When starting my car it did not want to start and then it did and all this happened, check engine light came on, service transmission light 4wd temporally unavailable, service park brake , and it would not go into gear. At auto zone the code stated watchdog performance.
Car stalled out going 25 miles an hour while driving on a side street. Temperature 102 at 3:02pm. Vehicle had only been running less than 30 minutes. All dash lights came on, scrolled thru each service notice {check engine, turn signals, etc. . } after 3rd attempt to restart vehicle, it started. Took 27 minutes. Once started, check engine light was on.
An error that continues to come and go is to service shifter. it is apparent there are moments that the shifter sputters, the car will not shift gears (automatic) and refuse to accelerate. The check engine light also comes on for this. Deal ships do not seem to act aware of this issue, but it seems extremely prevalent online. It appears to be based on a faulty shift in the vehicle or bad wiring. However, the deal ships act like nothing is wrong but will change it for you for around $7,000. The car sputtering and refusing to shift while trying to accelerate is extremely dangerous from faulty components and needs to be investigated. It's clear a recall is needed for this.
While driving 30-55mph on multiple occasions the car lost all powersteering and the engine shut off for no apparent reason! terrifying experience , wouldn't restart for about 15 minutes on the side of the highway with no check engine light set before or after no other driveability problems present during this time.
Check engine light on, warnings auto/start/stop system failure. 4wd temporarily unavailable. Car stalls while in motion. Loses acceleration city and rural driving conditions. Engine knock from premature cam shaft wear.
I was leaving my neighborhood yesterday morning when my Jeep shut off without any warning or check engine lights and would not start. Thankfully I was still close to home and was able to go home in neutral! what if I were on the highway? or in the middle of an intersection! the screen said to put vehicle in park. The radio and lights still work but it does not start. I am financing this Jeep and have had it for 8 months from a dealership. I dont have an extended waranty and I dont know how to handle this. . . I looked up on carcomplaints. Com and found identical complaints to mine of theyre new Jeeps just shutting off mid drive. This needs to ba addressed. Im terrified of this car.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that water was leaking into the vehicle near the accelerator and brake pedal. The contact took the vehicle to key Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram - tobey auto group (2020 n detroit st, xenia, OH 45385; (937) 347-5155) who sealed the location where the leak was coming from. The contact stated about 5 months later, at approximately 36,000 miles, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealers who diagnosed that the thermostat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by a certified mechanic, not the dealer. The contact then stated that about 7 months later at approximately 38,000 miles, the vehicle stalled at a stop light with the check engine warning light illuminated. The instrument panel also displayed the message to service the transmission. The contact contacted the dealer and was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v529000 (power train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
Start and stop function stops working after a couple months start and stop light comes on with check engine light comes on.
I've had to replace my low beams 10+ times this year. They keep shorting our. Also have to have my engine thermostat replaced even though it's working fine. It's electrical keeps causing my check engine light to come on. And the fix is replacing something that is fully working. And because my check engine light is on I can't makw it through deq to get tags for my car. This is the 3rd (separate) electrical problem I've had with this car and I'm done. Keep should stand up for their product.
Check engine light comes on, codes are u1504, u1412, u0001, u1110, u1120, will not shift, 4wd temporary unavailable message comes on , stability traction light comes on, all shifter gear lights are on, this had happened 7 times since I purchased this Jeep, engine has cut a couple of times during all of these issues!.
I parked the Jeep and turned it off and when inside for 10 minutes and started the car to leave and a bunch of lights came on like service engine and drive train. I put it in reverse and a huge clunk from the transmission happened I backed up and put it in forward and a huge clunk happened again. It shocked the whole car. I went forward and it barley would go. It took along time to get up to speed. It kind of shook and was really scarey. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and barely made it. The guy said the techs where all gone for the day. I couldn't leave it there so I started it back up and it worked fine. The check engine light was still on though. The next day I started it up and the light was off. It worked fine for 3 days until it all happened again the same stuff. So I turned it off and started it 10 minutes later and it was fine. It is a leased Jeep and I am going to bring it in this Friday. I want this fixed. I have read lots of the same problems with 100s of other people and it sounds like they are just giving people the run around. This is very unsafe and I want a new Jeep or a new transmission. I do not have any time to be going back to the dealership all the time or do I want to die in a car accident. The next thing that happens a that people are saying is that it will shift out of gear on the freeway and lots of people have almost crashed because of this. Thank you please let me know what you will do about this.
Driving my vehicle over the weekend while in motion on a city street my vehicle turned off and then turned back on, the vehicle turned completely off no power could not do anything the vehicle turned on and was able to continue driving. Where my family and I were extremely nervous the remainder of the time while driving home. Thank god I was not driving on a busy highway where this problem could have caused an accident where my family and myself could have gotten seriously hurt or worse could have killed someone in my vehicle or any other vehicle due to an accident. When the vehicle turned on again the check engine light came on and the start and stop system light came on advising to have the system checked, the rest of the time the vehicle was being driven home it constantly sounded like it was going to loose power and turn off.
Purchased brand new- at 20k miles had to have the gear shift motherboard replaced after the vehicle began to jolt when driving almost causing a wreck. It would jolt when coming to a stop or taking off. I was told it was the electrical component not relaying properly to tell the car to shift gears and what gear to shift to. I read several online forums where hundreds of people were having the same issue. That was in Aug of 2016. Now im having to take it in again because the check engine light is on. I do all maintenance service on time so not sure what the issue is this time but very upset that my 1st brand new car and I am experiencing issues so early on. Once I take it in for the check engine light I will update this to reflect what I am told is the problem.
I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport 2. 4l 4cyl. I bought it new in September of 2015. The original warranty is for 36,000 miles and at 41,000 miles, my check engine light came on. The Jeep would not warm up and blew luke warm air on the hottest setting. There was also a dripping sound heard from behind the front dashboard. Before I had the opportunity to take it in to the dealership for diagnosis, the electronic throttle control (etc) warning light came on. Driving your Jeep with the etc light on could lead to the complete engine failure. I took my Jeep in on Saturday to the dealership where I purchased it and they were unable to conduct a diagnosis because they only had limited staff there for the weekend. Therefor I had to continue to drive my Jeep for multiple days. I returned on Monday and they charged me $80 to run a diagnosis. The result was a faulty thermostat. They informed me they could fix it for $550-$600 dollars. They also informed me that the part was on backorder of more than 50,000 parts across the nation and it would take a couple weeks to have the part delivered. I ordered the thermostat housing part at a cost of more than $60. The part is only $20 on-line from their part distributor, but they marked it up another $20 and charged another $20 for shipping. I was informed it would take 4 hours to replace due to its location at $118 an hour, plus the cost of coolant. Since I have been waiting for my part, they would not provide me a vehicle and therefor my Jeep has overheated multiple times. With over 50,000 parts on back order and this being a Jeep manufacturer's defect, there should be a recall at no cost to the consumer.
Transmission problems for almost a year now, truck violently jerks forward on acceleration mostly from a dead stop but sometimes in motion and on deceleration has almost caused many front and rear accidents. Recently on my way home from new jersey the check engine light came on indicating service transmission the vehicle lost power while I was on the parkway almost caused an accident. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle then restarted the check engine light was still on, but I regained power to drive. That lasted a minute or two then the same thing happened. Truck lost power was in a fail safe mode barely drove above 30 or 40mph. What a long, unsafe trip home to say the least. I've had nothing but problems with this truck and have numerous complaints and repairs at the dealership. Now it's apart of this recall and no parts are available. The dealership says this problem is the recall, but they can't fix it yet. I've been without my truck for almost 2 weeks this is awful and I'm frustrated and fed-up with this vehicle. I want out of this lease ASAP. And ps they put me in a Dodge dart loaner care are you kidding me I drive a truck for a reason!.
I have had all kinds of electrical issues with my 2015 Cherokee trailhawk 4x4 and this all happened after they did 4 upgrades on my computer at dealership, when picked up SUV the check engine was on, took back to dealer and they said they flashed it what ever that means. The check engine disappeared afterwards, I have had issues with it lunging when letting foot off brake due to the auto on & off feature and just recently was driving and the air bad light, traction light, 4 wheel drive and check engine light came on I pulled over due to this and when putting in park felt like someone rear ended me in which they didnt, the 4 wheel drive light comes on with message that four wheel drive has been disabled contact dealer, that started it all that morning. Then all the other lights illuminated and beeping, I took to dealer in richmond ky and they brought out the scanner and scanned it and printed off several things that was coming up then advised me they couldn't do anything to check vehicle for 2 weeks I then called lexington dealer and they said bring it in, I had it towed to lexington dealer, now they say they cant get it to duplicate anything. Well now this is the issue I have intermittent electrical issues that deems this vehicle unsafe to drive because it is can shut down as others has said or catch fire or accelerate on its own etc. There is definitely issues with this vehicle that no one can explain. I have ask dealership to contact Jeep mfg/Chrysler to see about what they say its very scary having a vehicle that you cant trust to be safe in. Its already had me rear end a car by the lunging after you let off brake now this. . . I just feel unsafe in my new vehicle. . . . I purchased this vehicle to to be a safe one. And its definitely not safe due to being intermittent electrical issues. Dealers doesn't have a clue about the electrical malfunctions of these cars.
On 06/04/16, at 12,600 miles, the Jeep failed completely on the freeway. We were driving 50 mph in heavy southern CA traffic when the ¿transmission service required¿ light and the red check engine light flashed on and we lost all power. This happened instantly and without any warning. We had to throw on the hazard lights and Dodge oncoming traffic to move over 3 lanes to exit the freeway at less than 5 mph. This was a terrifying experience and we are lucky the Jeep did not cause a major accident! the tustin Jeep dealership did a software update and said it was fine. Fca has remained adamant that the problem is not mechanical, but software related and have released 3 software patches to date but we see no improvement. One week later on 06/13/16 the transmission was still functioning poorly (hard shifts, up shifting as you apply the break downhill, etc. ) and then we had another problem. The alarm went off without warning and would not shut off, even when the Jeep¿s engine was turned on. Only after several minutes and pushing every button on the key multiple times did it finally stop. We took it to placentia Jeep and they looked into the transmission and alarm. After having our Jeep for a week, they did yet another software update for the transmission and disconnected the gps. They explained that the gps that was installed at the dealer after the fact was interfering with the factory installed alarm, and that caused the alarm to go off at random. This is a big problem because we were charged $1295 extra for that feature and it is now disconnected. The dealer also found that the battery power was below half, and they felt that the radio was pulling from the battery even when the Jeep is turned off. They found no resolution for this problem and asked us to return after a week or two to reassess the problems.
Check engine light came on related to thermostat liftgate has been leaking since the beginning transmission is slipping or dragging constantly.
Check engine light has been illuminating intermittently for the past 7 months. Finally the dealer was able to identify the error code. Implausable data from the transmission control module error code u0402. The dealership is stating the is safe to drive however I question what kind of damage it is doing to my transmission.
Had three months with my car, started showing the check engine light periodically, I didn´t take much importance, then I receive a recall from the dealer, they fix the unknown problem, then five months later I park on the pending street and trying to drive back, the shifter wasn´t moving at all, after a few minutes strangling with the shifter the car finally work, after that the check engine light was on for a day, this happened again continuously. This check engine light on, happens a lot. Today 12-04-2015, a tragedy happened to me , when I park my car on a climb street, I put the shifter on park, turn off the car, took my key, I get out of the car, close the door, when I was about to set up the alarm I notice by reflection that something was moving, and that was my car, passing by next to me and crashing into a concrete wall, almost run me down, ¿again the car was off and I had the key in my hand¿. How is this possible??? if my car has an automatic transmission. I don¿t feel safe anymore, owing this car, putting my life and others in risk, I don¿t this is fair, when you´re investing your money for security, I need a response or solution for this problem a. S. A. P. Thanks. Alan cuevas hernandez.
I bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk v6 on 10/14/15. On 10/16/15 while driving down a street at 45mph, the vehicle died. I managed to get off to the side of the road and after a couple of attempts it started again. The check engine light was now on and I had no acceleration. I managed to drive 5 miles to the dealership in "limp mode" and drop it off for repairs. The last I heard on 10/17/15 was that they were going to replace the tcm and pcm and see if that helps, it is now 10/21/15 and I do not have an update.
When I switch gear the car jerks very hard when putting it in reverse. It burns gas very fast also the check engine light appears often I have got it check numerous of times they tell me my thermostat may need replaced. But the next day the check engine light will go off. The truck doesn't over heat, it just reads the thermostat may need replaced this been happening since the second month I purchased the vehicle.
Thank you!! the first incident occurred at 304 miles. Check engine light came on and the car started shaking and could not accelerate. Check engine light started flashing and called the dealership immediately. Had the truck towed in and they advised at first that the upper head of the engine blew, after speaking with my customer resolution rep (case number: 26750843) the dealership called me again and advised it was just a bad spark plug and they fixed it. The second incident occurred about a week after this service I took a 200 mile trip to PA to visit family and on the way back from this trip the check engine light came on again. I checked the oil levels and there was nothing on the measuring stick. Had to car towed again and this time bayside Chrysler advised the o-ring went on the car and that it was replaced/fixed. After the o-ring service the car is still loosing oil but I can't smell is burning and there is nothing under the car after leaving a parking spot. However, when the car first starts blue smoke comes out of the exhaust and the engine knocks/tics a bit upon starting but that stops after the oil hits the engine I guess. On 8/5/2015 I started the car after work and the check engine light came on and flashing again and the car began shaking. It was towed to the dealership again this morning for service. The above covers the engine issues. Two weeks ago at a stop sign I stepped on the gas but the engine just reeved for a few seconds followed by the transmission engaging. Since then the transmission has not been shifting normally. The transmission has not failed yet but it appears it's on its way. Currently the car has 2,400 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been in contact with many other on forums and these people have family's/small children as do I. Something needs to be done about these cars. Their not safe.
1 day after purchasing the vehicle (Jeep Cherokee trailhawk) while turning into traffic, the vehicle shut down and lost all engine and steering and was completely disabled in oncoming traffic. The transmission check engine light, parking break warning, and loss of 4-wheel drive warnings all came on. The vehicle was completely immobile and highly unsafe to drive. Chrysler/Jeep has advised they don't know exactly what is causing the problem and have offered several fixes, but they can not guarantee any of them will fix the safety issue.
2015 Jeep Cherokee purchased 2-24-15 with 8 miles on it. Two days later the check engine light came on and I was told to check transmission. Car needed brand new transmission after 2 days. Two weeks ago, the tire pressure light came on. Back driver's side tire keeps losing pressure. On 3-20-15 computer went out. I had no camera, no radio, no heat controls, no ipod player.
When driving the vehicle, dash lights would flash and check engine light would come on. Messages would state the there was a failure with the start/stop or 4x4 or transmission. Vehicle would not engage any gears, d (drive) indicate would be flashing, and I could only rev the engine. Vehicle would not advance and would not engage any gears. Had to shut off engine and turn it back on several times to get the transmission to engage. Check engine light is still on. Taken in for service four times now, update firmware, replace pcm, and now they are going to replace the wiring harness. Vehicle purchased on 12/31 and has been in for service with major failures with the transmission since 1/13/2015.
