One problem related to battery dead has been reported for the 2006 Jeep Commander. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was slowly pulling through a stop light (stop and go traffic up to it). Jeep suddenly lost power of all kinds - stalled engine, no emergency flashers, no radio, nothing. Tried to turn key & restart it a # of times but it was dead. Ambulance drove by, stopped & pushed me out of the road. As they were pushing me, electrical came back on. So I tried to turn key again and car started. **I am pretty confident that my knee did not touch the key- I am too short for that and also the car would not restart once stalled- I turned key many times to tr and get out of the road and car remained dead/powerless. All electrical was off. Once car came back on, radio stations no longer programmed, etc. Much like the battery had died. ** plz note, mileage is estimated- I need to go look inside car.
