Electrical system/transmission malfunctioned causing engine to shift into neutral while driving and cause engine to shut down and refuse to start again. The issue seems to only happen whenever the engine is up to temperature and the fan is active. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealership and they said the throttle body was the issue, after replacement the issue still persists. There is no warning lights or symptoms. It will happen either at rest or in motion. I was driving yesterday and it happened after I had completed a lane change and was almost hit by a semi. This is not the first instance of it occurring.
This vehicle is not safe to drive because it doesn't brake, it takes several seconds to reduce speed after hitting the brakes, and at high speeds it takes longer, which can put anyone's life at risk. The engine is damaged, it releases smoke and is leaking oil, and it heats up when you're moving on the freeway, which can be dangerous. The car loses power while moving. They told me that it was in perfect condition, which they lied to me, putting the lives of many people at risk. The second day after I took it out of the dealership, I realized that the engine was damaged. It started to smoke and lose power. On the road, I almost had an accident because the car didn't brake well. They sold it to me like that. They didn't want to give me the carfax and it hasn't been inspected. All recalls for 2015 Jeep Cherokee 2. 4 wasn’t done properly and caused more damage. Transaxle harness, pscm, maniverter and more caused engine damage to block, which was supposed to be replaced during recall for oil consumption. Now dealer is wanting to charge me for damages pertaining to recalls and new engine block that wasn’t replaced during xb1 and x80 recall warranty. I was almost hit on highway from vehicle stalling out at highspeed and maniverter turning red from 20 minutes of driving from picking up from dealer after u90 recall was supposedly fixed. Constant dash notifications of throttle and shifter as well. I’ve already contacted legal advice and I just want my vehicle running properly, new vehicle or compensation. Everything on this vehicle needs replaced dealing with faulty pcm tcm bcm ecu pscm all harnesses practically entire vehicle.
Water intrusion, causing damage to my electric parking brake module. Parking brake and engaged while vehicle was in motion.
Ptu went out they replaced it it was still not working and they said OH well now ptu is still out and it rolls in park won’t shift when pulling out and is very scary to have my kids in this death trap.
I was driving down the highway and my car just shut off and came to a complete stop in the middle of the road. It happened twice. Both times the emergency brake light came on but at no time was the emergency brake engaged by me. I was lucky that I wasn’t on a busy road and the care behind me had time to react or it could have been fatal. After trying to restart the car it took some tinkering with the ebrake and after a slight hesitation of the engine, it started. That happened twice in one day and once on another. This is a huge issue that can cause loss of life.

There is an active cylinder 2 misfire recall on 2015 Jeep Cherokee. Our vehicle has been in the shop for about 3 days now. And the cylinder 2 misfire is still happening. We would like our VIN looked into. To be added to the recall. The misfire appears to be happening in idle.
Good morning. I am contacting you in regards to my 2015 Jeep Cherokee. In summary, I am having issues with the transmission and upon further investigation I believe the issue is identical/related to recall campaign 16v529000. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle and would very much appreciate the issue be investigated. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The failure mileage was 181,000.
There has been two separate occasions this has occurred. The last occurrence resulted in a car wreck . The first occurrence I was driving out of a public parking lot and had feet on breaks and engine rived up and keep going into traffic but car saw me coming and switched lines. This second occurrence I was parking the car in a parking space with my feet on the breaks and the car rived up even with me hitting the breaks jumped the curb and I and the car ended up through the window of a store. No one was hurt but car damaged and in the shop for repairs. Police came to the seen and deemed it an accident. I did not see any warning lights or messages prior to either of these events. Report #wc2400651 / unable to upload as I don't have a copy.
I've done searches with carfax and there's 4 or more recalls on my Jeep but it's not wanting to do anything now it won't even start I just drove it and the night before and I believe there's an electrical problem a transmission problem and I don't know what else and yes the car financial place knows about it and the place where I bought it from.
Ptu completely bad. . . Just purchased the vehicle and it went bad less than a month after.
Been waiting for a recall to be fixed, the dealership notified me after the paperwork was signed and I brought in the diagnosis. Dmv said 5/16/2022 catalyst efficiency recall, catalyst converter.
I have a recall on the vehicle, I purchased may2024. Was never told about the recall until I took the vehicle to someone else and then told the company I purchased it from. Catalyst efficiency. I was also given a letter from the dmv.
Vehicle alerts to ‘service parking brake’ and engages parking parking brake without warning. Shifter has gotten stuck in n, unable to shift out for some time. Shifting in secondary incident resulted in a clunking when shifted to drive as well as vehicle deceleration after driving for one minute. Safety is affected for all as the vehicle coasts to a stop in traffic. Towing to repair shop required twice, where no issue was found by service technicians either time.

1. The motor mounts, esim, struts, and transmission, it is available for inspection 2. When driving, it "kicks" when switching gears, at redlights, it will tell me to put the vehicle in park, I have to stay at the light, put it in park, then in drive. Sometimes I will have to restart the vehicle 3. Confirmed by automotive shop, information available upon request 4. Inspected by automotive shop 5. No warning lamps, just the check engine light and gas cap light when the problems started. This has been ongoing for months. Over $1000 worth of repairs that need to be completed.
My vehicle - at random - will switch to traction control, 4x4, and will slow down while driving, and will not allow me to go above 45 mph, with the engine rpm’s revved as high as if I’m driving 85 mph. No mechanic has been able to accurately diagnose it, and I continue to pay for different repairs, without getting the problem actually solved.
We own and lease mostly Chrysler /Jeep products in our family. We currently have a wrangler, pacifica, Jeep Cherokee. Our 2015 Jeep Cherokee has shut down completely while driving 4 times. The first time this happened was a year ago and we thought it was a fluke. Recently it has happened 3 times so there is clearly an issue with this 2015 Jeep Cherokee and it is unsafe to drive until this matter is completely fixed or the car is replaced. We are fortunate that an accident did not occur during any of these times however the last incident came very close. Very frightening !! the vehicle is currently at rockland Jeep dealer and I am attaching the estimate we received which is over 5,000. 00. We have replaced the battery, changed the oil and have been without this vehicle for almost 2 months. We are hoping that Chrysler will pick up this expense since there were many recalls regarding this matter.
Second time dealing with misfire on #6 cylinder. Coil failed causing sparkplug to be comprised.
Our 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk is being recalled for transmission and power lift gate. These parts cannot be fixed because the parts are not avaiable. Also they updated the navigation and uconnect and vehicles 2015-2018 are not eligible for the update. They changed from 3g to 4g. And our Jeep is not qualified. We went to another car dealer and were told because of the recalls which they have many on their lot, we were offered only 7000 dollars for trade. Because of the recalls, we need to get another vehicle.
While driving onto the interstate I was accelerating on the on-ramp when the vehicle suddenly lost the ability to shift gears, while every service indicator light on the dash came on. I pulled over to check on the vehicle. I did restart and it seemed ok. Once starting to get back onto the interstate it stopped shifting gears at 3rd gear, and would also not downshift. This was an issue as I could only reach a speed of about 35-40 mph. This continued for hours while getting to my destination. At certain points it would not shift out of first gear. This was not a safe environment to be in. I called the dealer and took it for servicing. Dealer stated the oil cooler stopped working, and in doing so leaked oil all throughout the engine. I ended up replacing the thermostat, radiator, and the oil cooler due to the issue. The Jeep was in the shop for 15 days while they were replacing parts and trying to flush out the oil in areas there shouldn’t be any oil. They told me I would always have a slim amount of oil in engine due to not being able to flush completely. $5000 later, everything seems to be ok now.
On August 11th, 2023, at approximately 12:50 pm, I drove my 2015 Jeep Cherokee into my houses’ garage and parked. I went inside my house to meet an air conditioning repairman. No sooner than a minute or two had passed that I immediately heard noises coming from my garage. The noises sounded like mechanical in nature. It almost sounded like a washing machine agitating. I opened my side door of the garage and saw a plum of grey smoke billowing from the engine’s hood. Then I saw what looked like sparks and very small flames coming from underneath the front engine. Within a split second, I got into my car and turned on the ignition. I saw no lights on the dashboard indicating that I had a problem. I proceeded to pull the car out of the driveway (the garage door was already up) and exited the car as quickly as I could. Within seconds the flame grew larger. I then called 911 while waiting on the front lawn. I had 2 dogs inside the that I considered were safe. The police came first and then two fire trucks. By that point, the Jeep was completed engulfed in flames including the tires. The fire started in the front of the vehicle and worked its way back. The firemen distinguished the fire which took about 30 minutes from beginning to end. The heat from the fire melted the siding over my two car garage (garage is attached to the house) as well as the siding to right hand side of the home. Glass and debris began to catch fire and pop and spit into the yard. Let me just say that I’m a breast cancer survivor still going through treatment and was at home alone at the time when this happened as my husband was out of town. I’m not in 100% back to my old shelf. I’m absolutely in shock and devastated over the loss of the car. And I’m in more shock to think what would have happened if I hadn’t had the foresight to pull the car out of the driveway. I’m simply devastated.

P306 engine light error-cylinder #6 misfire. This has occurred twice in 20 months. The first repair was 10/6/2021 , mileage 49105. This same error code is now activated (7/22/2023)and my mechanic has indicated the same repair will likely be required. Service appointment is scheduled. Current mileage is ~62000. When this misfire occurs the start/stop system is deactivated, drivability can be impacted, fuel leakage and if unrepaired, significant engine damage could occur.
Service shifter lights up and I have had to replace it multiple times at the dealership since 10k miles. I now have almost 90k and have had this issue at least 6 times. I am annoyed and this is a major safety issue. There is a thread online with thousands of people reporting this issue for Jeep Cherokee. Does someone have to die first for this to be taken seriously?.
Shuddering, crank shaft failure, engine stall, car shifts into emergency brake. Loss of motive power can cause vehicle crash without warning. Vehicle not yet inspected. Similar vehicles with recall under “safety recall w58 / NHTSA 20v-475 loss of crankshaft position”.
My 2015 Jeep haslocked up on me twice now. The power brake system comes on automatic and I cannot accelerate. The first time it happened it about threw me into the windshield. This second time it jerked me forward. It has been in the dealership once to fix the problem. Now it has done it again. The warning lights come on the dash as power brake system malfunction, check engine soon, do not engage and put vehicle in park and several other warnings.
Since acquiring my vehicle, I have had to replace the flex pipe three times. I have experienced recurrent issues with the exhaust system, requiring multiple repairs to address the same problem, which has resulted in ongoing frustration and inconvenience.
I've been waiting for months to fix the latest recall as part of the 'park outside' campaign, of which we received notice several months ago. This vehicle should never have been sold due to the 11 recalls it's had. I want out of this vehicle and loan. Please advise.
