39 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 01/25/2013

The vehicle started hesitating and stalling for no apparent reason. I would be driving for variable amounts of time, from 5 to 20 minutes, when the engine power would just cut out. This was at stoplights, while doing highway speeds, and everything in-between, there does not seem to be any consistent reason. Based on research on various websites, it appears to be a camshaft or crankshaft sensor. Only the sensor, not any mechanical failure. This is a serious and dangerous flaw when a sensor causes your vehicle to stop working while driving in rush hour traffic and other highly dangerous times.

48 Car Stall problem of the 2005 Infiniti G35

Failure Date: 10/01/2005

I purchased a 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan with the "revup" motor, new with 6 miles on it. I don't have a dealer around me so on my first oil change I went to a local oil place and had the recommended oil and filter installed, that was @ 3000 miles. With around 4,800 miles on it I noticed a loud valve lashing sound coming from the engine when it was cold started, I shut it off and checked the oil, nothing on the stick. Put in one qt. , nothing 2qts. , nothing finally on the third qt. It registered a qt. Low. I was four qts. Low! I jumped onto the main 350z and G35 message boards and there it was many many people with the same problem. After reading about people on their third engine having the same problems I decided to bite the bullet and have the rebuild done by a local shop. When the motor was broke apart I was appalled every piston had sustained damage. All of the ring lands were fractured and a couple were completely broke off. The way that I see it I spent 7000 dollars to find out what the problem is and I think I know!!! ps I do have multiple pictures of the pistons if you need it. Kp.
