once the shop has more time to try and diagnose a problem, but a car randomly turning off is a major cause of concern.

My Infiniti climate control has quit working which has left me with a car with no heat or defrost unable to drive in the winter. Their was a recall on many 2003 G35 but I have been told that my car isnt covered. Seems too much of a coincidence my car is doing exact complaint on many other cars.

The charger port had some sort of malfunction and my car was burned to the frame. It was parked in my drive way and had been since 8:00 p. M police officers where coming in my front door at around 2:00 a. M. My car was engulfed in flames.

The complete console lighting has gone out in my car. It only works when the exterior lights are off. Not able to drive at night and difficult to drive during daylight due to not being able to see the speedometer. Very much a safety issue.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The contact was told to call the NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000. The contact owns a 2007 Infiniti G35x. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to george harte Infiniti (1076 s colony rd, wallingford, CT 06492, (203) 495-6700) where it was diagnosed that the occupant classification system control unit needed to be replaced at the cost of $5,500 for parts and labor. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

Stero and climate control into. Can't control stero from steering wheel. A/c stuck on high. Occurred while driving. I stopped , when I got back in car and started it radio and ac controls were gone. The month or so prior the cd player quit and radio would pop in and out.

2003 Infiniti G35 air-conditioning unit suddenly will not turn off. Unable to turn on the defroster because of this making visibility poor and very dangerous at times. Radio will not turn on. This is widespread problem with this vehicle but nothing is being done about it.

Fuel gauge is all over the place. Recently ran out of gas while gaige showed 3/4 full.

Was driving my car and the ac and stereo button lights went out, the ac was then stuck on full blast at 70 degrees and could not be shut off or changed and the stereo was inoperable as well.

�tamara recall� my radio and complete column to adjust ac went out. There was a recal for my same year and model vehicle, but Infiniti is saying my VIN isn't covered. I took the steps to have the recall my fixed by a licensed mechanic and still nothing works. It is a safety hazard as I have a young child and the car only blows heat. In CA it it still very hot right now and cannot afford another vehicle.

My car has started stalling while driving, while driving! I have gone to the dealer to have issue fixed, once I get it fixed it happens again, and then the dealer says it might be something else. I have a small child and its terrifying knowing that if I'm on the highway my car will stall or anywhere for that matter. It's been happening for weeks, started at very low speeds and as of yesterday the engine shut off, no steering while going at a higher speed, I could have easily been in a wreck, or even killed someone walking. It's unsafe! there are many forums online regarding this issue with Infiniti vehicles and they don't care. Lawsuit waiting to happen.

My fuel gauge is always acting very wacky and is almost never displays the correct amount of fuel. My headlights are always very dim and don't seem like they need to be replaced. My suspension arm bushing are making a lot of noise.

The fuel gauge is not reading correctly, and I have to rely on knowing my mileage and how much I last filled in my tank. I have to keep the car running longer than necessary to even duplicate the problem, and when I do the gas gauge just suddenly starts dropping. And if for some reason I even let my gas get low enough to have the low fuel lamp come on, it's almost too late and I barely make it to a gas station. I have not had the issue reproduced/confirmed by any independent servicer. I have seen in many G35 forums that this is an issue that has not had a recall yet. All of the other models for Nissan/Infiniti 2005 were recalled for the fuel sensor in 2010, but not the G35/g37 model. If this keeps happening I will eventually be involved in an accident when my gas runs out unexpectedly on the highway.
