Brake Disc Pads problems of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee

Five problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2015

I was at a stop sign, proceeded to accelerate, arriving at a stop-light when vehicle would not stop, brake pedal was pushed all the way to floor, pedal seemed to have no leverage to it. I coasted to a safe place to pull over, had to use emergency brake to stop. Checked all fluids and pads, those components seemed to be fine. And had to get vehicle towed it was unsafe to drive.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2003

The consumer has to replace the front rotors and pads. The consumer is concerned that vehicle is not on recall because it was not purchased in one of the states for recall #00v136000. However, vehicle is experiencing the same problems.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 11/29/1999

Brake rotors, caliper and pads worn out. Yh.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 07/09/1999

Front brake rotors and pads wearing out frequently causing the steering wheel and column to vibrate .

5 Brake Disc Pads problem

Front brake pads and rotors are prematurely wearing which has resulted in poor braking ability. When brakes are applied a very unusual noise occurs, and pedal at times goes to the floor. Please give any further details.
