1 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2021

The oil filter housing is made of plastic, causing it to easily break most likely due to overtightening when getting an oil change, then this causes oil to leak onto the exhaust pipe being a potential fire hazard, since most people go get their oil changed at a business not themselves you wouldn't know until it is too late and nobody will accept fault, Jeep needs to recall and make this housing out of metal to prevent this issue.

2 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2019

2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude 4 wheel drive. It is under warranty for transmission, etc. Using oil, ( evaporates?) and is a known issue with this make model and year. Called Jeep and was advised to get it into service immediately due to known issues, but they would not allow me to make a complaint. Jeep has been trying to stall out while driving, at stops, hard shifts, brake comes on automatically, completely stopped in the middle of the road while driving, and oil has somehow disappeared from it, but no leaks.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2018

The vehicle's low oil light indicator only flashes across the screen and does not remain on. This only takes place when the car is completely out of oil and the car loses power and shuts off while in motion. The vehicle has no leaks but requires oil every 700 miles or so. The engine runs off synthetic oil which should have to be replaced less frequently, but this vehicle needs oil replacement every 2-3 months.

4 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2016

Dealer diagnosed an oil leak from the vehicle oil filter housing, which is located on top of the engine, during a routine oil change. The oil appears to be leaking from a gasket at the base of the housing or the housing is cracked. Oil pools in a valley, on top of the hot engine, while running, presenting a fire hazard. Dealer was unable to repair for a week. Awaiting repair under warranty.

5 Engine Oil Leaking problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2015

This is a newly leased vehicle. After driving at 65 mph for about 20 minutes and then stopping, a burning smell was observed. After opening hood, smoke was rising from behind the engine, but no fire. Oil was observed leaking underneath the vehicle and engine oil level had dropped below the recommended level. Oil was leaking onto the skid plate and exhaust which caused the smoke. Vehicle was driven back to the dealer for repairs. Dealer stated the oil pan seal was leaking and replaced the seal immediately at no charge to me.
