14 problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While braking any speed brake pedal pulsated. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

On the recall notice for defects to the front brake it is worded as some 1996-1999 Jeep Cherokee and 1996-1998 Jeep grand Cherokee. I have a sport and am having the same brake problems as my family member who has a grand Cherokee.
Brakes vibrate while slowing down. Consumer has been back and forth to dealer for same problem.
Husband drove vehicle and noticed that the steering wheel was vibrating when brakes were applied. Contacted the dealer, dealer stated vehicle was not covered under warranty.
Vehicle experiencing problem with vibration whenever brakes are applied. Dealer notified, and turned front rotors. Problem stopped and reoccurred again at 3000 miles. Vehicle back at the dealer, and they are turning the rotors again. Problem apperea again, and dealer replaced the rotors.
Abs brakes had to be replaced. Also, replaced front brake rotors, and 4-wheel drive locking hubs.
Vehicle was involed in sudden acceleration while drivingon hwy at approximately 55 mph. As soon as driver lifted foot off brake pedal, vehicle suddenly took off out of control, hit a parked vehicle before stopping. Upon impact, both air bags failed to deploy. Dealer notified. Can NHTSA help in this matter.
Sunroof: in the full open position, between 30 & 50mph, with the side windows up, or partially open, a horriffic vibration is felt in the "cabin" which is irritating to the ears, vocal chords, is so bad, that the radio speakers seem like they are ready to break. Dealer refuses to arrange a meeting with Chrysler rep to discuss the problem, which I feel is attributed to a bad design, which Jeep is calling "wind buffeting" in the owners manual, indicating they know there is this problem. The starter failed, and rocking the vehicle to a better spot on the starter allowed it to start, but vehicle is still sluggish starting at times, seeming as though the batter is weak. Jeep will not replace starter until a total failure. Brakes. . Bad vibration due to apparent warped rotors. These are being replaced on warranty without dispute, indicating that Chrysler knows there is a problem with the rotors. This vehicle seems to be the "lemon of the fleet" only giving a maximum of 14. 5mpg, highway, and less in city only, and does not idle smooth.

When brakes are applied they will hesitate to kick in and stop vehicle. . Had brakes replaced several times, but problem reoccurred. This is a common problem with vehicle.
While applying the brakes to the floor board brakes made a high pitch noise. Dealer can't duplicate the problem. Please provide further information.
