Vehicle brake rotors found to be rusted severely. During a free brake check the technician determined that the rotors were severely rusted and disintegrated. This set of rotor were the replacement put on by the dealer for the recall. The vehicle has had 2 sets of rotors in five years. The consumer contacted the manufacturer for reimbursement.

The front rotors vibrated violently when attempting to stop from any speed, resulting in extended stopping distance.

1999 Jeep grand Cherokee experiencing problems with bad rotors. The consumer experienced a severe shudder in the steering while attempting to brake at speeds of 45 mph. As a result the rotors were replaced on oct 9, 2002. Shortly thereafter the rotors went bad again and were replaced on may 8, 2003, June 9, 2003, Mar 5, 2004 and June 2004. On July 8, 2004 the rotors were replaced with the new upgrade package at the consumers expense, however 9 months later the severe shudder returned.

10 Brake Disc Rotor problem

While driving at 65mph, the brakes began to grind, and the wheel bearing on both sides were making noise. The consumer states that both front hub bearings and axle seals were replaced at the dealer. The rotors were completely destroyed with the factory pads intact. The pad were still good. The rotors however were so thin that they crumbled(very dangerous). Now the rear hubs are loud an need replacing. The consumer has replaced the rear wheel bearing, and the bearings on the rear axle in the hub are seperated/extremely dangerous-part of the bearing are spinning in the inside of the hub.

Brakes/rotors originally failed at 13,242 miles and dealer replaced as a "good will " gesture. Brakes/rotors again failed or warped out of round at 29,569 miles and dealer was requiring me to pay in full. After much arguing dealer suggested to reduce owner costs to half, but still insisted that problem was misuse of vehicle.

Received recall notice 00v136000. Contacted dealer, and took vehicle in for repairs. Old rotors were replaced with new golden brown rotors. New rotors would chug or drag when brakes were applied. Contacted mechanic, and informed consumer will not replace pads or rotors. New rotors were defective due to being coated.

Rotors are corroding, but there is nothing wrong with brakes. Vehicle is not part of recall 00v136000/ manufacturer's recall 879, and dealer is not making any agreements for coverage. The consumer was seeking reimbursement of $ 225 for replacement of two rotors.

While traveling on highway brake rotors warped at every 12,000 miles, and vehicle shook when applying brakes. Dealership was aware of problem.

Rotors went bad only 18,000 miles on vehicle. Consumer has taken vehicle in for rotors twice. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything. Brakes pulsate when applying brakes. Right front and left front brake rotors were replaced. The left speaker cuts out over bumps.

Both front factory brake rotors warped causing brakes to pulsate when braking to a stop. The dealer replaced the rotors twice and it continues to pulsate after about 6,000 miles.

Front brake rotors and calipers had to be replaced for the third time. TSB # 05 033 02 was issued by the manufacturer but they would not repair the brakes. The front brake rotors were replaced by the dealer under warranty. The consumer replaced at own expense. At 56k miles, the brakes needed to be replaced again. When the brakes were applied lightly, the steering wheel vibrated severely and was hard to control.

Consumer could feel a flutter. Rotor s were pulsing real heavily and pulling to the left. Took to dealer at 14000 miles, and they would not repair because of the warranty, consumer feels this vehicle is unsafe to drive, especially on highway. Vehicles manufactured through October 15 of 1998 were covered under the recall but this vehiclewas built on November 21,1998 therefore this vehicle was not covered by the recall.

Brake rotors are experiencing the same problems as discussed in manufacturer's recall 10578. As a result of defective rotors, vehicle vibrated severely. Rotors have been fixed by dealer twice. Manufacturer has advised consumer that this VIN# was not apart of the recall.

Vehicle experiencing problem with vibration whenever brakes are applied. Dealer notified, and turned front rotors. Problem stopped and reoccurred again at 3000 miles. Vehicle back at the dealer, and they are turning the rotors again. Problem apperea again, and dealer replaced the rotors.

Since 37,000 miles, rotors were warped, with braking pulsation-machined. #2 warped rotors within 3 mo. New rotors. Warped rotors within 3 mo. Rotors machined-new brake pads. Another three months rotors warped. And grinding noice when brake pedal fully engaged. Believe a design flaw to be present causing the rotors to warp continually. This manifests into pulsation when braking more often than not.

33 Brake Disc Rotor problem

The rotors failed causing a shimmy in the vehicle, dealer has also refaced the front brakes, consumer states now the brakes are shimmying again and dealer stated problem was with the back brakes . Nlm.

Consumer contacted dealer for routine brake work when dealer noticed front brake rotors were corroded. Same issue was stated in NHTSA recall 00v136000/ manufacturer's recall 879. Manufacturer and dealer stated this vehicle was not included due to VIN. Please provide any further details.

Every 10,000-15,000 miles rotors will warp, causing vehicle to violently shake when applying brakes at a high rate of speed.
