Driving in a residential area, car kept sputtering. Rpm gauge kept going up and down while pressing in the gas multiple times while driving until it eventually shut down again. Engine light and battery light came on. This has occurred for the second time.

This has happened 4 times now starting in Jan 21, 2020. Stopped at stop sign and shut off. Tried to restart and would not. Waited about 3 minutes and it started. As I slowed down for another stop sign it shut off but restarted immediately. As I slowed down for another stop sign I turned right with out stopping and the engine shut off. All the idiot lights on dash came on. Battery was fully functional. Car would not start for 45 minutes and then it finally started. Car was taken to dealership and they could find nothing wrong. Their answer was if we can't duplicate it there is nothing we can do. If it happens again bring it in. What is that suppose too mean? it happened again on 5-13-20, 5-15-20 and 5-31-20. All these times it was when we are driving along and making a right turn. Engine just shuts off. On 5-31-20 I was in a traffic lane making a right turn with other traffic behind when the engine shut off. The driver behind me was beeping his horn for me to move as he had not known my engine shut off. Would hate to have this happen if I was on an interstate. Just had the battery replace under warranty on 5-28-20. Engine oil gauge read 54% not sure what the problem is but sure doesn't sound safe to me. Calling the dealership tomorrow to get an appointment.

This car burns oil at an extreme rate, ive had it checked out for consumption tests after every 1,000 miles- it is always low on oil. With no answers from Jeep who is performing these tasks. Currently the car has been since about 25,000 miles- (im sitting at 51,000 now) shaking between gears, the rpm gauge tac jumps around, the car seems to struggle running. Every time the car is taken in - I'm told the car is running correctly even with high oil consumption as well as issues with transmission and that this is Jeeps standard. I have yet to have anything resolved since I've been told there are zero problems or the dealership cannot replicate the issues I've had. A less than 3 year old car should not be burning more than a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. This is a car that has a standard of getting oil changes every 6,000 miles. How is this following Jeeps standard. If I followed this standard I would be pulling my car into a dealership every recommended 6,000 miles with zero oil. Ive had a starter explode in my engine, had it fixed for it to only do the same issue a week later. When in motion my entire car hopps around, its nearly impossible to take it on the expressway because I know its so dangerous. I cannot trust this car going over 55 miles an hour. Ive given up hope in Jeep and still continue to get my regular work done to keep the car barely functioning. 51,000 miles. A car that as gotten an oil change every 1,000 miles the last two years. And has had complete regular work done on it. This is not okay. This is dangerous.
Was driving my 2014 Jeep Cherokee down the road. It shuttered and stopped suddenly. We barely coasted to side of road. We found out we was out of gas. The fuel gauge quit working. We was almost rear ended. We had less than 50,000 miles on my Jeep. It was scary and Jeep would do nothing about it unless I paid the 300. 00 to get hooked up to computer at dealership. I had to pay it up front. I do not have the money for that. I thank god that we was not rear ended at the time it happened. We was driving down state route 49 in arcanum at the time it happened. Just driving from arcanum to greenville ohio. Called aaa for a tow. But a person stopped by with gas in a gas can and asked if we wanted to try it. We put gas in Jeep. It started up. Felt with less than 50,000 they should have checked it out for free. What if we was rear ended? state route 49 in that area is very busy two lane state route. So we think gauge is wrong or broken. So might list unknown since never put on computer to know for sure.

I purchased a buyback vehicle with 2257 miles on it in November of 2014. At the time, it was disclosed to me the reason for the previous owners return of the vehicle was a fuse (although the paperwork indicates a wiring replacement). I've since had several repairs on this vehicle including a complete transmission replacement, cooling system, several module updates, software updates, and wiper motor replacement. The issues continue, and this vehicle cannot seem to be fixed. The bottom line is this: the vehicle is completely unsafe to drive. When in a stopped position going from park to drive, the car makes a loud boom, or banging sound almost like something fell off or out of the car. It¿s a recognizable sound that is unmistakable. In addition, while driving, the vehicle has a hard time accelerating, and strains, making another, yet different loud noise. It also is unable to slow down properly, as the rpm gauge fluctuates. There seems to be several issues with this vehicle that has already had its transmission replaced twice. It is clear that this vehicle cannot be fixed. I have since had several module and software updates in addition to the complete transmission being replaced, the issues still continue.
Drivers side instrument cluster keeps going black so I can not see the mileage, gas gauge, speedometer or any other warning lights that might be present while driving the vehicle. I have taken it to the dealership many times and they just keep resetting and reconfigure the modules and a few months later it will happen again until the cluster unit was finally replaced and now again the same thing is happening. This has never happened while driving but just out of the blue when I go to start the vehicle the dash will not light up, all recalls on this vehicle are up to date. I bought the Cherokee in may 10, 2014 and it was in the shop with this issue on April 4, 2015 and has been in the shop off an on since that time. It is currently as of this moment in the shop for the same problem and I am currently driving a loaner car.
I will be going at any speed and my Jeep will just die or spit and sputter like its not getting gas then the rpm gauge drops to zero all the dash lights come on. This happens on the highway in the middle of intersection and it happens intermittenly so you never know when its going to happen. Took it to mechanic and they told me the valve body selnoid was bad. If you search any of this online you will see that there are several people with the same problem this needs to be a recall before someone ends up dead!!.

We bought an imported right-hand drive Jeep from postal pete, galena IL, for a mail route. This is not safety maybe: 1. The oil pressure guage, instead of being repaired in the dash, they added an auxillary oil gauge below the dash, which makes it impossible to safely look at the gauge. 2. The odometer/speedometer unit doesn't measure correctly I think. 3. The lights on the dash & console don't work. Because of the takata recalls, I looked at your site. When we complained with the dealer their attitude was tough you paid for it. Also the rear end was bad. My husband went back before he left IL for FL. They excused it saying it was tires. My husband knew they were lying (he does work on vehicles for us). We ended up having to replace the rear end. This complaint is more about the importer postal pete than it is about the vehicle. They should not be allowed to do this to customers. Also they required a check in advance, thereby making it so we could not refuse the vehicle because they had our money. Not nice people. Dis-honesty. I retired Dec. 2011. I don't remember purchase date. You require something. Picked up 11/02/10 reg. 12/07/2010 thank you. Alicia.
